Garden's stayed the same and become completely different in the time that I was gone. People have come and gone, or I've forgotten. Let's hope it's not the latter.
Anyway, I'm Aya Brea. Instructor Brea to any students, as I'm teaching Limit Break Theory now. Let's see whether we can get some of that energy out of you and doing useful things. I'm sure we can.
Anybody taking my classes should meet me just outside Garden at your scheduled time. We'll be practising outside. No finals since I'm... late but that doesn't mean you can slack off.
---
[There will be a woman with short blonde hair standing near the entrance to Garden. She's got her gun out and beside her is a training dummy with a LED damage counter attached to it.
While she's just waiting for people to hopefully turn up to her class, there's nothing to say that people can't go bother her regardless, right? After all, people are streaming in walking past her and she's half looking for anybody she vaguely recognises.]
(( ooc: backdating is fine, and I hope I've done this right, haha. ))

[Thus, stealing time just before classes began in the morning, the cadet approaches, stopping to salute properly at a respectful distance.]
no subject
At ease.
no subject
Ma'am, you're the new Limit Break Theory instructor?
no subject
Yes, indeed I am. Are you one of my students? I don't think you are, your profile would have come up on my roster...

[Aya takes a moment to look at her own gun before putting it back in its holster on her hip.]
I could fight with one, if I had it. I could probably mend one with a bit of help. Fickle thing. But beyond knowing how to use it, I don't know much else.
no subject
I already know they're my weapon of choice, and my Limit Break is almost certainly going to be in keeping with what other people can do, but I'm primarily concerned about the specifics. That's why I asked, ma'am.

[She recites all this very casually; someone has obsessed entirely too much about her weapons...]
Beyond general mastery of Limit Breaks, the finisher part is what I really need to work on most when I take the class.
no subject
Look um... I didn't catch your name but the crux of the matter is, a Limit Break is a reflection of you as much as what you can do. Because this energy's primal. It comes from deep in your soul when you need it. That's why even users of the same Limit Break never really have the same Limit Break. Because no two souls are the same.
Shall I demonstrate?
no subject
[Truth is, years of fangirling and obsessing over the weapons have somewhat biased her already to the Renzokuken route -- though her finishers would ultimately be nothing like the Commander's...]

