A storm is coming... (OPEN THROUGHOUT WEEK)

A couple of days after Garden Master Laguna's first order, preparations for war are well underway wherever one looks, and many a non-combat or medical instructor is excusing cadets who claim they are helping with the war effort.

All throughout the building, building checks and last minute repairs are still underway, and the Garden Master himself is out and about and ready for a chat.

In the training center, some people have taken to offering free spar sessions. Sometimes instructors and SeeDs can be found offering fighting tips to the less experienced.

For those who would rather train against monsters, the Fire Cavern is open and supervised. It's a good place to draw Fire and Thunder spells, too.

The infirmary is offering first aid refresher crash courses and small medpacks to bring into battle. They also need help making said packs and sorting their hastily purchased supplies.

Speaking of supplies, the 2F supply rooms, normally only entered for missions and relevant classes, are doing an inventory of the weapon and spell stocks still available after the Battle of the Three Gardens. Magic stocks are being topped up by refining spells from other items.

Considering someone used a carrier vehicle in said Battle, people are also checking all of Garden's vehicles in the garages (as well as the small fleet of boats kept at Balamb Harbor). Mechanics would be much appreciated.

Though several of the lesser trained cadets have been pulled out of school by their parents following the declaration of war, those left are being subjected to evacuation and lockdown drills in the dorms.

EVERYWHERE

Climb on a ladder and patch up that hole in the ceiling, step into a corridor at precisely the wrong moment and find yourself saddled with somebody else's supply errands, wave your wrenches in the air like you just don't care. Then grab a building safety checklist and knock on some walls.

Alternately, if you want to talk to Laguna about anything, he A) has not claimed an office and B) is too antsy to sit in one even if he had one, so he's roaming Garden, keeping an eye on preparations and offering an encouraging word or two.

[Champloo is helping in his own particular way -- with food. He roams the corridor of Garden, aggressively thrusting snacks that are more like entire entrees into the hands of those who look like they need him. Though swift and sudden as a ninja's blade, those who seek him or seek to avoid him might know that he can be found by the faint scent of pepper and seared beef that precedes him!]

[Not too far away, Pinkie walks towards that aroma. What's so different about her seeking him out?

She's walking on her hands. Her feet are not in sneakers or socks, but that doesn't matter much.]

Chammy! Wait up--ACHOO!

[She loses her balance and sidesteps to the side, using the wall to balance herself with a foot on it.] PHEW! That was close!

Are you walking on your hands for a reason, Pinkie? Or are you simply trying to demonstrate to me that your lower body is as lovely as your upper one?

[No, he doesn't think her actions are strange. She's Pinkie.]

Yeah! I need to keep in shape for the war, but working out in a gym is BORING CITY! [She walks over to him, on her hands.]

[Pinkie does a front walkover and stands properly, latching herself onto his arm.]

Do you have any cabbage rolls with that yummy fruity sauce?!

[No need to look -- Champloo plunges a hand into his massive bag of goods, and produces from it a small box, which he offers to her with a flourish.]

[Pinkie is following Laguna from a distance, wanting to know just where he goes. Plus, it's just fun and a way to practice her sneaking skills. She at least makes sure to wear a hat to cover her bright pink hair. Idly, she reads a bulletin board with a few messages tacked on, keeping suspicion off herself.]

[Every once in a while, the Garden Master turns around as if certain that THIS time, he'll catch the mysterious presence that lurks after him--]

Ah HA!

[Uh. No, just a random girl, clearly causing no trouble. Laguna scratches his head awkwardly, then sets off down the hallway again.]

[That poor girl. Well, not really, if she was causing trouble. Pinkie snickers and walks about ten feet behind him, stopping every once in a while to randomly chat to people and hand them a few lollipops. She takes one for herself and continues.]

[After a little ways, Laguna wanders down the hall into a classroom that's SUPPOSED to be empty...]

[She peeks around the corner, seeing him go into a classroom. Is he teaching, or something? With her lollipop in tow, Pinkie makes to walk past the classroom, making sure to peek through the window to see what's going on inside. Perfectly normal for an instructor to roam about, checking on students, right?]

