First GFC Meeting of the quarter! [ACTION]

(backdated to mid Saturday afternoon)

[Sitting on the stage of the quad is everyone's favorite GFC leader! There's a spot just in front of the stage with a big blanket for everyone who comes to the meeting to sit on (he has an extra one if many people come) and...SNACKS! Just some cookies he bought. It isn't much, but he appreciates all the members and their efforts!

Everyone is responsible for their own drinks, though.

A notebook is in his lap is being filled with notes while Gakupo sings this little melody, swinging his feet a bit. Ah, there's an idea! Scriblbe scribble!]

Give...a performance. [Best idea yet!]

(ooc: this is open to anyone who is interested in joining the GFC! Also, Gakupo is looking for a vice leader! Bring your ideas, guys, to be incorporated into Homecoming!)

Hey! Be polite, ya little pig!

[ Enter the inseparable food magnet duo of Raseth and Shin, the weasel already reaching for one of the cookies before his partner chastises him. He pauses and looks up at Gakupo with one paw outstretched. He stops... and droops. ]

[ ...Facepalm from the owner. ]

[Stops singing and blinks at them. Particularly the thing that just talked.]

...um...

Those are for people attending the GFC meeting, I'm afraid.

[ Earperk and headtilt. ]

The... dudes in charge of the Garden Festival, yeah?

I did send a message out onto the BBS...but yes, that's us.

Would you like to stay, since you're here?

I... If it's not much trouble! We were actually giving the GFC a little thought ourselves.

Of course it's not much trouble! We'd love to have some help! [The more, the merrier!] I'm Gakupo.

I'm Shin and this is Ra-- HEY!

[ Weasel already reaching for cookie but draws back with a sheepish grin. ]

Sorry about him. He's a pig disguised as an ermine.

But... what does the GFC do exactly?

It's nice to meet you-- [Watches the creature scurry to the snacks.] Help yourself, just...leave some for others? [Hungry little thing...]

We're the ones responsible for all the fun activities that take place here at Garden! This year's Homecoming is sure to be better than last year's. [Crosses his arms with a soft smirk.] Especially considering this will be only the second Homecoming event we had.

Homecoming... yeah, I heard of that. Seems a lot of people are talking about it! Looks like a pretty big event.

[ Weasel's happy with one cookie. He just likes the flavor. ]

It is. The only reason why it's such a big fuss this year is because of the Homecoming Court. That's actually new!

[Thinks over that question.] We'll definitely need people to help with making signs. The earlier we start, the more time we'll have if there are extra activities. [Looks to Shin curiously.] Are you good at art?

[And then to Ras.]

...or you?

Homecoming Court? Gotta say this really isn't something we've encountered before.

[ And a pause at his question back. ]

Maybe she'll be willing to help.

We're in the same boat on that. [Chuckles]

We don't need anything fancy like that! Just something simple will suffice. [Also, he doesn't really want to get involved with any princess.]

Weeeeell, I think we can manage! So.. you guys got anything really big planned? Sounds like The Garden's just buzzing with the idea of this big,,, schindig happening.

Right now, there are games, rides and such planned. What kind is still a secret! I plan to perform something, but I need more time to think on what song I could do.

Sounds big! We'd be happy to help out if ya need an extra hand...

[ Sideglance at weasel. ]

...Or paw.

[That's not nice to say!]

Then you'll just need to come and watch the show then! [Getting so huffy from a tiny creature with a big mouth!]

[ A.. aw! He was just being frank! Flustering rodent a moment. ]

[ Facepalm from the reaper. ]

...oh. [Oops! Bows at about 45 degrees.] My apologies, then! And thank you.

[ Honest smile from the reaper. ]

We'd love to hear you sing sometime!

[The blanket is a bit of a surprise, and quite a departure from the usual classroom desks she's used to conducting meetings at. Still another difference to note, and hopefully adapt to.

Mitsuru keeps silent until the person sitting on the stage finishes writing, before politely clearing her throat.]

"Hello."

[A polite nod of the head, and another quick once over of both the person and the area. It's still a lot to take in and adjust to.]

"I take it you are the head of the Garden Festival Committee? I saw the video announcement."

[He looks up and blue eyes go wide. That face...]

...Miss Mitsuru?!

