What makes someone a good leader? Is it caring about the people they're in charge of? Or is it more making sure they can all get out of an impossible situation alive? During those times do numbers count, or is any single loss an unacceptable failure?

And when it comes down to it, how do you know if you're a good leader until something directly happens?

I've always considered my Pops the best leader there ever was, but he was the strongest man in the world on top of caring about all of us. So I guess he had both qualifications covered.

Just curious as to thoughts on it, if you will.

Now that it comes down to it in person it seems rather silly, actually. In any case, I've been a bit worried about you.

[His brows lift.]

Worried... Why is that?

[Sighs because he doesn't even know where to begin on this.]

I've met a lot of guys over the years who carry the world on their shoulders, eh. [Takes a seat, whether he's supposed to or not.] And the ones that believe that they're supposed to hold all the problems onto themselves without help, have a tendency to implode in rather dangerous ways. [Piercing icy blue glance.]

I think you might be mistaken.

Just try talking to someone about problems sometimes. I get why you wouldn't want to upset others or make them deal with the problems, that's why I tend to hang out with people who won't let it get them down. It's just not a strength to try to do everything yourself Commander. It's a very large weakness.

[Squall says nothing at first, just watching the other male.]

No see, when people say that they rarely are. Especially saying you will be, not you are. Look... [Visibly hesitates.] I'm the first division commander in a very large crew. I get why you don't want to worry the headmaster, the students, the teachers or anyone. But there really are some people who feel better knowing shit. And you won't do that well holding it all in. Try with Rinoa, or an otherworlder who won't care about this world's politics. Even if it's a sounding board mechanism, you're still human. Like it or not, it's a necessary human thing. [Sighs because gosh, how many times were people kicking that into his own head?] Just think on it, eh? It's been a... concern.

Not exactly. I just suspect the others wouldn't get why.

I guess it's all a little much over a dream. But dreams are supposed to give you insight to deeper fears or hidden truths.

What do dreams have to do with this?

Okay, forget most of the rest. Consider it basic training on how to deal with people you have to work with and command.

With all due respect sir, saying that means you don't. Consider talking to people more. If you can't trust them to be strong enough to handle it help you out, find someone who is, eh.
