[action 1-the quad] [open]
[For once, Alistair had it together. He'd dropped his bags off in his room, and had decided to people watch. Hands resting over his stomach--those hot dogs had been even better with cheese--one can find him waving as students pass, as if he were a king making a public appearance to his beloved subjects.
In some realities, it might even be true. But today, he's only a SeeD back from assignment.]
Hey! How have you been? Lovely day we're having, isn't it?

This fellow waving at people, though? Doesn't fit well into any of the categories she's been forming. So naturally, this calls for stopping, and speaking with him directly in order to figure out where he does fit in.]
"A nice enough day, sir."
[That's true, at least. This island she's been carted off to does seem to have a knack for sunny days.]
no subject
[He grins, and that is what shatters any kingly resemblance he may have had--royalty, this goofy? Certainly not!]
I've just returned from a mission. Have you been here long?
no subject
And slowly edges him towards the 'Iori' category.]"I suppose...? Productivity sounds better, though."
[That's what you're supposed to do when nice weather gives you energy, isn't it? There is also plenty of eyebrow raising at that grin.]
"And no, I haven't been here long at all. This,"
[A hand is waved at the Garden walkways.]
"Is all a novelty."
no subject
[Oh so serious! There were some times when Izora had been this serious--Morrigan had always been busy with some snarky comment or another--or they'd been trading jibes.]
You know, bring your books outside to take in the sights while you study. Or at least the sounds or smells. That sort of thing.
[He can respect the sense of duty he picks up from this one, even if he's so much more casual about it all.]

[Kingly Bearing, meet Young Emperor Bearing. Larsa's looking at Alistair with an odd but curious expression as he approaches.]

I don't recall seeing you before. I'm Alistair. Have you been here long?
no subject
Perhaps a month or so, unless my ability to count the days and weeks as they pass is no longer with me.
[He dips his head in a greeting.] And I am Larsa, a pleasure I'm sure.

[Herakles receives a grin.]
How are you? Enjoying your time here?

As it is she just stands there for a moment and just gapes at him before she finds her voice.]
Sweet Maker. Alistair? [She's smiling as she walks over towards him.] When did you get here? I thought I was the only Warden to get pulled into this mess. I'm glad to see I was wrong.
[A familiar face or not (since there's no guarantee he even knows this particular Cousland), she moves in to give him a hug not even thinking about the possibility that this could be entirely too weird for her companion. She's too busy just being so very, very grateful to see a friend and a familiar face to care about anything else.]
no subject
Yes, that's me! You're Maeve Cousland, are you? [He accepts the hug and returns it warmly enough.] How are you? Your missions went smoothly? You look good!
no subject
Mae please, Alistair. [She pulls back, offering him a slightly sad smile.] Sorry, I hadn't thought about the fact that due to Time Compression there was a chance that I was a stranger to you.
[At his questions she nods.]
My missions went very well, though they took quite a bit longer than I'd imagined they would. It's nice to be back after being gone for so long. I've gotten used to sleeping in a real bed under a roof again. Not that sleeping wherever we could find that was secure stuff we used to do.
[Sitting down next to him, she glances at a random passerby before starting with a question of her own.]
Tell me about it, what you remember from your Ferelden? I'd like to know just how different things are and what might have happened differently.
Woo I HTML fail so much orz.

Ah... Yep! It's really nice out today!
[ Hope you don't mind, sir, but you've just found yourself a companion for the next few minutes, because she moves over to where he's seated and... Plops down. Just like that. Not like she has somewhere to be, honestly and... Well, after everything going on lately, friendly conversation would probably do her some good. ]
Good day for sitting out here, huh?
no subject
Especially when all I have to do is sit around, now. No missions, nothing to do but sit back and relax. Kind of nice to be back here again, I say.
no subject
You've got the right idea, though! It's nice not to have any classes, too!

Well enough. And yes, the weather is quite agreeable.
[A pause.]
And yourself? How are you?
no subject
You're not a face I recognize, have you been away long? [Since he's assuming that he's just missed Cid in the throng.]
no subject
Cid Raines.
I was away for a series of missions, so I have not been around the Garden much until just recently.

I suppose the weather's satisfactory enough... though I don't recall seeing you around.
Templar!
You wouldn't. I've just got back! Have you been here long? I'm Alistair.
Close enough!
Can't say I recall just how long we've been here.
[ His introduction causes a bit of a nod in return before she offers her hand. ]

As much as I ever do. [Which likely means he found time to enjoy himself.] How've you been?
no subject
Good, good! I'm teaching here now, so I don't get to fly you SeeDs everywhere now. [teasing~ Apollo's skills're pretty decent, so he suspects they probably will be missed.]
