Valentines events

Because we've been posting here a lot lately, both the host/ess clubs and the movie screening are going to be in this post under different threads.

Host and hostess clubs: Cafeteria; boys 0800-1200, girls 1330-1630.

Movie screening: Quad; setting up from 2000, film starts 2100 and runs about an hour and a half.

HOST AND HOSTESS CLUBS

[The cafeteria is decked out in red and pink with hearts and flowers everywhere, courtesy of the GFC! Each table now has a white tablecloth, a sign stating the name of the host or hostess, and a tea set (borrowed from some friendly Balamb townspeople). The GFC has taken over the serving area to supply their hosts and hostesses with more tea (in a variety of flavors) and snacks like cookies, tiny sandwiches, slices of cake, and leftover cupcakes and chocolate-covered strawberries from the deliveries, all heart-shaped and/or pink wherever possible. Some of the GFC members will be floating around to keep an eye on things (a few are even still dressed up from the morning's deliveries), but the hosts and hostesses are pretty much free to entertain their guests as they please.]

(OOC: Hosts and hostesses, please make your own threads for potential guests. Everyone, have fun! Just keep in mind that the boys and girls will be hosting at separate times, so your hosting dude's not going to get up from his own table to go to a chick's table. Forgot to sign up OOC-ly but still want your character hosting? Make a thread anyway! We won't judge.)

Mikuru Asahina

[Someone has talked Mikuru into wearing her Miracle outfit for this. As she waits for potential guests, she rearranges snacks on a plate. Why did she get talked into this. Why.]

[After this morning, Day wasn't quite sure why he walked back in---

Oh. Right. If he couldn't mock his senpai, he wouldn't know what to do with his time. He laughs as he walks over and effortlessly takes a snack from her plate.]

This whole thing's slagged, but... if you're nervous, you're not gonna get any guys.

That's a good thing. [Mikuru doesn't want to get any guys! She wants this to be over!]

[Gakupo wanted to thank her for the gifts, but once he sees her outfit, he just...stopped in the doorway. He's surprised, to say the least.]

[After another moment of shuffling cookies, Mikuru can feel herself being watched. Looking up, she catches sight of Gakupo, and...sinks in her chair. She doesn't mind being seen in this as much in a fighting context, but here, and by someone she knows?

[Mortifying.]

[Appearing behind her, smiling terribly like she does.]

I can't say I'm surprised to see you working something like this.

It would look weird if the leader of the Garden Festival Committee didn't participate...

[And it was indirectly her idea. She mentioned host clubs in a conversation completely unrelated to Valentines Day and some of the Committee kids went, man, that would be cute!]

[Maria is wearing just her cadet uniform. She's only doing this because she owes Mikuru one, she's not offering any more fanservice than necessary!]

[...though that cadet uniform does show off about two miles of athletic leg. But do you really want to flirt with a berserker overachiever girl>]

[The only reason why Shadow is here is to make sure there aren't trouble makers.

Seeing Maria in her uniform is definitely eye catching, considering what others are wearing. So he goes over to her.]

Are you sure you're celebrating the right occasion?

[She immediately salutes. Which she would have done under any circumstances.]

I'm not 'ceberating', sir, I'm serving.

Damian Razem

[He's probably the youngest host here today, but Day's as into this as a Batkid can possibly be. How so? Well, he's turning the charm up to eleven as he waits for people to sit down... by smiling at them.

It's very weird and out of character for people that know him (considering he's wearing a custom-tailored suit, no less), but he seems to be enjoying it, all things considered.]

[Mikuru, manning the food counter, has to stop herself from laughing every time she catches sight of Damian. It's like he's been taken over by an evil alien witch. Or something.]

[That wouldn't be too far off from the truth! Whenever he notices that she's watching, he simply waves at her before raising his teacup.

If she wants a piece of the Damian, she should've just admitted it already!!]

[It's questionable whether Ahki has shown up on purpose or wandered into the area, but hey, he's here now and that's all that matters.]

I'm waiting for guests. [As if that was the most logical response! Bilal takes another sip of tea and gestures for Ahki to take some.]

What else'm I supposed to be doing?

[Someone forgot to notify Tom of the fact that a) he'd have to charm the ladies while doing this and b)... that'd he'd have to dress up. Poor guy's dressed simply in black jeans and a nice bomber jacket, and he can't even light up for the occasion.

So he's just awkwardly sitting there and pouring a non-alcoholic drink for himself as he watches people pass by. Man, he really should've thought about dressing nicer...]

if anyone actually wants to go for Tom, it probably happens before this...

[Enter one Sharpay Evans, storming in with a bouquet of roses in her hand.

[Upon reaching Tom's table, she puts down the bouquet just long enough to pick up his sign and rip it in half. When GFC member starts to come over, protesting, she all but screams at the poor kid--] He has a girlfriend!

[She doesn't even wait for a reaction before she picks up her roses again, grabs Tom's hand, and drags him out of the cafeteria. The whole thing takes less than thirty seconds.

[Sorry, ladies.]

[He barely has time to process the rest of what happened; he's already out the door by the time he realizes exactly what Sharpay just did. Wait, does this mean...

He raises an eyebrow at the roses before looking at her again and grinning.] Soooo.... ["Yes?"]

Nice jacket, Bronson~. [Grell loops an arm with Tom, adjusting his collar even though it needed no adjusting.] It goes well with your...chest.

Nepeta Leijon

[Nepeta thought this was a sweet holiday, and it would be an understatement to say that she was quite interested in romance. Usually she would not participate in something like this, given her shy nature but it seemed harmless enough. It would be nice to just make someone smile, or meet new people, so why not give it a try?

She isn't in a dress--that part she is still uncomfortable with but at the very least she got dressed up (with someone's help). She is wearing a fancy tux and her hair, which has grown significantly is pulled into a loose pony tail.

She's looking a little nervous, but is smiling and patiently awaiting her next client.]

[Kate wanders over holding a vase with a dozen roses with a little calico-looking cat plush attached by a ribbon. She offers Nepeta a sheepish smile as she puts it down on her table.] I have a tendency to go overboard when I feel guilty... Thanks so much for the rose, Nepeta. It was really nice of you. [Someone had totally not seen the sign ups.]

[She plops herself down in the chair for Nepeta's table, the skirt she decided to wear fluffing up as she crossed her legs one over the other.]

Hey, Leijon! Not looking too shabby today I see~.

MOVIE SCREENING

[Come nightfall, the quad is set up with a large screen over the stage and a projector before it. A handful of beanbags (like the tea sets, mostly borrowed from townspeople) and couches (begged, borrowed, and stolen from around Garden) are scattered around the quad for those who come early enough to get first dibs. Before the movie starts, some of the GFC members are hovering around the stage with small buckets of popcorn for sale.

[The film itself, projected onto the screen at 2100, is a typical teen romance: A mess of cliches, hit and miss acting (though at least the two leads have chemistry), pretty people, and high production values (ie. no outright mistakes, good quality sound and picture). It might be enjoyable if you don't think too hard about it.

[Want an actual plot? Girl meets boy in senior year of high school, it turns out they're old childhood friends, girl pines after boy, boy thinks they're like brother and sister, ship tease happens, girl settles for another dude, boy realizes he likes girl, boy confesses love, relationship upgrade, they drive off together into the sunset to this song.]