"Hm?"

[She looks clearly puzzled for a moment. As far as she knows, introductions have not been made.

But, Mitsuru is quick to shut her eyes, and get her expression to switch back into a less bewildered expression.]

"My apologies, Mister,"

[She searches for the name for a moment, thinking back to the recording.]

"Gakupo. I don't think I've had the pleasure of being introduce to you?"

[Translation: I don't recall ever meeting you. How, then, do you know my name?]

[This is perhaps the first time he remembers someone, but they don't recognize him. He looks a bit bewildered...]

But...we have met.

"I'm afraid that I can't recall meeting you before."

[And, that should be that. She has other things that she came here for, and turns her focus over to them. Conveniently, that also means that she can break eye contact and look at the stage equipment in the Quad.]

"I digress, however. I came here to see what the situation was for this festival you're planning. As well as if you required any assistance."

[And Time Compression strikes again. He sighs, but smiles wryly.]

My apologies, then. [Bows to her. Guess he'll have to start from scratch. Stands upright again.] We can use all the assistance we can get. Homecoming is coming up, and we have a good amount of ideas for everyone, but it's not enough.

Different games are being arranged, there will be a few rides as well. I also plan to perform a musical number for everyone.

Perhaps we can brainstorm ideas while waiting for others to come along?

"A sensible idea."

[And right as she says that, a standard Garden notebook is drawn out of that omnipresent book bag she carries about. She quickly writes down -in clear, legible english, no less- several categories on the paper.]

"Games, rides,"

[From the way she says those as she writes them down, she sounds a bit...Puzzled, but commits them to paper anyway.]

"And a performance. All noted."

[Wow, a good note taker!]

I think I have someone who can help with sign making. We'll still need decorations and colors...

"Is there an art club or committee that could help with that?"

[Mitsuru sounds a bit doubtful as she commits the notes on signs to paper as well; she hadn't noticed any clubs fitting that description while reading up on Garden.]

"Or any crafts inclined people that you know of?"

[Judging from her questions, Mitsuru herself likely doesn't fall under that.]

That's a great idea, however, I'm not sure of either, really. I can inquire later.

[He won't be asking her, then.]

[She can, however, display a talent she does have.

Delegating.]

"As far as entertainment and attractions based off of that...Where I come from, it's usually the purview of students to create those things, based off of what homeroom their in. The results actually can be quite promising, and a good exercise in coordination and handling business."

[...Alright, that's a bit of a lie. Mitsuru does have a few skills other then that. Namely all things based around business. There's a certain spark in her eyes now, as she elaborates on that.]

"Perhaps...Given that this academy has majors, dividing the labor, assignments, and attractions based off one's focus would be efficient."

..oh dear... Um, a lot of the specializations here really don't focus on the arts, naturally. There are elective classes that do, but it would be more efficient to simply ask on the BBS. Also, we want this to be something everyone will want to participate in, not be assigned something they may not be interested in.

Homeroom here is mainly for attendance taking. [~~Do they even have homeroom?~~]

"I wasn't aware that wanting entered into it."

[That...Does sound a bit callous, so she quickly follows it up with an explanation.]

"My experience with festivals and the like, particularly school ones, usually involves the entire student body participating and organizing."

[She taps the list with a finger, looking a bit troubled at what she's heard.]

"However, I take it that this isn't the same, here?"

Not at all the same. How can something be fun if it's forced?

"By being in the proper state of mind. Responsibilities can be very fulfilling when handled correctly, and efficiently."

[She sounds like speaks from experience.]

"Still, you appear to have a different set of plans in mind."

[And she appears quite ready to note those plans. Back to the matter at hand, then?]

That doesn't sound fun at all...kind of sounds like preparing for a concert. Minus the practice sessions.

[Well, at least she's a good note taker.]

[The Group has taught her well, when it comes to correspondence!]

"It suffices; now then, as for the rest of these..."

[Dieu. She can't really avoid this, can she?]

"I admit, I don't have much of a talent when it comes to most things listed here, beyond organizing them."

Every bit of help is useful, so please don't worry too much.

[Mitsuru shuts her eyes to break off eye-contact, but there is a small smile playing across her face.]

"Thank you; that's kind of you to say, and encouraging to hear."
