Graduation Ball

[Night has fallen on Balamb Garden; the halls of Garden are mostly deserted besides the stray student walking about, and even the usual faculty members are missing from their posts around the school. There's a certain festive energy through the air, the source coming from the Ballroom cheerily decorated located on the second floor.

At exactly 2100, as soon as the dinner rush ends, the Garden chime sounds and the intercom clicks on. The Headmaster speaks to the Garden.
]

The Graduation Ball is now beginning. Your attendance is requested at [2F] Ballroom.

I repeat, the Graduation Ball is now beginning. Your attendance is requested at [2F] Ballroom. The dance will run until 2400. Students leaving the ball after curfew are to return to their dorms immediately.

[After the announcement, the intercom falls silent. The faint sound of music can be heard from the second floor of the building.]

( Mod note: You may participate in the dance in comments to this post, or opt to make your own new post/log.

The dance isn't mandatory, so students that choose not to attend won't be punished. The Headmaster, Garden faculty and even some of the instructors are all present at the dance, so troublemakers are free to roam until 2400. The dance itself will last from 2100-2400 in the second floor ballroom and the music will be the same kind of upbeat peppy orchestrated pieces that the game used. Caterers will roam offering drinks and refreshments to attendants, as well a stationary stand for punch and food is offered.

Newly graduated SeeDs are required to wear their uniforms. Otherwise, the occasion is black tie. All inhabitants of Garden are welcome to the festivities.

Should players have any questions left unanswered feel free to ping the mods on AIM or via PM. )

[Not in the correct mental state? That didn't sound particularly good.]

Is there something bothering you?

[she rolls her eyes. more like several somethings, but fuck if she'll ever talk about it] Of course not. I simply don't feel like attending a draining event.

[She gives Rose a skeptical look, but doesn't press it. For now, at least. B||]

Well if you're not too busy you're more than welcome to join us! We were just looking at the garden one of the purrfesors is growing. It looks like he's got some nice tea leaves sprouting up there. [She had been considering pilfering some but....that's probably against the rules. Isn't it.]

I wouldn't be averse to keeping your company for a bit, thank you. [she leans over a little to look at the plants]

Fresh tea is certainly something I've missed in the past. I wonder if this will be made available to the general populace when the time is right.

I hope so! It's always hard to find a good shop in the city. [Mostly in part because she always felt a bit awkward with all the stares she got for being a troll.]

These places we go to are always so big, and so easy to get lost in. But some of them are kinda purrty. Like the last one we were in.

There's something to be said for the quaint atmosphere of a seaside town, particularly its ability to give varied avenues for solitary exploration and the reflecting on one's thoughts.

I can't exactly hold the same fond regard for their selections of tea leaves, however. The adage about doing something right yourself holds true even in new universes.

Exactly! [In fact Nepeta had done just that, a night not so long ago. Back when she was still under...whatever it was that had given people various powers]

Did you see the long train tracks that went over the ocean? They said that it stretches all the way to another continent. I don't like water much but I almost wanted to see how far I could get on it. It looks so peaceful and purrty. [The wanderlust that so often sent her off looking for the Fountain of Cute back home had in no way diminished. While she was slowly becoming more accustomed to this place, she very often had spurts of restless.]

It would be a lovely walk, albeit whilst dodging locomotives along a structure that sounds wholly impractical. I imagine that it would be a wonderful target should someone wish to cause serious trouble in this world. [practical as always, Rose. just appreciate the goddamned architecture]
