What makes someone a good leader? Is it caring about the people they're in charge of? Or is it more making sure they can all get out of an impossible situation alive? During those times do numbers count, or is any single loss an unacceptable failure?

And when it comes down to it, how do you know if you're a good leader until something directly happens?

I've always considered my Pops the best leader there ever was, but he was the strongest man in the world on top of caring about all of us. So I guess he had both qualifications covered.

Just curious as to thoughts on it, if you will.

I guess someone that you know won't abused the system for their own gains would be a good trait to have. But you would probably also want someone who people feel they can talk to, or at least respect.

So being approachable? Or should a leader try to make himself more aloof as to be respected rather than "common"?

I think that's a personal thing. Would you like a leader more if you knew you could talk to them or would you rather have someone distant, but respected?

My Pops was my father. I loved him more than anyone else. So I think that probably puts me firmly in the former category.

Not exactly. I suppose it's been weighing on my mind of late.

Actually no.

Nothing to do with Ace except very indirectly. We were both commanders of divisions in my world. So I always thought I was a pretty decent leader, eh. But I've got some very big shoes to fill. I guess it was bothering me more than I realized.

I can't be my Pops and I wouldn't try. So I guess even just following his footsteps is a tall order.

It doesn't matter. It's something I have to do either way. Whether I'm capable and think I am or not.

There aren't any other options. I refuse to accept failure as it would involve the loss of everything and everyone I live for.

Even if you see it as there being no other option, not everyone else might see it that way. So again, it's something to be admired in a person.

My family is my whole world. Without them I wouldn't have much reason for existing. So to not protect them, would be unthinkable.
