[The quad's all set up for the date auction! A handsome-looking blonde guy - one of the native cadets on the GFC - is center stage with the list and a mic, auctionees (and Headmaster Cid, sipping on a drink supervising) ready behind him. (Alas, Pinkie is out campaigning or something, and Mikuru is doing some last minute work elsewhere and doesn't like the stage anyway.)

[He flashes a smile.] Gooooood afternoon, ladies and gentlemen and everyone else! I'm Russell Drake from the Garden Festival Committee, and I'd like to welcome you all to the GFC's second charity date auction! Once again all proceeds will be going towards the Centra orphanage, so please be generous with your bids! Bids start at 1 gil and we do not take rain checks or IOUs!

We have a fantastic bunch of volunteers for your dating pleasure today, so without further ado, let's get started!

Each person has their own thread. Please put your bids in the subject lines so people can see them! Threads collapse after fifty comments, so using the subject lines will make the bids easier to see.

Bids close and winners will be posted on Friday before the carnival post goes up. IC-ly, the winners will be announced Wednesday afternoon.

If you missed signups, PM wrmods and we'll squeeze them in as an IC "saw the auction on the day, hopped onstage and harassed the GFC to auction them off" auction. Just characters who would willingly sign up at this point, please!

[Most people would probably hate the puns, but Reno seems to be amused and appreciate the silly little things. He's just sort of chilling, not really worrying about this posture thing and in a loose-fitting mostly unbuttoned white dress shirt and black slacks.]

Snake

Word has it that our new cadet Snake can be a bit of a charmer - and surely not just with those snakes he's toting around!

[Snake is bright red, making his scales stand out even more. He keeps shifting awkwardly as he just keeps trying to remind himself that it will help children. The brightly colored coral snake on his shoulder keeps waving her tail at the crowd, however.]

Edward Elric

One of our candidates for Homecoming Prince, Edward Elric here is sure to bring passion and energy to any date! And I also hear he's great at arts and crafts. [Actually, he heard about the lanterns.]

Ed's just hanging behind the guy, visibly tensed up with clenched teeth and clenched fists - it's for charity, it's for charity, they said he could just go volunteering and that's exactly what he intends, he can hunt down whoever enlisted him in this later... Oh, and lest the shallower bidders in the audience get any ideas, he's fully clothed.

He just about manages to mentally block out most of that cringeworthy blurb for the safety of everyone around him, but he can't entirely rein in an outburst at the last part.] Who're you calling an artist?

Nepeta Leijon

Don't paws to consider before bidding on this purrty troll! Nepeta Leijon is right on the verge of becoming a SeeD, and you can bet she's going to be clawsome.

It's great to see our new Commander supporting cadet enterprise and the orphans! She's gotta be a softie under that tough exterior.

The Commander has donned a long, flowing robe cinched about her waist with a loose knot, elegant (if not particularly form-revealing; she's not going that wild for a date auction). [Well, at least Nepeta had cleaned him up. Washed his greasy hair and put it into a ponytail. Made him wear an actual shirt. Gave him fresh sunglasses, with strict instructions to not so much as touch them to avoid breaking them. He doesn't look...too bad, so long as you don't look too hard at his busted teeth.]
