[For the regular denizens of Balamb Garden, it's an ordinary day...until more off-worlders start showing up, for only a few hours at a time. Unsure what to make of these more temporary visitors, the Garden faculty is holding off on registering them as cadets or offering them jobs.

[Maybe someone you know might turn up?]

Mod note, to reiterate:

Fourth wall characters can only be seen at certain hours of the day. They may appear for two hours a day, or four... or seen only in the early morning... the time doesn't matter to us, but they're not permanently here. They may return to Garden multiple times over this fortnight, but they're not around 24/7.

Like apped characters, fourth wall characters can't be ridiculously-sized. Transformers, Gundams, and similar concepts/characters will become human-sized (and in the case of mechas, not allowed altogether.)

Players (like you and me) are not allowed to visit Garden. We're breaking the fourth wall, not destroying it altogether!

Apart from this post, fourth wall characters are free to reply to open posts in witchesreign tagged with *post type: event or open logs in concoursec. WR players have the option of closing their posts to in-game characters only.

All BBS posts are locked to in-game characters only. 4th wall characters do not have access to any sort of logged in posts unless they hijack someone else's log-in---and in those cases, we need to know this beforehand.

And a new note: Fourth wall characters applied to the game have the option of keeping the memories of their fourth wall visit(s) here. Threads from the fourth wall event may also be used as samples.

For those unfamiliar with the setting, here is more info on Balamb Garden's facilities and layout. Additionally, some of the NPCs around and some player characters may be wearing Balamb Garden's cadet or SeeD uniform.

[Oh look, another colorful pony! This one seems very attached to her hat. She weaves in between all these strange two-legged creatures, maneuvering her head very carefully. She is not losing her hat, thank you!]

Hey! Would you terribly mind watching your claws, some of us can't see that high up.

[What a weird place. Sterile hallways, nothing fancy, all cold. She doesn't like it one bit, but that might be the creepiness and loneliness talking.]

[This is the only warning AJ gets before a blue blur with a rainbow wake hurls herself at the earth pony in a tackling hug.]

[Those who knew Princess Luna might immediately recognize something of that pony in this one. Celestia is larger, but her multicolored mane and tail have the same disconcerting habit of flowing gently in a nonexistent breeze. She observes everything around her with detached curiosity; if her sudden change of circumstances bothers her, she isn't letting it show.]

[Don't mind the weird-looking purple guy. He's got a confused look on his face, clutching his hat in clawed fingers.]

[Perhaps a bit disconcertingly, he sniffs the air, and screws his face into a petulant look.]

[A rusty waow came from the vicinity of his feet and an old, peg-legged cat started twining about his legs.]

[Woah. This isn't the North Pole, or anywhere else Jack actually knows so he's just going to wander around and try to figure out where he even is.

There's something a bit odd about the kid though, for one he's not wearing shoes despite the chill that surrounds him and when the staff in his hand bumps against something (or someone) a bloom of silvery-white frost appears.

There's also the matter of a decidedly cold breeze whipping through the halls on occasion when he wants to do more than amble along.]

[ Hey, bare-foot bro. This midget here is equally confused, and doesn't know where to go until a cold breeze whips by and catches his attention. It's harder to fly on it than the winds at home (because he's certain, at this point, that this isn't even Earth), but he manages well enough.

So enjoy being stalked followed by this lovely AUkito, Jack. Since he really doesn't know what else to do but follow the breeze. ]

Where?

[Cloud is in the Quad, hand on the hilt of the (ridiculously) large sword at his back as he turns. This isn't Gaia, and the sudden change from where he had been has him suddenly severely on edge. He looks about ready to either snap the first person he sees in half or hold them at swordpoint for answers.

Everything is on high alert, eyes blazing as tension drags across his nerves.]

Where...what?

[One of the nearby people was a woman with rather long, blue hair and a silly, peach-adorned hat, who glanced at Cloud lazily after his one-word question.

At this point, she noticed his stance, apparent anger, and the sword, and her entire demeanor changed from slight boredom to actual interest.]

You look like someone that's looking for trouble.

[The cat let out an irritated mrew.]

Ack, woman, ye've let the fire die. [He stretched and opened his eye... and then blinked. The cat circled around, his peg-leg making a light clunking sound.

Well, wasn't this a change, harr? He walked down the hallway, mewing ever so often in his low voice. This wasn't the Unicorn's magic, nor that human boy's - although that boy was more than he seemed, aye.]

...excuse me? Do you need another fire?

