HOLI BONFIRE (backdated to 4/14)

[The Garden Festival Committee and the Fight Club have graciously sponsored a giant bonfire in the Quad from 2000 to 2400 hours on Saturday night! It takes up most of the room in the center, with piles upon piles of freshly-cut logs and staff members replenishing the fire every so often with para-magic, but there's plenty to do and see in the Quad regardless.

Various members of the GFC have guitars on them, in order to properly sing campfire songs around the bonfire, and there's stations run by both Fight Club and the GFC near the back for s'mores, chocolate, and various other snacks that a bonfire party might need.

And even though your presence isn't mandatory, the smell of freshly roasted s'mores and the heat from the bonfire might be enough to entice just about anyone.]

Exactly. But I don't mind being known as "the one who sucks" if it means she's got more confidence in her own abilities.

Well, it's not like I actually need to be a master guitar player when I'm already a damn good math teacher.

Ah! I don't think we have! I'm Gakupo. You can still treat me to drinks. Not beer, but some other alcohol beverage is just fine.

Works for me. [grins] I'd apologize for not having much taste when it comes to my liquor, but beer usually works just fine.

Beer is quite the common drink back home, as well. I never really liked the taste much. It might be due to drinking sake more often than not.

[Pauses]

...not to say that I drink often!

[werepanther]

[a small snort.] It's fine if you do, man; I'm pretty sure I can drink most people here under the table.

Isn't that unhealthy?

Probably. [shrug] At this point, it doesn't really bother me.

It doesn't?

[he shakes his head] I've been able to drink like that for years now.

Ah, well... [Gakupo isn't entirely sure how to address that.] You won't need to drink me under the table. I don't drink that often, so I'm pretty much a lightweight.

I'll keep that in mind. [Tom's not entirely sure how to make it less awkward, beyond offering smiles and occasionally strumming his guitar.]

... But maybe I'll have to try this 'sake' sometime. It's like Japanese wine, right?

It's far stronger than wine. Sake is quite hard to describe. It's pretty up there with vodka.

Huh. I guess I'll go easy on it whenever I can find it.

[He may have an insanely high alcohol tolerance, but he's not stupid.]
