I have a couple of questions I want to ask. Firstly is it normal here for things to seem off, or something you can't explain to yourself let alone others? Secondly, is it odd for my hair colour to change all by itself?

I'm just curious if I'm not the only one this has happened to.
[identity profile]
Garden's stayed the same and become completely different in the time that I was gone. People have come and gone, or I've forgotten. Let's hope it's not the latter.

Anyway, I'm Aya Brea. Instructor Brea to any students, as I'm teaching Limit Break Theory now. Let's see whether we can get some of that energy out of you and doing useful things. I'm sure we can.

Anybody taking my classes should meet me just outside Garden at your scheduled time. We'll be practising outside. No finals since I'm... late but that doesn't mean you can slack off.

[There will be a woman with short blonde hair standing near the entrance to Garden. She's got her gun out and beside her is a training dummy with a LED damage counter attached to it.

While she's just waiting for people to hopefully turn up to her class, there's nothing to say that people can't go bother her regardless, right? After all, people are streaming in walking past her and she's half looking for anybody she vaguely recognises.]

(( ooc: backdating is fine, and I hope I've done this right, haha. ))

Chapter 1: The Library

[A smile alights Belle's face, her being thoroughly engrossed in the current book within her hands as she sits at an otherwise unoccupied table in the library. She's appears to be quite far gone within her reading and seemingly unaware of everyone else within the room, let alone near by. It's not hard to imagine that a herd of chocobos could be running about, darting in and out of the shelves, jumping from atop the computers, and she wouldn't bat an eye.

However... as you approach, she speaks up without ever looking up from her book. Her voice is soft, as you're in the library after all, but not as distracted as you'd imagine from the bookworm SeeD.]

The other seats are not in use nor being saved, if you need to get some work done.

Chapter 2: Cafeteria

[It's a strange sight, to those who know Belle, but instead of a book in her hand as she eats, she's going over ... paperwork.

Alright, perhaps not that strange of a sight, but strange enough for the well known bookworm. Of course, even an instructor should take time to go over their lessons and grade work. While she isn't naive enough to think that her students are eager to get their assignments back as soon as possible, or in dire need of homework assignments come Monday, she's focused upon getting these tasks completed and ready. Nothing shall distract her from this chosen course of work!

Except, you, if you'd like. Go for it.]

[Night has fallen on Balamb Garden; the halls of Garden are mostly deserted besides the stray student walking about, and even the usual faculty members are missing from their posts around the school. There's a certain festive energy through the air, the source coming from the happily decorated Ballroom located on the second floor.

At exactly 2100, as soon as the dinner rush ends, the Garden chime sounds and the intercom clicks on. The Headmaster speaks to the Garden.

The Homecoming Dance is now beginning. Your attendance is requested at [2F] Ballroom.

I repeat, the Homecoming Dance is now beginning. Your attendance is requested at [2F] Ballroom. The ball will run until 2400. Students leaving the ball after curfew are to return to their dorms immediately.

The ball and its festivities tonight are being sponsored very generously by the Garden Festival Committee.

[After the announcement, the intercom falls silent. The faint sound of music can be heard from the second floor of the building.]

[There seems to be a festive atmosphere all throughout Garden. Why? Because it's the Homecoming Carnival! The Garden Festival Committee has been hard at work all morning and when 1300 hours strikes, it's finally open for everyone to enjoy.

There's a map on the Directory which shows where everything is located:

Have fun, Garden!]

[OOC: As noted, this has been backdated to last Friday. So as not to exclude new characters who came in after, though, it can be assumed that their arrivals were backdated so they can participate.

PLEASE DO NOT POST UNTIL WE HAVE FINISHED PUTTING UP THE SUBCOMMENTS. Thank you! We're done posting the subcomments, you can go ahead and jump in!

EDIT: Also, we forgot to mention: Players can assume that characters take different shifts which allow for everyone to enjoy other parts of the carnival as well instead of being stuck manning a booth the whole night. For Dunk Tank and Kissing Booth, it's best to leave your character's name in the subject of their comment to start off their thread to indicate their shift. Thank you!

