Fourth wall mingle post

[For the regular denizens of Balamb Garden, it's an ordinary day...until more off-worlders start showing up, for only a few hours at a time. Unsure what to make of these more temporary visitors, the Garden faculty is holding off on registering them as cadets or offering them jobs.

Mod note, to reiterate:

4th wall characters can only be seen at certain hours of the day. They may appear for two hours a day, or four... or seen only in the early morning... the time doesn't matter to us, but they're not permanently here. They may return to Garden again through the rest of the month, but they're not around 24/7.

Like apped characters, 4th wall characters can't be ridiculously-sized. Transformers, Gundams, and similar concepts/characters will become human-sized (and in the case of mechas, not allowed altogether.)

Players (like you and me) are not allowed to visit Garden. We're breaking the 4th wall, not destroying it altogether!

Apart from this post, 4th wall characters are free to reply to open posts in witchesreign or open logs in concoursec. Apped players have the option of closing their posts to in-game characters only.

All BBS posts are locked to in-game characters only. 4th wall characters do not have access to any sort of logged in posts unless they hijack someone else's log-in---and in those cases, we need to know this beforehand.

For those unfamiliar with the setting, here is more info on Balamb Garden's facilities and layout. Additionally, some of the NPCs around and some player characters may be wearing Balamb Garden's cadet or SeeD uniform.

[Touma's kind of flabbergasted, because he's far more used to random digimon trying to wreck things than play games.] I enjoy chess.

Oh, okay! But that's really weird... Guilmon doesn't remember you at all, and there's only one of me! Hey, did you visit when I was asleep~?

What's chess? Does it involve running? Or digging? Digging is fun!

[He sideeyes Guilmon thoughtfully at "only one of me", but shakes his head to the question about a visit when he was asleep.]

No, it doesn't; it's a board game of strategy.

Huuuh. I gotta ask Takato about that, then.

A game on a board? Is it hard? Sounds harder than digging. [And then he notices something.] Hey, is that a Digivice? It looks funny!

[He'd like to ask about Takato, or rant about chess, but the digivice is always more important. He unclips it from his belt, holding it up for Guilmon to see; Gaomon looks curiously out the window at him.]

Yes, it is. Are you more used to a different model?

Yeah, yours doesn't look like Takato's or Ruki's or Jen's or anyone else's. Is it an old one? Takato told me some of the old ones looked different. Or are you a future person with a future one? That's cool too! Maybe that's why Guilmon hasn't met you yet...

[Hey, there's somebody in there!] Hi, I'm Guilmon! What's your name? Wow, it must be nice to be so little you can follow your partner around everywhere like that.

... I'm not little.

[Stifling a laugh, Touma tries to herd Guilmon towards an empty classroom.] I can let him out if we find somewhere more private.

[Guilmon doesn't mind being herded - he's intrigued by the unfamiliar Digivice and he senses an opportunity for more friend-making.] Oh, so you're just really far away?

[youngnobelman]

Well, I suppose I am little right now, but this isn't my usual size.

[Touma gets them into a classroom - thank god it's Saturday - closes the door, and holds up his digivice again.] Gaomon, realize!

[Tada!] Sir, yes sir!

[Oh wow, a Digimon actually came out! He's never heard the name Gaomon and doesn't recognise the smell (which he ascertains by invading Gaomon's personal space), but that's okay, he seems cool. Reminds him a little bit of Renamon, except bluer.]

Hi Gaomon! Do you like playing chess too?

[Gaomon freezes up when his personal space is invaded, looking to Touma uncertainly.]

I think I would enjoy it more if the pieces were easier for me to move. [Boxing gloves make chess hard, yo.]

Pieces and a board? That's gotta be hard! Probably too hard for Guilmon, huh... maybe if I evolved, but then the pieces would have to be super big.

[And now that mention of evolution...] Guilmon, is this Takato you mentioned earlier your partner?

[tiptoetotomorrow]

That's right, that's right! Takato is Guilmon's Tamer! He drew a picture of me and wished really hard, and then I was born. What about you and Gaomon?

[A different digivice, a 'Tamer', a digimon being born from drawing a picture... It should not surprise Touma so much that another world has digimon too, but it does.]

He came through from the digital world near my house, and I was the first person to come across him. [He and Gaomon share a smile, remembering - it was several years ago.]

Is Takato here?

Yep! He's... oh, I guess I left him, haha. He'll definitely be here, though! Takato always comes back for me.

[That's a relief; Touma was totally going to take responsibility for Guilmon if his partner wasn't here.]

Would you like to look for him now?

Aw, but we didn't get to play even one game yet! Hey, Gaomon, do you like tag more than your Tamer does?

... Yes, but I prefer hopscotch.

Hopscotch? Hey, I know hopscotch too!

[He demonstrates with a hop, a skip and an ungainly crash into a desk because he is in a classroom.]

Owowow... You both like difficult games, huh? I can never remember where my feet are supposed to go.
