Hello everyone!
It certainly is quite nice to be back.
For those who are new here, my name is Belle and I will be the new instructor for (CLI 101) Composition and Literature on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; (ENG 099) Understanding, Speaking and Writing English on Tuesdays and Thursdays. As of the moment, I am going through all the lesson plans and grade books to see where everyone is at, but rest assured things will be fine to progress come classes. If any questions are needed to be asked, please do not hesitate to seek me out or respond to this post with them.
Thank you and I look forward to meeting you all in time.

And I am settling in just fine -- if only I could surmise what my husband is up to now...

If I could have a moment of your time, I'm wondering if you could help me on a Shakespeare question.

Certainly, I would be happy to help. Would you rather it be in person or would you be more comfortable having a conversation face to face?

Actually hang on. [Sends PM.]
PM
[Totally doesn't explain beyond that.]
PM - Marco you are so lucky she tried for restraint.
There are several that are truly lovely for a proposal. Here are some I have always found quite beautiful.
One half of me is yours, the other half yours
Mine own, I would say; but if mine, then yours,
And so all yours.
(The Merchant of Venice, 3.2.17-9)
My bounty is as boundless as the sea,
My love as deep; the more I give to thee,
The more I have, for both are infinite.
(Romeo and Juliet, 2.2.139-41)
He is the half part of a blessed man,
Left to be finished by such as she;
And she a fair divided excellence,
Whose fulness of perfection lies in him.
(King John, 2.1.447)
Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimm'd;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance or nature's changing course untrimm'd;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade
Nor lose possession of that fair thou owest;
Nor shall Death brag thou wander'st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou growest:
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this and this gives life to thee.
(Sonnet 18)
If none of these are to your liking, I would be happy to help you further in finding a well deserved one.

...I should not of been drinking any sort of beverage when reading this comment.
He in canon called Oprah a genius. I'm assuming he followed her book club too. In Russia.
...all of my amusement, you can has now.
Yay!!
LJ has stopped conspiring against me, finally
Fft. It's still taking me ten someodd tries to just get one reply posted. ;;
I try to choose different books to focus on with each new quarter, and am not yet sure of next quarters selections. However, a compilation of classic literature by different authors would give you some familiarities as to what we will be covering. We have some lovely selections of poetry and dramas in the library.

Beginning to think I may have spoken a bit too soon. /kicks LJ. In heels.
It seems to be coming around for me, atm... Hope it stays that way or else it gets no cookies! >|
Well, if you are interesting in recommendations, works by William Shakespeare are always worth it to read, as well as books by Charles Dickens. Romeo and Juliet is not as lengthy as some others, but it is a worthwhile read to get the full story.
We will cover at least one non-fiction work, to get a good grasp of the underlying structure. Last I saw, the selections in those sections were still quite wonderful! Have you found anything you would recommend that you would read again?
- Instructor Belle
It better. >( Disney-based cookies are the best cookies!
Esp. if they have adorable Disney faces!
'Religion of the Pscyhe' is one of I have not had the pleasure of reading. I will have to rectify that soon. Thank you.