EDIT 2: FORGIVE US! We forgot to mention that there is a price for some of the attractions at the carnival. This is a fundraiser where the money can to go whatever the Garden Festival Committee sees fit; we'll let the players and their characters decide on that front. Here's how the pricing goes:

KISS: 2 gil each
CARNIVAL GAME: 1 gil per game
FACE PAINTING: 2 gil per person
FOOD STALLS: We'll leave this up to characters to decide.
DUNK TANK: 5 gil for 3 balls, 10 gil for 10 balls
FORTUNE TELLING: 3 gil per reading

We hope this clarifies things!

[In-between classes, Cissie's situated herself in the cafeteria with a notepad, pen, and a couple of books. With titles like 'Dating for Dummies' and 'A History of Balamb Garden', it seems like she's doing more than just homework. Every now and then, she glances up from her work to look around - and maybe to get a soda or two.

This time, before getting some more food, she walks over to the nearest table and points a thumb towards her stuff:]
Hey, could you look after my stuff for a moment? I wanna grab a soda.

Um... if you want, I could get you something to eat too! It wouldn't be a problem.

[Especially since cafeteria food these days've gotten a lot better. Now she actually doesn't mind going for seconds!]

[Knock knock, Bart! Cissie's standing in front of his door with a freshly-baked batch of chocolate chip oatmeal cookies. She'll need the cookies - or so she thinks - to actually say what she wants to say this time.]

[The camera switches on to a midshot of Mikuru, in civilian gear rather than cadet uniform or her battle waitress costume, clutching a small notepad with shaking hands. She looks kind of scared, too, but tries to perk up when she realizes the camera's recording.]

H... [She clears her throat and tries again.] Hello, everybody! [That smile's a bit better than before. Public speaking's scary, okay? Even on camera instead of in front of an audience.] I'm Mikuru, apprentice leader of the Garden Festival Committee, and I have a few announcements to make!

First, the winners of our recent date auction for the Centra orphanage: [She picks up another piece of paper and reads from it.]

We raised almost four thousand gil for the Centra orphanage, so thank you very much for your support, everybody! We hope you enjoy your dates.

[Page flip!]

Also, a reminder about the Homecoming carnival and dance approaching! The carnival is on Friday, with food from the different worlds, games, and activities set up all around Garden.

[Mikuru flips the page, puts down the pad and holds up a map for a moment:]

[When she puts it down, she smiles, looking a little embarassed.] Don't worry if you missed that! We'll have the carnival map up on the directory, and we'll also hand out maps around the carnival.

We'd like to thank everyone who's volunteered to run or be part of a booth so far! It's not too late to volunteer; we'll still be holding signups in the cafeteria today and tomorrow. After classes tomorrow, we'll let you know when your shift will be!

[Page flip!]

If you can sing, dance, play an instrument, or do anything else special, the carnival will also include a talent quest in the quad! The most talented performers as judged by the art and music appreciation instructors, Bro Strider and Sharpay Evans, will perform at the homecoming dance!

[Mikuru flips the page over again.]

The dance is on Saturday night in the ballroom. There we'll be voting for the Homecoming Court, so think long and hard about who you want to be your Homecoming King, Queen, Prince, and Princess! Also, each club will be represented in the Homecoming Court by a Beau and a Sweetheart, that is, one boy and one girl, so it's up to the members of all active clubs to decide amongst yourselves!

[A new page.]

The GFC will be meeting at 7PM for the next two nights to set up booths, decorations, props, and much more. It's a very busy time of year!

[Mikuru flips the page and looks surprised at it before looking back up to the camera with a smile.]

That's all for today! I hope to see you all at Homecoming!

[She leans forward to turn the camera off.]

(OOC: Hey GFC kids! Whether you play out helping the GFC or handwave it is totally up to you. ♥ Also, a note for talent quest participants: IC signups will be on the day but for ease of MC-ing, we're having an OOC signup thread here.)

Hello everyone!

It certainly is quite nice to be back.

For those who are new here, my name is Belle and I will be the new instructor for (CLI 101) Composition and Literature on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; (ENG 099) Understanding, Speaking and Writing English on Tuesdays and Thursdays. As of the moment, I am going through all the lesson plans and grade books to see where everyone is at, but rest assured things will be fine to progress come classes. If any questions are needed to be asked, please do not hesitate to seek me out or respond to this post with them.

