oo1. This is me in Grade 9 [action/open]
[Lost Junpei is lost. The school deal he can handle. The dorms deal he can handle. Even the giant inexplicably floating island-sorta-thing he can handle. But he's not all that great with directions, and he's pretty sure he's been past this corridor about six times already. He doesn't want to ask the creepy guys in robes with turkey platters over their faces--they don't look very hospitable--but he's starting to wonder if he's ever going to find his dorm room. A217... A217...
Crap.
These books are getting heavy. He really wishes he had his stupid purple backpack right about now.
Hefting the books, Junpei turns down yet ANOTHER corridor, hoping perhaps to find a big helpful YOU ARE HERE sign.]
[Perhaps he'll find [Bad username or site: witchesreign title=you @ livejournal.com] instead? 8D]

reposted for tense fail derp
When a voice rings sharply in the air, however, Junpei instinctively flinches, dropping the books with a loud clatter and quickly snapping his hands up defensively. Uh oh, he knows that tone. Mitsuru doesn't much like surprises, so when she sounds like that, it means--
... Wait, Mitsuru?
Uncurling from his defensive hunch, Junpei blinks at the redhead before him, then grins and points at her, like he's just found the last person in a game of hide and seek.]
Senpai!? You're here, too?
[This was like some bizarre sideways family reunion or something.]

[She's not proud of how long it's taking her mind to wrap itself around the simple concept that Junpei Iori has somehow made his way here. And is carrying a pile of textbooks that make it look like he may actually apply himself to studying.
...
...In hindsight, perhaps this isn't such a simple concept after all. Mitsuru still works on getting her mental feet back under her, though, and tries to take charge of the situation.]
"As have Arisato, and to a lesser degree Amada...And Mochizuki as well."
[She won't be dropping the 'female alternate' bomb just yet.]
"But since this is the first I've seen you here, am I correct in guessing that you just recently arrived?"
no subject
Yeah, I saw Minato just a bit ago. Ryoji, too. Looks like we'll have a couple classes together. But... Ken is here? [He looks a little perplexed.] I know he's not quite your average elementary kid, but is he really ready for this kinda stuff? [Well, Ken's been through a lot, too. They ALL have, really. Maybe military school isn't so bad compared to other things.
He nods then.]
Yeah I just got here earlier today, got enrolled here by some weird scientist dudes. Oh, have you met up with Akihiko-senpai yet? He's here, too; looks like we both got here at the same time.
Heh, pretty much the whole gang is here, huh.
[He doesn't necessarily want to think about what this means--if Minato's been here for about four months then it's obvious there's some weird timeslip going on, because Junpei just saw everyone earlier today, by his clock. But if they're all here, and they're also there, then... How the hell does this work?]

[It's a bit unsettling, how many times she's gotten her composure yanked out from under her in the past minute. The fact that she can't keep her expression calm or neutral doesn't help much either, which Mitsuru tries to hide by kneeling down for a moment and picking up a few stray pieces of paper to hand over to Iori.
At least by then, she looks a little less like she just got pole axed.]
"...I wasn't aware that he'd shown up again. But you have my thanks for making me aware of it, Iori."
[Deep breath to smooth out anything out of place, and then,]
"You have a point. It looks like our numbers are increasing...Although I'm not certain whether that's an advantage, or something to worry over."
no subject
[Akihiko sure didn't seem to think he'd ever been here before when they'd spoken earlier...]
no subject
[She closes her eyes for a moment, trying to think back.]
"It wasn't for long, though. He vanished abruptly...With the only explanation being put forth that it was more 'Time Compression' at work."
no subject
[He shakes his head, then gives her a helpless half-grin.]
But if we have to be stuck here, it's nice to be stuck with friends. So... I guess I hope he sticks around a little longer this time. And me, too--I'd feel like a real douchebag if I just up and left without sayin' goodbye.
no subject
[Normally, that reprimand would be a bit stronger. But at the moment, she's also trying to properly grasp the time differences...As well as the sudden realization that Iori is apparently one month earlier then where she's at.]
"My apologies, but could you back up a moment? Did you just say 'November' instead of December?"
no subject
[He blinks at her inquiry, however, and rubs his chin.]
Yeah, November. It was the 28th, just a couple days after... [Well, he doesn't figure he has to remind her of what happened. Even if the others hadn't really trusted or liked Chidori much, the night she died is something that none of them would likely ever forget.]
no subject
[And she really doesn't say much more on the subject because...Really, what can be said? Grieving is a subject she's not very eloquent in, and the most effective coping strategy she's found is to have a routine to fall back on. It might not dull the pain very well, but it at least makes it manageable.
Speaking of which...]
"So, Iori, are you finding your way around well enough? Both to the dorms, and to the classrooms? It appears that you found the book stations easily enough."
no subject
Mm? Oh... [Changing gears again, okay. He's honestly happy to be off that subject.] Uhm... I think so. I mean, well, yeah I found the books okay. Now if only I could find a bookbag I might be in good shape. [He gives an exaggerated sigh, then perks up a bit. Ah! Right! Maybe they have some classes together. He had a few together with Akihiko, and boy is it gonna be weird to technically be in the same grade as him. Even if he wasn't ahead of him in grade in this place, Akihiko would always be 'senpai', though, and Mitsuru was no different.]
That reminds me, actually. [He pulls his schedule (http://no-sausage-fest.livejournal.com/1016.html#cutid1) out of his pocket and waggles it at her to compare.] What classes are you in? It'd be weird to be in a class with you, since you've always been an upperclassman to me, but Akihiko-senpai and I had a couple together.
[ooc: feel free to notice swim class and be dismayed. XD]
no subject
[She scans the class list, first impassively, and then with great effort expended to maintain a calm appearance. As much as she values Iori as a teammate, after those events in Yakushima she would prefer to avoid a shared swim class. She's not entirely certain whether driving class would be a good, or a bad thing.]
"...It appears we do share a few classes."
[She says that only after a long, long pause.]
"It should be an...Interesting experience, certainly."
no subject
Akihiko-senpai and I have a couple classes together. It'll be kinda strange to be in the same class with you guys, instead of a year behind. [The smile turns impish.] But don't worry~ You'll still always be my senpai.
no subject
[You are a Kirijo, Mitsuru. Face any problems with the proper amount of poise and dignity required. In this case, that means meeting Iori evenly in the eye, and making it very clear that this is not a joking matter. In the slightest.]
"...Swim class as well."
[It could, conceivably, be worse. She might be sharing it with Mochizuki.]
no subject
[In theory.
He freezes when Mitsuru informs him they have swim class together, though. Oh dear. While he certainly did join the class in the hopes of seeing a few nice bods in swimsuits, he hadn't counted on Mitsuru being one of them. He still remembers being executed that night in Kyoto, and that's definitely not something he wants repeated/.]
Oh, swim class, huh? [Gulp.] D-d-don't worry, senpai! I'll--I'll make sure nobody harasses you ladies in class! I mean it! You can count on Junpei! I'll beat the crap out of any peeping toms!
