[Balamb Garden has taken off around the Balamb coastline! The seaside and clear night sky can be seen through the windows and from the balconies. The halls are mostly deserted besides the stray student walking about, and even the usual faculty members are missing from their posts around the school. There's a certain festive energy through the air, the source coming from the happily decorated ballroom located on the second floor.

[At exactly 2100, as soon as the dinner rush ends, the Garden chime sounds and the intercom clicks on. The Headmaster speaks to the Garden.]

The Homecoming Dance is now beginning. Your attendance is requested at [2F] Ballroom.

The ball and its festivities tonight are being sponsored very generously by the Garden Festival Committee.

[After the announcement, the intercom falls silent. The faint sound of music can be heard from the second floor of the building.

[Within the ballroom, there is a stationary stand for punch and food, as well as roaming caterers offering drinks (grape juice) and canapes.]

Voting is now closed. There is a thread here for announcing and crowning the winners; on-lookers are free to react in the thread.

Attendance is entirely optional, so with most of the faculty at the dance, characters are free to roam the rest of the school! However, as Balamb Garden is flying around the Balamb coastline, they will not be able to leave (unless you can fly or really like heights and don't mind injuries...), and any characters left behind will be stranded for a few hours.

[She starts a little when she feels his arms wrap around her but quickly realizes it's him, giving a smile as she leans her head back slightly.]

I guess. I just hope it isn't getting it everyone's way too much. But you look great, Eugene.

You look great, too, Blondie. [ He notices someone about to step on Rapunzel's hair and discreetly nudges the hair out of the way with the side of his leather shoes. ] You left Pascal back in the room, right? To keep Flynnigan company?

I guess I'm just most used to seeing you wear your clothes from home. I did leave him in our room, he didn't seem too pleased about it but I wasn't sure if pets would be allowed at a big gathering like this, so.....

[She either doesn't notice or seem to mind when he shifts her hair slightly, not commenting, but seeming more perhaps a little disappointed that Pascal isn't here to share this with her. Even so, she does her best to try make the most of it regardless.]

It looks great, doesn't it? All the dancing kind of reminds me of Corona.

He'll get over it. At least if Flynnigan doesn't mistake Pascal for a treat... [ he notices her disappointment. he gives her a reassuring squeeze. ] If anything, Flynn'll probably just curl up on your bed and sleep. He loves his Mommy 'Punzel's bed.

[ Smirking a little, he remembers having to practically wrestle the pup down from Rapunzel's sheets in the morning before. It wasn't that Flynnigan wasn't supposed to be on Rapunzel's bed, but that Eugene had wanted to change the sheets and clean up a little and the pup just didn't want to scoot. ]

But it's no different to when Pascal tries to nap in my boots.

[ contrary to popular belief...there is nothing cute about trying to put on a boot and discover something inside the boot while your foot is already halfway to the soles.

Eugene takes further notice of the party room. All the dancing and merriment is very familiar. ]

This pales in comparison to your Welcome Home celebration back home, but as far as shindigs go...it's okay.

Well, I'd hope by now that he wouldn't. Not that Pascal would be to thrilled if Flynn even tried. But you're right, I have come back from classes to find him on my bed. I'm sure they'll be fine. I can tell Pascal all about it when we get back.

[Pascal never had any shoes of Rapunzel's to curl up in, so she doesn't really think too much of that. It's almost cute in some ways, though of course she gathers it can't exactly be...pleasant for Eugene to find the chameleon in his boots.]

I guess. I wouldn't know how big that celebration turned out, but I like this. It's nice.

Let's not include the kiss, maybe. I've noticed he gets jealous. [ He starts to guide them both towards the dance floor. ] Just doesn't like sharing a beautiful girl with anyone after having her all to himself for over eighteen years.

Oh, I'm sure he's not that bad. I think he's getting better. He doesn't poke his tongue in your ear anymore, I mean. [A small, amused smile as he leads her to the dance floor.]

Right. When you're not looking away. [ He still has to clean chameleon saliva out sometimes when he doesn't wake up on time and Pascal assumes that since Eugene won't wake himself up, then it's Pascal's job. ] Do you know how disturbing it is to have someone's tongue in your ear?

[ ... well his face just heat up and wow his chest is tightening because he's thinking of Rapunzel's tongue and wow.. agh! ] Forget what I just said.

[ He has to tighten his lips a bit to not make a funny face. ]

He still does it? I thought he had stopped. I hadn't seen him do it in a while, at least.

[You two. It's almost as bad as Eugene with Max. Almost. At least Pascal is not big enough to physically push her boyfriend around.]

Uh. [ does she know? did Cissie finally talk to Blondie? ] It's just a...guy thing, Rapunzel. It's fine. [ hopefully his amazing dancing skills distract her from questioning any further. ]

A guy thing? Eugene, you can tell me. [Cissie hadn't seemed too impressed, but Rapunzel had asked her as Eugene had told her too. But she does enjoy this. They hadn't really had the chance to dance together in Corona before, given how everyone had joined in and wanted to dance with each of them.]

No. Really. [ He really doesn't want to have to explain anything around so many people. ] It's kinda private, Blondie. [ so please don't ask about it further. ]

Oh. Okay, if you say so. [And she takes this as meaning she should wait to ask until later, if she remembers when they get back to their room.]

[ He nestles his nose into her blonde head, tilting his head so that his lips are closer to her ear. ] I'll tell you later. I promise.
