[Balamb Garden has taken off around the Balamb coastline! The seaside and clear night sky can be seen through the windows and from the balconies. The halls are mostly deserted besides the stray student walking about, and even the usual faculty members are missing from their posts around the school. There's a certain festive energy through the air, the source coming from the happily decorated ballroom located on the second floor.

[At exactly 2100, as soon as the dinner rush ends, the Garden chime sounds and the intercom clicks on. The Headmaster speaks to the Garden.]

The Homecoming Dance is now beginning. Your attendance is requested at [2F] Ballroom.

I repeat, the Homecoming Dance is now beginning. Your attendance is requested at [2F] Ballroom. The ball will run until 2400. Students leaving the ball after curfew are to return to their dorms immediately.

The ball and its festivities tonight are being sponsored very generously by the Garden Festival Committee.

[After the announcement, the intercom falls silent. The faint sound of music can be heard from the second floor of the building.

[Within the ballroom, there is a stationary stand for punch and food, as well as roaming caterers offering drinks (grape juice) and canapes.]

Voting is now closed. There is a thread here for announcing and crowning the winners; on-lookers are free to react in the thread.

Attendance is entirely optional, so with most of the faculty at the dance, characters are free to roam the rest of the school! However, as Balamb Garden is flying around the Balamb coastline, they will not be able to leave (unless you can fly or really like heights and don't mind injuries...), and any characters left behind will be stranded for a few hours.

[ When he follows along, she follows as well, but as her feet touch the dance floor, she does a spin away, pulling Gakupo's arm and with him arm, him as well. Now close to him, she takes his hands and pushes her palms to his palms. ]

[The spin is unexpected, as is this new dance she's apparently teaching him, but he's always up for learning new things. Gakupo gives a nod follows, remembering the previous moves.]

Are there often events to dance at in your world?

Of course! Mother always ensures a feast and gala for each war and birth and marriage.

[ She moves close to him, smiling up at him. ]

She is the Goddess of Love, after all.

Those are a lot of events. There must be one quite often!

[He blinks at her mother's title.] Is she...

[ She guides him into stepping sideways, one foot over the other, slowly. ]

[He follows the side steps carefully, not wanting to step on her toes.]

I had no idea you were royalty~! So wait, she's a princess and a goddess?

Is that strange? [ She then pushes her hands against his, bowing a bit, and then stepping close so that she was against him. ]

[There is certainly no such thing as personal space with her, is there.]

Well, perhaps not. But it's a bit rare for royalty to be deities as well.

Deities? If only you knew... [ She then pushes back, hands rising up, and she makes a spin, arms up and hands in the air, then drops them back down, spinning to Gakupo and places her hands once more to his. ]

[He laughs nervously because he doesn't know a lot about myths and legends outside of his homeland.

He recognizes this pattern and finds it a bit easier to follow along with her.]

Are all royalty gods and goddesses, then?

No. Gods and Goddesses are terms that Midgardians made for us. We use them in respect, but do not fully acknowledge their false promise.

Ah, I see. What false promises do such titles come with? [He thinks this is the part where they side step again, right?]

[ exactly so! she pulls him along. ] We believe ourselves indestructible. Our immortality does not mean lack of vulnerability to fatality.

I can see how they can be confused by that notion.

Mhmm. Dip. [ She pushes against him once more, but waits so that he can follow through as well. ]

A-Ah! Right! [He almost forgot that part and follows through with the dance.]

[ When they dip, she moves back and into her spin, then spins back, this time lacing her arms about his neck. ] Subtle?

I'm starting to think that isn't entirely in your vocabulary of often used words. [He gives a wry smirk before placing hands at her sides. As appropriately as possible.]

I am of seventeen years in Midgardian terms. It is allowed. [ She follows his moves now. ]

[Okay, he can deal with seventeen.]

What about non-Midgardian terms? [His moves are pretty simple compared to what they were doing earlier. Just a simple slow dance.]

I am considered having come of age. [ She presses close, laying her cheek against his chest. ] Age is an entirely different concept for gods.

I can understand that. [Gakupo glides to the music with Sigyn.] There were always a set age for certain things back home, if only to protect youths.

To count the years would be tiring. Age is slow to our kind. [ She then cocks her head to the side, smiling slyly when she realizes something. ] Is that why you looked so scandalized when you met me by the pool?

[Oh, that incident. Gakupo tinged slightly before clearing his throat.]

I hadn't expected you to be in a swimsuit. By the pool... [Okay, that sounded better in his head than out loud.]
