Fourth wall mingle post

[For the regular denizens of Balamb Garden, it's an ordinary day...until more off-worlders start showing up, for only a few hours at a time. Unsure what to make of these more temporary visitors, the Garden faculty is holding off on registering them as cadets or offering them jobs.

[Maybe someone you know might turn up?]

Mod note, to reiterate:
  • 4th wall characters can only be seen at certain hours of the day. They may appear for two hours a day, or four... or seen only in the early morning... the time doesn't matter to us, but they're not permanently here. They may return to Garden again through the rest of the month, but they're not around 24/7.
  • Like apped characters, 4th wall characters can't be ridiculously-sized. Transformers, Gundams, and similar concepts/characters will become human-sized (and in the case of mechas, not allowed altogether.)
  • Players (like you and me) are not allowed to visit Garden. We're breaking the 4th wall, not destroying it altogether!
  • Apart from this post, 4th wall characters are free to reply to open posts in [community profile] witchesreign or open logs in [community profile] concoursec. Apped players have the option of closing their posts to in-game characters only.
  • All BBS posts are locked to in-game characters only. 4th wall characters do not have access to any sort of logged in posts unless they hijack someone else's log-in---and in those cases, we need to know this beforehand.

For those unfamiliar with the setting, here is more info on Balamb Garden's facilities and layout. Additionally, some of the NPCs around and some player characters may be wearing Balamb Garden's cadet or SeeD uniform.

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask on the OOC post or through the mod channels ([personal profile] wrmods or [plurk.com profile] witchesreign).

The BEST GAME IN THE WORLD, that's what!!

[He pulls out a bunch of pins (the badge definition) from his pocket and offers them to her.] I'll teach you how to play, lady!

She smiles pleasantly.] Oh, well, if you insist~.

    COOL!

[Promptly, he plops down on the floor , untying the scarf from around his head and using it to make a rough circle on the floor.]

Do you need to borrow some pins?
    mother_gawful: (drama mama)

    [personal profile] mother_gawful 2012-03-13 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
[She joins him, though a tad more elegantly.] Oh, yes, I rather think I will~.

[He puts two pins inside the circle, sliding one towards her.]

Tin Pin's all about knocking everyone else's pins out of the playing area, and you can move them around like this!

[The pin shunts sideways without Shuto touching it. TWEWY is really vague on how this works but I go with the fanon that it's really low level telekinesis.

[He totally wouldn't notice if she used something like a deliberately weak Aero spell to move it, though.]
    mother_gawful: (oh really)

    [personal profile] mother_gawful 2012-03-13 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
[She's just going to raise an eyebrow. "You put things on the ground and then you move them around by not doing anything at all!" seems... a bit lacking to her, instruction-wise.

He's lucky she knows Aero, or she would have to reprove him~.

Her pin moves a little as well, though neither as smoothly nor a quickly as his.]

So... do we use our little things to chase the other one's little things around the circle?
dundundaaah: (FEAR NOT! I'LL BE RIGHT BEHIND YOU!)

    [personal profile] dundundaaah 2012-03-13 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
EXACTLY! If you can get close enough, you can hit the other person's pin out of the circle!

[He demonstrates this by making his own pin tap into the one she's using.]

It doesn't have to be a circle, though; it could be off a table or something.
    mother_gawful: (oh really)

    [personal profile] mother_gawful 2012-03-13 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
    Hm.

[She concentrates, and her pin slowly moves over to tap his. She's having a hard time figuring out how much to pull her spell. This is kind of INCREDIBLY BORING. This is worse than when Rapunzel still needed someone else to entertain her.]

What exactly is the point of this game, darling~? Do the players wager something?
dundundaaah: (JOIN ME IN TAKING BACK OUR SOULS!)

    [personal profile] dundundaaah 2012-03-13 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
[Hey, there's more to it! He just hasn't gotten to whammies yet.]

Well, there's a huge tournament where the winner gets the title 'the Sultan of Slam' [he puffs out his tiny chest at that - yeah, guess who won three times in a row] and the best pin!
    mother_gawful: (drama mama)

    [personal profile] mother_gawful 2012-03-13 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
Oh. So. This is actually popular.

[Not exactly what she'd expected to hear! Then she uses too much force and her own pin shoots out of the circle, a slight breeze following it inexplicably.]

Oh dear. [She pouts.] I don't think I'm very good at this game~.
dundundaaah: (FEAR NOT! I'LL BE RIGHT BEHIND YOU!)

    [personal profile] dundundaaah 2012-03-13 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
Everyone loves Tin Pin! [Seriously. He's from the canon AU where everyone cares about Tin Pin instead of fashion.

[The wee breeze makes him blink, but he just shrugs it off.]
Don't get down about it, lady; it just takes practice! Or did you want to see the pins' other moves?
    mother_gawful: (mother knows best!)

    [personal profile] mother_gawful 2012-03-13 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
There are... more moves. Hm. [She's just going to assume it has something to do with making the pins fly about, or she's pretty sure she won't be able to imitate with Aero easily.]

Ah, I was thinking you might want to find someone younger to play against~. Children always do pick up on these sorts of things more quickly~...
dundundaaah: (FEAR NOT! I'LL BE RIGHT BEHIND YOU!)

    [personal profile] dundundaaah 2012-03-13 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
Tin Pin's great for all ages! I taught my grandpa how to play. [This isn't a dig at her apparent age or anything; he adores his grandpa.]

But finding more people to play with is a great idea!
