A while back, I received permission from Headmaster to start a new club! I apologize for not posting about this earlier, but ah, you know how busy we Cadets can get sometimes :) I figure now's a good time as any, especially since Homecoming's right around the corner!

Anyhow, it's called the Academic Committee. In my homeworld, there was something called the Academic Decathlon - you might've had something similar called 'Knowledge Bowl' or 'Quiz Bowl' - where students competed for prizes based on how much they knew about math, science, literature, and so forth. I'm definitely not planning on it being as strenuous as the clubs back home, but I figure it'll be a fun way for people to learn more about various subjects as well as the kinds of worlds we all came from!

We'll either meet once a week on Tuesdays or Thursdays and then have monthly competitions towards the end of the month where we'll award prizes. If this sounds like something you're interested in, even if it's just to watch, please let me know! I'd love all the help I can get!

Thanks guys! I'm sure it'll be a blast. ♥

I have another question for you, Balamb Garden. How is it you would define friendship? What is a friend? Why are they so interesting? This concept is entirely foreign to me and my kind. And yet, it would seem that I have met a few people have come to call me this. I am unsure as to my own feelings now, because before I came here, friendship was something impossible due to my own nature and the way my kind was received. Here, however, it seems that it might be a possibility. But that requires me knowing what friendship is and how it works.

I suppose this is me asking for help. Another genuinely foreign concept. It seems I am learning quite a bit here that I never would have learned back home. I wonder if this feeling that I'm experiencing right now is gratitude. Perhaps it is. So then, the proper response is to say, "Thank you." Even if you have not yet replied. Then that means I am thanking you for reading this and possibly responding. Hm, and interesting concept.

Well, then.
Thank you for reading my query and responding.

[Marco has gotten used to a full workload, so this semester, having precipitously less means that he has too much time on his hands. Sure there's the usual "productive" things like club activities or working on methods to keep his family alive when he gets back home, but a pirate has to chill out and have fun. Thus one morning finds Marco hanging around the ceilings, trying to perch upside down like a fail bat. Or maybe a blue ninja. Friends might get randomly dropped upon (for his amusement) but as for the rest, well does anyone ever really look up? If they do, they'll see a half-phoenix, half-blond man chilling out, and getting dizzy. Pro tip: phoenixes are not meant to perch upside down for long periods of time. Or maybe ever. Moral of the story: Leave it to the bats.]

Well, at least I know my claws are strong enough. [Stifles a yawn, this makes him sleepier than it should.]

[These kinds of things had to be done.

With the new quarter going underway, Headmaster Cid had asked of Quistis to go into some of the classes and assess them. Not so much on the material being taught, but the way instructors interact with the cadets, whether they are accommodating the offworlders and native cadets alike. Of course the instructors and cadets haven't been given a warning prior, which makes everything all the more candid.

With a clipboard in her hand, Quistis quietly slips into the classroom to watch from the back.]

[OOC: So yeah… basically for anyone who has a cadet? Perfect time to try and get instructors into trouble if they hate them. Or, you know, try and show off how perfectly wonderful an instructor is. Anyone who's interested in having Quistis explore their class just tag in noting which class it is in the subject. Classes with NPC instructors are welcomed, too! Also, I doubt she'll be doing this all in one day so it'll be an ongoing thing throughout the week. Note which day you'd like her to visit a class!]

[It had been a long year since Lightning had last been here, walking through the turnstiles to get back into Garden. One year of chasing a monster all over the continent without any backup. One more year with only her thoughts as company, and not so much as a clue to get home for it. Just more gil and a teaching job to look forward to come morning.

Nothing had changed, really. Not even the place looked different as Lightning looked up, eyes narrowing in thought. Would she ever find a way back? Hard to say. But she was going to try, and standing around wasn't going to solve anything. So she stepped forward, never turning her head from what was in front of her.

It would honestly be a wonder if she didn't crash into someone or something, at the pace she was following.]
