It's just that Professor Slughorn's throwing a party. He does that sometimes, for people he wants to hang around. I've been invited, and everyone is supposed to bring a guest.

It's not like I have much else to do, and I was thinking of going in to town anyway.

As long as it doesn't have little dancing chocobos and moogles on it I think I'll be fine.