[Actually... there's no sign of Laguna in there through the window. It's as if he stepped through and disappeared!]

[Or he's hiding behind the door.]

[...weird! Well, Pinkie will continue walking towards the bathroom. It was the boys boathroom, but a bathroom nonetheless. If anyone passes by, then...well she'll just pop out, really.]

TRAINING CENTER

Still free of all but the odd, already half-beaten monster, the training center has been adopted as a free spar area. Improve your skills against your friends and strangers, try out some new spells, junctions, and techniques, and help out those who aren't as good as you.

[In the largest of the open spaces, Maria is organizing eager cadets and SeeDs with less forceful personalities than hers into pairs or quartets, according to what she thinks will be the best training. With her gunblades and her rifle slung over her shoulders as always, she's more than prepared to mix in herself if she wants... especially because she's scrounged up as many paramagic specialists as she can to casts Cures and Lifes on those combatants in need.]

FIRE CAVERN

A quick walk from the Gardens is the former home of the Guardian Force Ifrit, now home to Bombs, Buels, Red Bats, and Zubat. Unlike the training center, the Fire Cavern is now under SeeD supervision to help people who are overwhelmed get safely back to Garden. Come: Fight, draw spells, and/or supervise those who are. Remember to collect any items the monsters may drop upon defeat! (Zubat drop Berries, which can be refined into Cure.)

INFIRMARY

For the most part, the infirmary is neatly divided into two sections.

On one side, supplies like bandages, disinfectant, and Potions are in organized chaos (almost sorted giant piles) and there are small bags and lists on the floor, ready to be filled with the medical supplies listed and then handed out to anyone who wants one.

On the other, SeeDs are teaching some first aid basics for the battlefield. Need a refresher? Haven't taken REC 101 yet? Here's your chance to learn something.

Zabala's still recuperating in a curtained off bed, but no one will fault anyone who wants to look in on the fallen Commander. Don't expect much of a reply, though.

[Gakupo had been doing a lot of thinking lately ever since he had been helping out here in the infirmary. He enjoyed helping heal others and doing other tasks in the infirmary more than fighting, so he has come to the decision to focus on his recovery magic skills, and maybe he'll take courses to specialize in battlefield medicine.

For now, he's amongst the crowd, refreshing his memory and learning a few new things. Once he's done taking notes there, he'll assist with filling bags with medical supplies and lining them up in neat rows to be distributed.]

SUPPLY ROOMS

One nunchuck, two nunchuck, three nunchuck, four... This sword could use some sharpening, or perhaps a little more...

Or maybe you're here to help refine some spells or ammo. Sit down, grab a junction device and some Magic Stones (or other items), and have at it.

[A frowning Greed rummages through the supply closets, discarding weapons as he goes, and searching more deeply for more obscure items. Next to him, several healing items or items that will refine into healing magic lie in haphazard piles, and he tosses another Potion onto the stock after a moment. Apparently, they interest him most.]

GARAGES / BALAMB HARBOR

Though the Personnel Carrier Vehicle used in the Battle of the Three Gardens is bashed up in some junk yard now (whoever drove it must have been an idiot), Balamb Garden still has more at its disposal, as well as Armored Personnel Carriers, Galbadia's rocket motorcycles, and, down at the harbor, a fleet of hydrofoils. Give an engine a tuneup if you feel so inclined. Ragnarok and the Chaotix could use checkups too.

[Grell was standing in front of the Blue Minuet, holding what looks to be a dagger. Ah, that car runs so smoothly, and has a lovely interior. She walks towards it, running her fingers over the smooth surface, wondering how long it will take Thatch to know that it's in immediate danger of being scratched.

Time to find out.]

DORMS

With more time to plan, SeeDs have designated some specific (uninhabited) dorms on the second floor for younger cadets to retreat to and older SeeDs to protect in case of a lockdown. The littlies need to know to go there immediately and without taking anything else with them in case of an onboard battle.

The evacuation plan involves them retreating to Balamb Town, but given the uncertainty that the battle will be fought on Balamb soil, it might be best to focus on the lockdown drills.