[A puzzled Aerith has her hand half-lifted in a spell-casting pose.]

[He stood in the center of the Garden Quad, his arms folded across his chest and his lips pressed together. His mako-green eyes were narrowed in thought and he seemed to be waiting for something or someone to show up and explain to him what had just happened. He did not like the tests he had to go through on a regular basis, but this was certainly a new angle to the usual urban battle scenario. Did Hojo finish the program settings or were all these people suppose to be part of the mission.

Sephiroth huffed to himself, shifting his weight and looking up at the sky. The structure around him was strange, but he supposed that it was a new design from the Urban Development Department. It was certainly a lot more pleasing to the eyes than Sister Ray or Midgar. He glanced at a couple young women reading books and the students passing by giving him - and probably the long curved sword at his side - odd looks.]

Do not tell me; this is a socializing program and not a battle one?

[Aerith froze where she stood, feeling almost as if her blood was running cold. Her vision from before flashed across her eyes---his grin, his blade, her lifeless body, her friends' rage. She wanted to scream. One of the world's worst murderers, in Garden? Ready to strike? They were all in terrible danger.

But she was a SeeD now. SeeDs did not scream in the face of danger. Instead, she folded her hands in a casting pose and cast her protections. She'd just have to strike in a moment. Anyone else see the problem here? Sorry, Sephiroth.]

[See that large open space over there in the lobby? Now you don't see him...

Now you do. Suddenly a blue hedgehog is standing where you could've sworn he wasn't before.]

Whoa! Never seen this place before.

[He disappeared! No, he actually just sped off, and if you look close enough you can notice a blue blur whizzing around the Garden's entrance. Suddenly, he zips onto a spot where he can peer outside. He then lets out a whistle.]

Beautiful view, but how did I get here and how do I get out?

[Stupid hedgehog and his stupid blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearances. After that first appearance in the lobby, Espio - not quite the detective his other-world self is - spends more time than he would have liked trying to track him down again, somehow catching him just in time to overhear that comment.]

Time compression. And I don't know, use a door?

[Okay, so all of this was. A lot to take in, really. This place was so strange and different from anywhere Winry had been in her travels back home. She wanders the halls and ends up back out into the Quad, looking around at the open space. This was all a lot to take in, and she was so curious about some of the technology she had seen, wanting to take it apart but knowing that probably was not the best idea. Even if it really was so, so tempting as she looks over at some of the students and staff walking around between classes. She's not quite sure what to do, everyone else seems to have places to go and all. But she wants answers, wants to find out how to get back home to Amestris, so she will stop some of them passing by to try and find out what the story is.]

[Ed turns to shoot a tired look at whoever just tried to wave him over - he has places to get to, dammit -

Winry? [Suddenly there are a thousand different questions vying for control of his vocal cords - and all of them inane enough that he'd be thoroughly embarrassed if there weren't at the same time a thousand different emotions fighting over his head.] When...?

[At some point, Ed figures out that whatever the hell is going on, it's not the usual influx of offworlders. It's something different.

In fact, it resembles that other anomalously busy period not long after he first got here the relatively normal way - right down to the people appearing and disappearing. And if that's the case, there's a possibility, however minute, of that guy rearing his head again...

While he's keeping an eye out for that, though, he doesn't have the time to pay much attention to any of these new arrivals, not if they won't be around long enough to show the appropriate gratitude. So don't mind the shorter-than-average blond guy in a red coat if he glares at you for getting in his way or just plain pushes past; it's your own damn fault for being there.]

[ You won't be pushing past this one so easily, Fullmetal, not without providing some answers.]

[Seeing yellow would usually be weird, but not when there's a fox with two tailed attached to that color. (Wait, TWO tails?) He's fairly noticeable as he's checking out all the rooms in the Garden that he has access to, as if studying them.]

Huh, interesting... [The tails swish slightly.] This structure's really interesting! [He seems to be talking to himself, too.] I've never seen anything like it... [And he's mesmerized by everything.]

[Another visitor and former resident is here! He pops around one of the doors and grins.]

[Cissnei didn't know how she wandered into this place, but then, wandering into places is pretty much all that constitues her life these days, so it's no big deal to her. Still, she's curious in this place in a way she isn't normally. She wonders what it's here for and who's in charge of it all.]

[Tenshi, an innocent, totally angelic woman, isn't too remarkable for the standards of his world - blue hair is probably not uncommon there, and the same went for dumb hats.