Thank you and I look forward to meeting you all in time.

[Here is a girl with bright pink, curly hair, bouncing around with a party blower and giving some out random strangers. She's wearing a grin that could crack anyone's face.]

It's so GREAT to be BACK! [She looks over to her pet baby alligator, who's wearing the tiniest party hat ever.] C'mon, Gummy! Shake that tail!

[Pinkie Pie rocks on the balls of her feet in excitement.] There are so many new people! [GASP] That means there are a lot of new names and BIRTHDAYS to remember! And you know what meeeaaaannnnns!

[Gummy simply blinks at her. Of course he does...not. But Pinkie Pie will tell him, right after she takes a deeeeeep breath. Uh oh.]

[Let the parties BEGIN!]

[Later on the BBS, when she runs out of party blowers.]

HI EVERYBODY! And a special HELLO to all the new arrivals!

I guess I'm new to, huh? Hahaha!

I'm Pinkie Pie! I'll be your cute and friendly instructor for Home Economics! That's just a fancy title for cooking and sewing and baking and EVERYTHING COOL AND YUMMY class! I just got back from a REALLY awesome mission, so I look forward to meeting EACH and EVERY one of you!

Don't think you can escape! Pinkie Pie will find you!

Bye now!

[Danny's reading through the letter he received upon arrival, though the doesn't look very concerned by it. At best? It's some stupid prank thing by Vlad.

At worst? It's true and he just needs to find that stupid Infi-map to get home.

Come on, who actually is going to believe this garbage about space-time compression...

[Excuse him while he mutters to himself some more. And throws the letter behind him.]
[identity profile]
[If anyone were to walk past the Home Economics room, they might be able to catch the faint scent of something burning. It is, in fact, M'gann's first batch of cookies which have suffered a most unfortunate fate. Despite having mastered the recipe of chocolate chip cookies, M'gann isn't exactly in the right state of mind at the moment, her mind too filled with worry (and also a large side of mortification) due to a certain post on the BBS.

Was she really that obvious? Could everyone else see right through her? She didn't think that she was so transparent, but apparently someone had noticed her habits around Connor enough to mention it on their post. She remembered how completely shocked and embarrassed she felt when she saw the little tidbit about herself, her cupcakes and Connor. But really, those cupcakes were for everyone! Not to mention a class assignment...

Too embarrassed, she had exited the post before she could reach the replies at the bottom. She had spent the next couple of days avoiding Superboy as much as she could, and now that it was the weekend she needed something to take her mind off of the entire thing. Baking seemed to be therapeutic enough… at least, until she burnt the first batch.

She's in the midst of preparing a new bowl of cookie dough now, concentrating hard on mixing in the chocolate chips and attempting to block everything else from her mind.]

[These kinds of things had to be done.

With the new quarter going underway, Headmaster Cid had asked of Quistis to go into some of the classes and assess them. Not so much on the material being taught, but the way instructors interact with the cadets, whether they are accommodating the offworlders and native cadets alike. Of course the instructors and cadets haven't been given a warning prior, which makes everything all the more candid.

With a clipboard in her hand, Quistis quietly slips into the classroom to watch from the back.]

[OOC: So yeah… basically for anyone who has a cadet? Perfect time to try and get instructors into trouble if they hate them. Or, you know, try and show off how perfectly wonderful an instructor is. Anyone who's interested in having Quistis explore their class just tag in noting which class it is in the subject. Classes with NPC instructors are welcomed, too! Also, I doubt she'll be doing this all in one day so it'll be an ongoing thing throughout the week. Note which day you'd like her to visit a class!]

[OOC: Please note in the subject of your tag if you're hitting her up during or after class! Also, M'gann is disguised so she doesn't have her green skin.]

(backdated to mid Saturday afternoon)

[Sitting on the stage of the quad is everyone's favorite GFC leader! There's a spot just in front of the stage with a big blanket for everyone who comes to the meeting to sit on (he has an extra one if many people come) and...SNACKS! Just some cookies he bought. It isn't much, but he appreciates all the members and their efforts!

Everyone is responsible for their own drinks, though.

A notebook is in his lap is being filled with notes while Gakupo sings this little melody, swinging his feet a bit. Ah, there's an idea! Scriblbe scribble!]

