oo1. This is me in Grade 9 [action/open]

[Lost Junpei is lost. The school deal he can handle. The dorms deal he can handle. Even the giant inexplicably floating island-sorta-thing he can handle. But he's not all that great with directions, and he's pretty sure he's been past this corridor about six times already. He doesn't want to ask the creepy guys in robes with turkey platters over their faces--they don't look very hospitable--but he's starting to wonder if he's ever going to find his dorm room. A217... A217...

Crap.

These books are getting heavy. He really wishes he had his stupid purple backpack right about now.

Hefting the books, Junpei turns down yet ANOTHER corridor, hoping perhaps to find a big helpful YOU ARE HERE sign.]

[Perhaps he'll find [Bad username or site: witchesreign title=you @ livejournal.com] instead? 8D]

convenient second random corner? IDK

[ He's standing there, minding his own business...actually, Akihiko is trying to figure his way around the place, too. And it's putting him on edge--the whole situation is putting him on edge, and half of him is expecting to wake up any moment.

So, he doesn't appreciate the sudden presence behind him, nor does he stop to think about who it is. Maybe it's fate, or maybe he's just so used to Junpei that his fist flies up before he really thinks about it. ]

I've been waiting for this!

[ Hm. That was odd. His typical reaction would not normally be to knock out whatever was behind him, but something just seemed to fall into place about the whole situation...

He is about to turn around apologize when Junpei starts talking.

Well, that explains things. Akihiko glances over his shoulder. ]

...Junpei?

[ He may not look it right away, but he is relieved. A familiar face, and a colleague, a friend--though the later may be said loosely after the previous night at the hot springs--helped immensely. He turns around completely, holding a bag over his shoulder like he normally would his coat. ]

What are you doing here?

Did you see that, Shinji?

[ His brows raise slightly at Junpei's description, but he has to admit, it's fairly accurate. Reality is taking its time sinking in; it all feels a little rushed, a little too organized. But there was nothing else to do than adapt, right? Junpei gets a short, low chuckle at that.

And a squeeze back on his hand for the effort. Definitely not the first person he would expect to meet at a military academy, but he's thankful none-the-less. Maybe with their efforts combined, they can get to the bottom of what's really going on.

Or maybe they'll both wake up the next morning to find that Mitsuru's execution was worse than he imagined... ]

Just a little while ago. They gave me an interview then shipped me off here. [ He takes a sweep of the hallway before his expression turns serious again. ] Have you seen anyone else?

...Okay, that's kind of creepy. Ceiling!Shinji is watching you?

[ Not one to just stand and watch--well, he could, but that's rude--Akihiko kneels down and hands him a few books. He didn't mean to punch him. Well, he did, but it was just instinct. Junpei may not have even deserved that one.

So... I guess this is actually happening, huh...? He hates to admit it, but...]

Yeah. I guess so.

[ He glances to the side for a moment. The translator that he was given, they work? He kept it in the bag and just decided to see if he could figure things out on his own. It had been relatively successful. ]

It is Monday, huh? [ Or...it is now. He could have sworn it was Thursday just a few hours ago...Akihiko shakes his head. ] No, you're the first. And maybe the last. [ A sigh. ] Dammit! None of this makes any sense...

A fair point, my friend.

[ Akihiko didn't take the explanation without some doubt. Considering they had been fighting against Shadows for a few years under a completely false pretense, he was allowed to be a little skeptical. But at this point, it felt like almost anything was possible. ] Right.

[ Schedule? Right. He did have to sign up for classes...just when he was finishing up his last year at Gekkoukan, too. So much for being an upperclassman. ]

I don't think I'll have any trouble applying myself to these classes. [ He pulls out a sheet of paper from his back pocket, eyes scanning the words quickly. ] Garden Code, Introduction to Weapons Training, Cadet Field Training, Math, Introduction to Para-Magic and Guardian Forces... [ Which he was still a little confused about. What of their Persona? ] Limit Break Theory, Boxing--[ Which, needless to say, he was excited about. ]--Psychology, Tactical Strategy, Rock Climbing, and the two classes in English. I don't want to have to rely on the electronic translators they gave us.

[ He stuffs the paper back into his pocket. The schedule suddenly sounded a lot more full than when he signed up... ]

What about you?

[identity profile] the-right-moves.livejournal.com 2010-09-22 06:05 am (UTC)(link)
They'll make you sound like an idiot? [ Well, he'll just leave it at that. Junpei did plenty of that even when speaking his native tongue, Akihiko couldn't begin to imagine what would ensue given his lack of talent with what they spoke here. Hell, he wasn't sure what he would end up saying. That was the only reason he took the translator--just in case.

Akihiko raises a thin brow. ]
Boxing, eh? [ Now, that was an amusing thought. Alright, he could deal, though. Junpei definitely had the spirit when he fought, but he completely lacked and form or grace. That didn't mean he was a lost cause, though.

Even better, they're in the same class? ]
Alright. But don't expect me to go easy on you.

[ A slight grin. ] You probably will suck. [ A pause. One that's perhaps a little too long. ] But so does everyone at first.