She looks entirely innocent and helpful. Too bad she isn't.]

[Eh, crowds of people. Eh... new place... EH, whatever. Ace doesn't care. He's amused by the all the ponies, to be sure, but he almost instantly beelines for food. Food food food food.]

[Yeah... someone feel free to notice that there's a shirtless guy carrying several trays completely filled as much as possible with food. Because it's at least a little suspicious.]

[He's not carrying it for long though because someone is behind him, stealing food off the plates as soon as he loads them up. I wonder who that could be. Shh don't tell]

[Louise just very thoughtlessly but very awkwardly strolls into the place, taking pause when her surroundings start to register.]

Huh? Is this the place Nena was telling me about? It looks like a huge fancy college. It's not a garden at all! Okay, what's the deal? Have I been had? Damnit, Nena!

[Nena just happens to be in earshot and hears this seemingly random blonde bimbo curse her name.]

[Well, that was a trip. With a few more battles back home under his belt, a disoriented Billy finds his way here again. His old room's been filled, of course, and his old courses taken by other instructors, so he's left to walk the hall again.]

...huh. I wonder how long it's been.

[Before long, there's another hall-wanderer matching his stride, quietly making small talk.]

You were here before, then? Time Compression messed with things?

[This was certainly new. At the same time, it's amazing how easily you'll blend in if you don't talk. Now and then, one might find Raven looking around the Garden silently, or sitting in on an itemcrafting class or two.

Making items in cauldrons was more of Marion's thing, but there was definitely enough to learn here that she'd be able to pass on the word.]

[He's been gone for only five months and DiscComm is almost non-defunct? Seriously, Garden: he left behind a crappy legacy if no one's stepped up to the plate.

Cue Damian impatiently tapping his foot and giving pretty much every Cadet the evil eye. He's a little busy with the way he's destroying Garden property (again) but if this doesn't land him a detention, he's not sure what will.]

[Guess who accidentally sat in a Ballroom Dancing class? And guess who just decided she doesn't like it? Nell had wobbled her way out of that class, only to stare at the Quad in front of her.

She's not really sure what kind of world this is, but it's certainly one of the stranger ones she's been to. Nell takes a breath before she wanders over to the flowers, and carefully, when she thinks no one's looking, she touches them and watches them curl in the palms of her hands.]

Aww, it looks like you guys are well taken care of. [Maybe this military school isn't so bad after all.]

[It was a strange occurrence, this place was. Vlad was just was done dealing with the mutant ghost monster and getting the desired key for this one thing he knew he had to do, so when he approached this gate, it was peculiar how he came in. He never seen anything like this place before, although it may have had some of the same surreal feeling as one unaccustomed to the ghost zone would be. But Vlad has seen strange worlds.]

[However, he halts when he hears a familiar voice, and sees the ark haired boy right there. The curious mood began to darken. But despite the initial annoyance, he was mostly more upset and humiliated by the said boy's old man. He strikes up a conversation, even it it seems more sneering than anything else.]

Perhaps you should direct the question to the ones in charge rather than just think aloud about that sort of thing hm?

Now the class is over, but the unicorn hasn't seen fit to disappear along with it - in fact, she's chasing the last few straggling cadets as they attempt to escape out into the corridor, their uniforms considerably less uniform than they were a couple of hours ago. A few rolls of fabric hover after her, supported by nothing but sparkling blue light.]

Oh, do hold on just a second longer, there's a dear! I promise this time I've got just the thing...

(Accompanied by her ensemble of enchanted flying dolls, Kreutzer tries to keep to herself, but it's not quite so simple when you're so interested in the available technology. Garden itself was rather advanced, after all. Still, a flat look falls on her face and she sighs.)

[The first time Kreutzer arrived, Rosa said nothing. It took a bit of preparation before facing her, after all. The second time, though, the silver-haired SeeD casually walks up, glancing over.]

[Her voice is deeper with age, and much colder... and she goes out of her way to avoid referring to Kreutzer by name. She wants to make this as quick and painless as possible.]

(Even if Cadence did try to blend into the environment, it's hard to not notice a pink winged unicorn casually walking through the halls with a smile on her face. Despite the unfamiliar location, she's keeping a positive outlook on things. After all, a new world means new things to learn, right?

...But she'll get to learning those things later; there's several arguments going on at once and she's going to solve them the best way she knows how: magic. Just a few little hearts here and there and bam, everyone's happy and diplomacy wins again. She giggles to herself with a nod and.)
