is it just me or are they keeping our stuff for longer than usual?? i've got my smartphone so i'm okay but i'm still pretty darn sure that a week is way too long to handle a "standard maintenance and repair" operation.
if a CS major knew why it takes so long, an explanation would be schway. :|
also a reminder: if i see you doing weird slag, i'm giving you detention. i don't know why people seem to forget this part, but we are a school for mercenaries-in-training. Seriously stop being zifts and just... i don't know, read comic books or something.
The Sky Pirates of Aselia is currently having a crossover with the Sea Pirates of Aqualin. And it's more than kinda schway. It's worth your time more than any dumb slag with alarm clocks. 8|||

[If anyone wants to find him at the computer terminals, Damian's still there longer than usual; he's also been lurking around the Computer Science classrooms to see if he can gain any more information.
Either way, he's a man on a mission, and that mission isn't exactly for noble intentions.]

[BBS] ...oh lord.
What is the point of crossing over those two? Both comics have practically identical casts, so half the crossover is basically shoving them together and going oh, tee-hee, look at how similar they are! Best friends!
AND they're not even set in the same universe to begin with! And - take it from someone who actually does hop dimensions - the excuse the writer came up with is a complete asspull. They need to sack him and bring back the guy who did SPoA #56. The whole series has gone downhill since he left, and it's not like he's even been gone that long - it's so bad, I only pick it up for the cover art now.
[I have no idea if this is okay. I'm assuming those are made up for FF8-land comics ._.]
[BBS] aw yes ♥
The inner art's still good though! They brought back the girl from the first run, and it makes it look pretty!!
But how's the excuse an "asspull?" I thought it made sense, with the Sea Pirates wanting that jewel that only existed in the Sky Pirate Dimension...
[Completely okay!!]
SOB.
Look, the two angels and the sea people are basically counterparts of each other - they have no real personality to speak of! In each comic, one's loud and quirky, and the other's meek and quiet, and those are their only defining features. They're only there for the sake of proving that one takes place in the sky, and one takes place in the sea!
Okay, I'll give you that the kid looked like he was going to have a personality at first, but it clearly didn't work out.
And yeah, how did they get to the Sky Pirate dimension in the first place, huh? They decided they wanted something, and just got there with some device that had no good reason to exist in their world - their technology is not on that level, they make a point of their smart guy not being that smart, and we had no precedent to show us that dimensional travel was even possible! Even bringing in some magic portal would be more convincing.
It's just typical of that writer - every time he has a problem that needs solving, he takes the easiest solution without even thinking how it works in the setting. I'm sure he's written this story for a different comic entirely, and just shoehorned familiar characters in because he couldn't get it published.
... they are such nerds. ;u;
Haldia ["that kid from the lost sea city"] is a perfectly good character! I liked what he did in the last issue :| The pirates are just too big to keep focusing on everyone all the time.
The crossover isn't done yet! They'll probably explain just what the slag that device was doing there in the first place - even I know it wasn't supposed to be there - but I want to give it the benefit of the doubt.
Do you really think so?? It doesn't seem like it yet.
yes u.u

And it's taking so long because my wife is the one fixing them and I'm determined to keep her distracted. [Lying but whatever, it's believable.]

Ew Boss, I didn't need to know that. 8(

Hey, you're the one who asked matey. :|

If I wanted that, I would've asked Ms. Tattler!

Just send me a PM if you're not comfortable doing it in public.
[SUCCESS! The more fans of these comics the better.]

If you can't give me solid evidence, then he'd just end up with two weeks' worth of detention.

bbs;
On the topic of law-abiding entertainment, however, I'm afraid that I can't quite get behind the endorsement of comic books as a healthy alternative. They're simply not very mentally stimulating; I'd personally recommend an independent fantasy anthology that puts out some very interesting pieces instead.
bbs;
Comic books are perfectly schway! Though if I wanted to look for these fantasy books, they'd be available in the library, right?

I've yet to find one that can hold my interest for more than a few pages. And that's correct. Thankfully they're included in the new materials brought in, otherwise I'd have been forced to write a strongly worded letter of protest to the staff.
bbs;
Got it. I think they'd probably have their own section too, but I haven't checked that part in a while.

Also, which fantasy anthology?

bbs;
It's called the Chimera's Den and is worth a look if you can ignore the admittedly trite titling. I've enjoyed the majority of the stories they put out thus far, at least.
bbs;
Interesting, I'll have to take a look.
