oo1. This is me in Grade 9 [action/open]
[Lost Junpei is lost. The school deal he can handle. The dorms deal he can handle. Even the giant inexplicably floating island-sorta-thing he can handle. But he's not all that great with directions, and he's pretty sure he's been past this corridor about six times already. He doesn't want to ask the creepy guys in robes with turkey platters over their faces--they don't look very hospitable--but he's starting to wonder if he's ever going to find his dorm room. A217... A217...
Crap.
These books are getting heavy. He really wishes he had his stupid purple backpack right about now.
Hefting the books, Junpei turns down yet ANOTHER corridor, hoping perhaps to find a big helpful YOU ARE HERE sign.]
[Perhaps he'll find [Bad username or site: witchesreign title=you @ livejournal.com] instead? 8D]

Shit. Think, Junpei, think. What were some of the useful things they'd taught them to say in class...?]
I am looking for za... [Dorms. Dorms. Dorms...!] Drums.

No, no, za... [Uhm... Dorms. DAMMIT, what was the word? Well, they were kind of like a hotel, right? Maybe that would be easier.] Hoteru. Hote...rlu. H-- [Goddammit. Why were L's so freaking hard??]

convenient second random corner? IDK
So, he doesn't appreciate the sudden presence behind him, nor does he stop to think about who it is. Maybe it's fate, or maybe he's just so used to Junpei that his fist flies up before he really thinks about it. ]
YAAAY
Dammit, what the hell, man?? You always just friggin' punch people in the face when they turn corners? Jeez, you could'a broken my no--
[He stops dead in the middle of his sentence as he opens his eyes and looks up to glower at his assailant. No... it... it CAN'T be...]
S-Senpai?
I've been waiting for this!
He is about to turn around apologize when Junpei starts talking.
Well, that explains things. Akihiko glances over his shoulder. ]
...Junpei?
[ He may not look it right away, but he is relieved. A familiar face, and a colleague, a friend--though the later may be said loosely after the previous night at the hot springs--helped immensely. He turns around completely, holding a bag over his shoulder like he normally would his coat. ]
What are you doing here?
Don't MESS with me! >:[
Did you see that, Shinji?
Shinji: /sees what you did there.
...Okay, that's kind of creepy. Ceiling!Shinji is watching you?
better than Basement!Shinji... >.>;

You've gotta be kidding? We really need to study that much?

I dunno--they just gave me all'a these books. Wish they'd'a given me a bag to put 'em in. [He hefts the books again.] So there's other Japanese students here, too?
no subject
[he notices the struggling, and a lightbulb goes off]
Oh do you need some help? And yeah, I'm from Inaba. You?

LJ needs to notify me of this next time. :|

Ryoji, the person, and Ryoji's paperwork go flying everywhere.]

But he's so intent on finding out which classroom is closest to his dorm room that he isn't really paying attention when he turns a corner. A crash, a yelp, and a scattering of papers later, Junpei has tumbled backward onto his rump and is now starting to wonder why he was made the butt of some cosmic joke today.]
This place really needs traffic lights... That's the second time today I've-- Ryoji??
[This cosmic joke keeps getting better and better.]

JUNPEI-KUN!
[There was something to be said about Ryoji's lack of consideration about personal space at times. Still, it was Junpei! If there was anyone who he'd wanted to see more, Ryoji would be hard pressed to answer. So said, the shout of the other teen's name was all the warning he had before Ryoji had latched onto the other, wrapping Junpei a welcoming hug.]

Aa--! My bad, my bad, that's the-- Oh.
[She doesn't look like she'd speak Japanese. Okay, enough with the failing at communication bullshit. He's dropped off his books, he's just got a schedule in his hands by now, it's time to start using the translator thingy. Pulling it out of his pocket, he fiddles with it a moment before he figures out how to turn it on, and then makes a few funny noises at it to see how it sounds.
Ooh. Weird.]
Can uh... Can you understand me now? Wow, this thing's kinda nifty...

Incoming, hee ho!
[Minato quickly moves away, avoiding a collision with some obviously new student carrying books who had just turned a corner. Hey, that hat looks familiar...]
...Junpei?
no subject
At Minato's startled gasp, Junpei just drops the books unceremoniously and makes a sound not entirely unlike, "Aaaaaaa!" before hopping over the fallen pile of literature. Akihiko gets Bro GripsTM, but Minato gets a full-on Brofist. Junpei kind of can't believe his good fortune! Who'd have thought that ALL of his bros would be here?]
Hey! 'Sup, dude? Wasn't expecting to find any more of you guys here--this is awesome. Party time! [Maybe this weird floating school in some alternate dimension wouldn't be so bad after all.]
no subject
It's great to see you here too, man. Well, not so much since it means you got thrown from our world into this one, but still.
So, I take it you just got here?

She honestly has to say that she is surprised to see a familiar baseball cap. Enough that it shocks a name out of her.]
"Iori!?"
reposted for tense fail derp
When a voice rings sharply in the air, however, Junpei instinctively flinches, dropping the books with a loud clatter and quickly snapping his hands up defensively. Uh oh, he knows that tone. Mitsuru doesn't much like surprises, so when she sounds like that, it means--
... Wait, Mitsuru?
Uncurling from his defensive hunch, Junpei blinks at the redhead before him, then grins and points at her, like he's just found the last person in a game of hide and seek.]
Senpai!? You're here, too?
[This was like some bizarre sideways family reunion or something.]
no subject
[She's not proud of how long it's taking her mind to wrap itself around the simple concept that Junpei Iori has somehow made his way here. And is carrying a pile of textbooks that make it look like he may actually apply himself to studying.
...
...In hindsight, perhaps this isn't such a simple concept after all. Mitsuru still works on getting her mental feet back under her, though, and tries to take charge of the situation.]
"As have Arisato, and to a lesser degree Amada...And Mochizuki as well."
[She won't be dropping the 'female alternate' bomb just yet.]
"But since this is the first I've seen you here, am I correct in guessing that you just recently arrived?"

Are you new here? You look a little lost.
[assuming this happens after he drops off his books, just to avoid some repetition]
Oh, hi there. [Oop! Wait, the new person was speaking English, it sounded like. Junpei fiddles with the translator a moment, then tries again.] Ah, sorry about that. Yeah, I'm new. Heh, I guess that's kinda obvious. [He gives the blue-haired boy a smile.] My name's Junpei. What's yours?
no subject
Don't worry about it, I was completely lost when I first got here. I still kind of am. My name is Ryu.
