Food for day! [Action/maybe a little BBS]
Cadets, staff, and faculty! It is time to celebrate! And of course, there is only one proper way for a humble Home Ec teacher to go about this:
Tonight, a feast on the lake shore!
[To call this a feast is to undersell it significantly. On the beach that evening is a massive spread of food laid out on every cafeteria table, normal table, classroom desk, or other horizontal surface that Champloo could get his hands on. Soups and samplers; steaks and fowl; stews and curries; baked fish, baked potatoes, baked Alaska; Spicy Netherdactyl Wings that actually distort the air above them from pure capsaicin concentration; vegetables, stir-fried, saladified, or simply steamed; cakes and cookies, ice cream, pudding and mousse...]
[It goes ON like this. Whatever you may think of Champloo's personality or teaching style, there's no denying that the man can cook.]
[In the center of this chaos, serving and answering questions and keeping order, such at is it, Champloo just can't stop grinning. Which has described him ever since Homecoming.]
[Dig in.]

The little Monkey King's size is certainly deceptive -- he's grabbing and packing away far more than he should be able to and looking gleeful the entire time.
Of course, during a pause in his frenzied feeding, he tosses the cook a glance.]
Got anything with peaches in it?
no subject
Peach cobbler, peach pie, peach dumplings, baked chicken with peaches, and fresh peaches with light sugaring.
GODDAMN LATEST I hate being sick.
Remind me to raid your kitchen more often.
[nomnomnom peaches.]

Not even for a little while?

[Champloo glances around, sees that everything is going well for the moment, then ducks under the table with her. Well, clearly HE can't resist it anyway.]

Or trying to find the Colonel. But today she chose to come out and enjoy the day while she still could, with classes starting soon and all. She's walking up a marked trail when she crosses the feast. Riza's stomach growled, as it had been quite a few hours since she last ate something. Walking up to one of the tables, she flags a man in a red hat down. She recognized him as the Home Economics Instructor.]
Excuse me, sir. Do you have something that would be a little easy on the throat? Perhaps a soup or something?
no subject
[He points at a table straining with the weight of several large serving pots.]
There is also pudding and gelatin, noodles of all varieties, and a few other choices that will slip down your throat smoothly!
no subject
"Thank you."
[Walking over to that particular table that the chef had pointed to, she looked over the selection of soups that were offered. Choosing the simplest thing to go with, she picked up the ladle and carefully scooped some chicken noodle soup into a nearby bowl.
Several minutes later, he'll find that she has returned very satisfied with her choice.]
Excuse me, but I was wondering if I could have the recipe for this soup?
no subject
[He's teasing, really, in such a good mood that he can't help himself.]
no subject
I'll take it into consideration, sir. Thank you.

Tom immediately digs in, though he's at least polite enough to stop by and see Champloo before he eats.] Thanks for the spread. I think you really outdid yourself this time!

[Color Tom bemused.] Now I wonder what effort would actually look like.
