Mitsuru 002 || [Lunch//Monday]
((OOC: With a wee bit of backdating.))
[Mitsuru takes to the first day of school as if she was born to it, and getting up at 6:00 AM and learning about military strategy and para-magic was all part of a normal day. She moves through the morning classes without faltering, pen in hand and book bag close by. Notes are taken, material is absorbed, and through it all she keeps a steady, composed mask on.
That mask stays in place up until lunch break. Specifically, about fifteen minutes past noon. Lunch is eaten quickly, to the point that she barely tastes any of it, and then it's a straight line out of the cafeteria and to another spoke off the wheel. That tour of the Garden stays fresh in her mind, and she makes good time, wasting very little of the break with trying to find her way to the library. Once there, she's quick to pick out where all the books on Guardian Forces and Para-Magic have been placed. And makes record time in putting half of them on a study table, and frowning over the material.
Most of the lectures, she was able to take in stride. But getting into the theory of what a Guardian Force was…It still makes her feel restless, and causes an odd sense of deja vu to wash over her. Penthesilea isn't helping much in that regard, either. The Persona had been quiet during the daylight hours, but now is insistent on pressing up against her thoughts…And making it that much harder to process the material in front of her.
Mitsuru frowns again, and sets back into reading with a will.]

[Mitsuru glances up from the book opened in front of her. She was half way through reading about the 'properties of para-magic when channeled through a conscious, material being' and having someone speaking cuts through that, scattering her thoughts for a moment.
Not that she's slow in gathering them all up, of course.]
"Ah, no, it's not a problem."
[Time to glance up from the book too, to make proper eye contact.]
"And yes, things are well enough. I just wanted to double check some information from classes with the library materials."
[Difficult information, her expression flickers for a moment to show that, before getting smoothed over again.]

[The young emperor dips his head in a small bow, his tone sincerely contrite.]
no subject
"Nothing like that; the material here is a bit different from what I'm used to studying."
[NOT difficult. She isn't going to admit that just yet, either out loud or to herself.
She inclines her head as well, to return the gesture and show some courtesy.]

[She shuts the book as she asks that, showing that continued conversation isn't discouraged. Truthfully, a short break might be good before plunging back into books.]

My studies dealt with the country and the Senate, how to care for the people of Archades and various degrees of the magistrate. It was vital that I learn of such matters from the very day I was capable of understanding reading and writing if I was to one day ascend to the throne.

[She shows some clear interest as she asks, too. In fact, all through that explanation, Mitsuru looks more and more intrigued. She does also mentally file away that 'Archades' doesn't sound like it's from earth, but places that in the back of her mind. Investigating those afore mentioned studies is more important, at the moment.]

[He shakes his head and then pushes a sunny little smile to pop up on his face, dimples peeking in his cheeks.]
But enough about that-- no one cares to hear of such dismal tales.
no subject
And she is quite familiar with that sort of smile; she's forced enough of them herself to recognize one on sight. She doesn't put on one of her own, but does nod.]
"In that case, what do you think of what is being taught here?"
[And, she may as well oblige with providing an opinion of her own.]
"As I said before, it's different from the norm. But, I do find it interesting."

You seem to have taken to Garden life.
no subject
And, it's to see a familiar face. She puts a polite expression on, making easy eye contact.]
"It's easy enough to integrate into an academy. Particularly when there's plenty of material to be studied."
no subject
[ She glances at the textbook a moment. ]
Am I right to assume these concepts of Guardian Forces and paramagic aren't native to your world?
no subject
[She taps the corner of one page as she asks, to confirm.
The next question, however...Is tricky. The Dark Hour and Persona weren't common knowledge for most people. And even after jumping worlds, Mitsuru is uncertain just how much of that she wants to disclose.]
"Most of the theory here is...Not commonly encountered where I'm from. The majority of people don't believe in things like magic, beyond a mythology to study for cultural purposes. For the most part, it's relegated to simple fantasy."
[
Lessons from a certain glasses wearing nurse notwithstanding. And with all that said, it's worth noting that she glances down at the text as she speaks, rather then making eye contact.]
Just a heads up! I switched icons for her. XD;
[ A slight glance at the text. ]
In the past, however, there was mutual respect between the humans and those they now realign as legends and fantasy.
[ A moment to snap her fan open. ]
I do apologize if I'm bothering you, Mitsuru, was it?
Okay! :D
[Yeah, she appears to have decided to be a touch tight lipped about summoning helpful spirits via suicide for now.
Her eyes flicker over that fan for a moment; a touch unusual, but not completely uncommon where she's from. It isn't unheard of that some of the more...Eccentric students liked them, from what she'd seen in the hallways at Gekkoukan. It also gives her something else to focus on, instead of direct eye contact.]
"Not at all. I'll want to commit as much of this to notes and memory as possible before lunch is done, but a small break wouldn't be frowned upon."
Re: Okay! :D
[ French would the the last way of classifying this princess. Eccentric and extravagant... perhaps. ]
Without a break, I feel you'd be in for an imminent burnout, my dear...
no subject
"Thank you for your concern, but I should be able to manage myself better then that. Studying is something I'm very used to."
no subject
It shows. You give the impression of one who does quite well in the academic field, if you don't mind my saying so...

[Mitsuru pulls back a little further from the books, partially for some breathing space, but also so that she's sitting up a little straighter.]
"I'm hopeful that I'll perform at the same level here as I did in Iwatodai."
