Docked in Dollet - OPEN to everyone in Garden

[At 0900 hours, the announcement bell chimes and once again a voice much more youthful than the Headmaster's begins to speak.]

Good morning, inhabitants of Balamb Garden! This is your pilot Nida speaking. Now that we're docked in Dollet, it's time to get our vacation on! That's right - everyone's free to leave Garden and stretch their legs. Hyne knows I will! [He sounds so eager and can't help but give a little laugh.]

Please remember to stay safe while exploring and don't go getting into too much trouble! Oh! I forgot - curfew. I know I know. Not something you want to hear, s-sorry! Anyways. About that curfew. Good news! All cadets are given an extra half-hour in which they must return to Garden for the remainder of the night. Instead of having to check in at 2300 hours, curfew for this week is 2330 hours.

Don't worry though. We'll be here all week! Plenty of time to sight see and whatever else you want to get done.

[Mod note: Here's the kick off to the week of vacation for the cadets! For those who are unfamiliar with Dollet, information about the city can be found here. Students are free to roam around the city or keep within Garden if they so desire. The second term will start August 1st-- until then, it's vacation time!

[He pushes his glass to the center and glances between the two females, leaning back into his chair.] ... Tequila? Really, Xu?

[Now he makes a face, dragging his hand down his mouth and chin.]

[Xu looks rather smug, but she's not going to gloat.]

What? I thought it was a good first drink.

[Still displeased. But he dug his own grave, agreeing to enter with them.]

[Quistis leans back in her chair, her posture relaxing.]

It's a little early in the evening to be drinking such hard liquor, don't you think?

[Xu checks the time... it's early evening, so she shrugs.] So it's a little early... you're taking the fun out of this, mom.

[It was a light jab, but said in fun. Quistis always tried to be the responsible one.]

[And Squall, you know, kind of secretly admired Quistis for being the responsible one. ONE OF THEM HAD TO BE IN THIS SITUATION. Clearly it wasn't going to be Xu since that girl had a habit of drinking the hard stuff from time to time. In her spare, own free time of course and socially. All in good fun, that sort of stuff.

He sent Xu a hard look and pushed himself up from his chair, intent on leaving the girls to their 'fun'.]

[Quistis is hardly surprised when Squall makes a move to stand. She crosses her arms, though her body leans forward over the table, the same sort of teasing posture she adopted every now and then.]

Didn't think you were such a lightweight, Squall.

[Xu wasn't shocked either. And for the record, she was responsible all the time too. When she was able to relax, that's what she did - relax. She didn't think about work or anything like that.]

Too bad. I didn't think Tequila would knock you down right away...

[He sets his jaw against the barbs and says nothing, ignoring them. He goes to the counter and orders two rounds, pinching the bridge of his nose in the process. Really, sometimes he wonders why he's even friends with these two.

The bartender fills up the shot glasses with clear liquor and Squall puts it on a tab, nodding. He takes up the small glasses, three in each hand and sighs irritably to himself. This isn't going to be good. But after this - he's done. For good.]

[Squall sets the shots down and pushes three to Quistis and the other three to Xu.]

[There's a look of mild shock as she watches Squall make his way over to the bartender to order another round of drinks. When he returns with the shot glasses in hand and divides them between the two girls, there's a moments pause before she pushes one of her glasses over to the Commander.]

I'm sure you don't want to miss out on the fun.

[She totally agreed with her friend. Sliding one of her shots over as well.]

At least finish this round with us. C'mon.

[Squall sits back down in the seat and pushes the shot glasses back towards the girls.]

Just drink.

[Quistis picks up a shot glass, examining it for a moment. She can hardly believe that the Commander of all people just bought them drinks.]

This isn't just water, is it?

[She was a bit weary of it too, only because this is Squall.

But she's not going to turn down a drink, and even if it's just water. She takes one of them, and downs the shot. Ooo, good burn.]

[Gives a pointed look in Xu's direction.] So? Is it water?

[She watches Xu's reaction, and it's clear that the liquid isn't water at all. She eyes her shot glass again, before tilting her head back and taking the shot. Oh, that definitely burned.]

Definitely not water.

[Whatever possessed Squall to buy them drinks, it was cool.]

[Folds his arms over his chest and shakes his head.]

[She perks a brow at that.]

Commander, are you trying to get us drunk?

[She sighs, leaning back in her chair. Might as well, hm? Second shot downed.]

[Squall let's his attention wander around the pub while the two down their shots, not all that interested in watching them.]

Just returning the favor for the previous drink.

[Shrugs a shoulder.]

[She warily eyes Xu.]

When I suggested we go for a drink, I was thinking more on the terms of a glass of wine...

[She gives a small sigh and finally throws the drink back, another small wince following as the burn sears into her throat.]

And I was thinking we'd have a third drinking partner.

[Squall was not going to get out of this with only one drink. Nuh-uh. She was determined to see her Commanding Officer drag himself back to his room.

Third drink. She tosses it back, the burn of the hard liquor being felt as it slid down her throat.]
