Fourth wall mingle post

[For the regular denizens of Balamb Garden, it's an ordinary day...until more off-worlders start showing up, for only a few hours at a time. Unsure what to make of these more temporary visitors, the Garden faculty is holding off on registering them as cadets or offering them jobs.

Mod note, to reiterate:

4th wall characters can only be seen at certain hours of the day. They may appear for two hours a day, or four... or seen only in the early morning... the time doesn't matter to us, but they're not permanently here. They may return to Garden again through the rest of the month, but they're not around 24/7.

Like apped characters, 4th wall characters can't be ridiculously-sized. Transformers, Gundams, and similar concepts/characters will become human-sized (and in the case of mechas, not allowed altogether.)

Players (like you and me) are not allowed to visit Garden. We're breaking the 4th wall, not destroying it altogether!

Apart from this post, 4th wall characters are free to reply to open posts in witchesreign or open logs in concoursec. Apped players have the option of closing their posts to in-game characters only.

All BBS posts are locked to in-game characters only. 4th wall characters do not have access to any sort of logged in posts unless they hijack someone else's log-in---and in those cases, we need to know this beforehand.

For those unfamiliar with the setting, here is more info on Balamb Garden's facilities and layout. Additionally, some of the NPCs around and some player characters may be wearing Balamb Garden's cadet or SeeD uniform.

It's simply to keep my hands busy, lest the intense boredom of this school tempts me to commit heinous acts of stupidity. The purse ought to look just lovely at the top of my knitwear pile in the dorms.

That must be some collection. Maybe you should go into business. Trade them for baked goods.

Sadly I don't have any particular affinity for baked goods that would require a custom knitwear empire to satisfy. I've entertained the idea of simply leaving them at people's doorsteps and running, however. I never was given the opportunity to partake in ding dong ditch at home, after all.

[Laughs.] Well since people were doing that with baked goods, you could always start with knit things.

Or maybe just leave them for any randomly nice civilians. A thank you for not being assholes to otherworlders.

Leaving gifts for those cordial to other people regardless of their universe of origin implies that such actions are the exception rather than the rule, something which I have no interest in encouraging. It's better to simply spread them out evenly and hope for the best.

The petty nearly always outweigh the compassionate, but majority does not make a correct position. Perhaps it's naive, but I like to think that continuing to treat them like the social pariahs they out to be will in some small way help drive home the fact that their behavior is simply unacceptable.

I'm not sure that's a flaw necessarily, just a difference in style.

Combined with my other personality traits and the people I most often come into contact with it's most certainly a flaw.

Quite the contrary. All of my experiences ought to have hardened me to the point of diamond cynicism, but I seem to have settled into a comfortable medium for the time being instead.

How fortunate then. I'm not sure I could stand your sharp wit if it was diamond-pointed as Jozu. He's too hard-headed for me to combat.

And I would simply hate to cause any undue trouble for people. Such a chaotic nature is far from my usual antics, after all. [wryly]

Of course. [Another chuckle.] After all, you're more the type to sit out of the way and knit, eh? Or is there another reason to this?

An alternative motive to a tranquil public display of handicraft skills? You wound me with your suspicion.

[Laughs.] My apologies. I'm sure your knitting comes with the purest of all intentions to clutter you room.

But of course. Considering that I've been without a roommate to drive me insane for quite some time now I need something to make waking up each morning a hazard.

Have you considered an illicit pet?

I'm not quite sure if it would be worth the effort acclimating my current illicit pet to a second companion.

Oh. Does everyone have one except me? Maybe I should steal one of my fiance's cats.

It seems to be all the rage in the underground fashion world, if the literature I've removed from the black market is any indication; you're horrifically behind the times if you're without one. [she rolls her eyes slightly]

Her grace the Duchess Madeline le Mewfus is a lovely calico, which is something new for me. Typically I tend towards the more traditional black cats.

Unfortunately I prefer to be completely out of the times. I'll leave the fashionable things to Grell. I'd adopt another chocobo, but it just seems weird to keep someone you talk to as a pet to me.