Give...a performance. [Best idea yet!]

(ooc: this is open to anyone who is interested in joining the GFC! Also, Gakupo is looking for a vice leader! Bring your ideas, guys, to be incorporated into Homecoming!)

[This teen is pretty tall for his age and his upper back is pretty solid in the black shirt with the red S shield he's wearing, no one could miss him (unless they were purposefully ignoring him). He doesn't look too impressed, either, more confused than angry (his short temper and anger issues will crop up soon enough!) as he glares down at the directory with a furrowed brow. He folds his arms across his chest and only grows all the more frustrated as his eyes dart over the screen to better understand the layout of the map laid out in front of him.

Too bad Robin wasn't around to help him, that kid was so tech savvy that Superboy sometimes wondered if the Boy Wonder had been born for just that purpose alone, to understand computers and software.

But how did he come to be here in the first place? They had just left Bialya. Everyone was preparing to head home for a good night's rest. Closed his eyes and bam, Superboy found himself not in his usual closet where he had stood asleep hours ago but in some strange and unfamiliar place.

((OOC: With a wee bit of backdating.))

[Mitsuru takes to the first day of school as if she was born to it, and getting up at 6:00 AM and learning about military strategy and para-magic was all part of a normal day. She moves through the morning classes without faltering, pen in hand and book bag close by. Notes are taken, material is absorbed, and through it all she keeps a steady, composed mask on.

That mask stays in place up until lunch break. Specifically, about fifteen minutes past noon. Lunch is eaten quickly, to the point that she barely tastes any of it, and then it's a straight line out of the cafeteria and to another spoke off the wheel. That tour of the Garden stays fresh in her mind, and she makes good time, wasting very little of the break with trying to find her way to the library. Once there, she's quick to pick out where all the books on Guardian Forces and Para-Magic have been placed. And makes record time in putting half of them on a study table, and frowning over the material.

Most of the lectures, she was able to take in stride. But getting into the theory of what a Guardian Force was…It still makes her feel restless, and causes an odd sense of deja vu to wash over her. Penthesilea isn't helping much in that regard, either. The Persona had been quiet during the daylight hours, but now is insistent on pressing up against her thoughts…And making it that much harder to process the material in front of her.

Mitsuru frowns again, and sets back into reading with a will.]
[identity profile]
[Despite waking up in a new, bizarre place, and suddenly being dropped at what looks like a giant floating holiday ornament, Mitsuru is remarkably well collected.

The course catalog under her arm might explain some of that composure. She spent well over half the trip and the day pouring over it. The classes she's reviewed are a far cry from anything taught in Gekkoukan…But with the deluge of changes, studying and academics are what she finds herself focusing on. It keeps her grounded, if nothing else.

Which is why she's walking around the Garden NOW, instead of having to rush blindly about once she's registered and trying to find the classrooms. And she is moving about with a will; it takes a special talent to make boots click that loudly over marble, in such a wide space. She pauses after the first circle around the ground level, looking at the map and frowning as she tries to puzzle out the structure. She even murmurs a few phrases in French as she scans the board.]

"Je ne comprends pas…This place shouldn't be THAT hard to decipher and navigate."

[Giant walkways, pools, and fountains are also a far cry from the school she knows. Even when that school changes into a tower.]
[identity profile]
[With all these people disappearing and then reappearing, one of the native girls is getting really quite confused... but, y'know, at least she's stayed in one place! Applejack should feel grateful, but it's putting a right old delay on classes starting up again. This hard worker can't stand so much free time!

Honestly. She'd try to put up a stall somewhere and try and drum up some business, but either the delivery's been held up or Time Compression sent her apples into the future.

So, right now? She's training in the training centre. Or, more specifically, she's giving her dog Winona a work out.

All right, you bring 'em all back here now!

[So yeah. She's herding grats.]
[identity profile]
[For once, Alistair had it together. He'd dropped his bags off in his room, and had decided to people watch. Hands resting over his stomach--those hot dogs had been even better with cheese--one can find him waving as students pass, as if he were a king making a public appearance to his beloved subjects.

In some realities, it might even be true. But today, he's only a SeeD back from assignment.]

Hey! How have you been? Lovely day we're having, isn't it?