[Aya closed here eyes and raised her hand. She focused her attention on herself and the Aura spell.]
Aura.
[A snap of the fingers and the spell was cast on her. She felt all her cells singing almost immediately, in her deepest bones she felt that surge of power again.]
Liberation!
[Aya was surrounded by a bright red energy. She put her hands to heart as she allowed the Parasite Energy to surge through her. A second later she had snapped her hands palms out to her sides. Aya's gun was out of its holster, held in her right hand.
Now it was just a blur of red and the yellow of Aya's hair as she zipped around the target, aiming energy shots at it. All the shots made contact of course and there it was - overdive. If Maria noticed carefully, she would have seen a blur of red leave Aya's body and make a beeline straight for the target. The target seemed to "combust" and the red blur returned to Aya's body. The red glow surrounding Aya faded as she felt the burst of energy leaving her and she returned to her normal status, breathing heavily.]
no subject
That's great! I wouldn't have imagined that sort of combination from a gun-based attack!
[She can forget to be a serious student sometimes, too.]
no subject
Instructor?
[She hopes this is the right teacher]
no subject
Yes? Are you here for Limit Break Theory? You've come to the right place if so.
no subject
I am here for Limit Break Theory. It is a pleasure to be in class with you, Instructor.
no subject
All we're going to do today is simply improve on your technique. I shall cast an Aura spell and you have the duration of the spell to inflict as much damage as you can on the training dummy. I'll observe you and tell you what you need to improve upon.
Sound fair?
no subject
Fair enough, ma'am.
[ She takes out a pair of connected complicated-looking grips with short bars attached. With a flip of a switch, the bars crackle with electricity. Think nunchaku light-sabers, in short.
I'm ready
no subject
[Aya waves her hand in the air. She concentrated her focus on Shelke and snapped her fingers.]
Aura.
[The spell was cast. Now she would be able to perform Limit Break even though she was probably at full health.]
Begin!
no subject
Actually, the fact of that matter is that she doesn't look very comfortable now either. Since this morning things have felt...Off. Flashes of stillness in her mind, followed by a brief, feverish sensation, which do nothing to make classes go any easier. Mitsuru had been hoping that a breath of fresh air might help with that, explaining why she's outside and taking a quick break between classes.
Naturally, she also sees the lesson set up and takes note of it.]
"Instructor."
[She gives a polite bow of the head.]
"I wasn't aware that there was a class scheduled out here."
no subject
[Aya turned around. She was looking in the other direction trying to see whether there were anymore students for her classes.]
Oh, yes... Well, my class is very hands-on so I don't think Headmaster would approve if I did it inside and destroyed half the classroom.
[She smiles at Mitsuru, taking note of how she looked... a little under the weather? Was that it?]
no subject
[A touch under the weather, from the looks of it. Not that such a thing will keep Mitsuru from the proper formalities, if she has any say in it. There's no smiling back, but she does make sure to keep eye contact established.]
"Introductions appear to be in order; I'm Mitsuru Kirijo, currently a first year at Garden."
no subject
Also, Persona + Parasite Eve + Pyrokinesis = PROFIT?
[Knowledge NEVER hurts; that's one thing she's learned already.]
"That said...May I inquire what your class is?"
[The fact that it requires a lot of space and may involve collateral damage does grab her attention, at the very least; that's clear to tell from her expression.]
Extreme Profit!
[She ended it there and simply pointed her hand to the training dummy.]
That said, you need a target to hit. And space to hit it in. So outside is best.
Yaaay!
[There's quite a bit behind that single word; 'Intriguing' and 'oddly-familiar-sounding' are in equal doses, with a side of 'that-seems-slightly-suspicious-although-I-can't-quite-pin-down-why.']
"I suppose that you can gain experience in a lot of things at this sort of academy."
[That said she turns to give the training dummy a glance over. It doesn't really look all that remarkable; fairly standard compared to all the other practice pieces she's seen in class. The damage counter is also given a close look, and Mitsuru finds herself wondering over just how the system is set up.]
"Still, it sounds like an interesting exercise. A bit metaphysical perhaps, but..."
[Oh.
That's a bit of an odd sensation. There's a moment where she feels (and looks) quite feverish, as the color seems to go right out of her face, save for her forehead and cheeks.]
no subject
Well hey there! Don't remember seein' you around here before!
[Also, he's pretty wet. Apparently he was out for an early morning swim? Feel free to revel in the sight of water trickling down his bronze-man-god chest, since he apparently owns no shirts.]
no subject
I'm... well, I'm a newly initiated Instructor here. I've been away on a few missions so I guess I haven't been to Garden in a while.
[She extends a hand.]
Aya Brea.
no subject
[He slaps a hand into hers for the shake. He's the sort of guy who can probably crack walnuts with his knuckles, but his handshake's pretty controlled.]
Jecht. Swimmin' and Aerobic Fitness Instructor.
no subject
[She doesn't let herself get too shaken over the handshake but what a grip!]
Pleasure to meet you.
no subject
[He grins as he pulls back his hand, then thumps his chest lightly.]
Early mornin' swim, but I never bother with shirts anyway. Coverin' up somethin' this good-lookin' is probably a crime, an' if it ain't it should be!
no subject
I was a police officer once, so I could probably advise you that it isn't a crime and it probably won't be at this rate.
Actually you'd fit in pretty well with the police at NYPD, Jecht.

[She realises she's said too much. Shaking her head, Aya changes the topic quickly.]
A lot of the guys knew a thing or two about fitness. Some got money on the side teaching kids at the local school when they were off duty.
no subject
[Clearing his throat.]
Uh, anyway, ya gotta be in top shape ta be a blitzballer. Just like any sport, right?
no subject
[After all these years Aya is still slightly oblivious to things like this.]
Nevermind. I never got to exchange my vows anyway. I got pulled away from my time before I could do. I guess technically I'm still a single woman.
[She laughed. A little too forcefully.]
no subject
[He rubbed the back of his head awkwardly.]
...hell. Ain't like I know if I'm married or not any more myself, so who'm I ta talk?
