[Raven is not a very talkative person, and she is still rather unfamiliar with computers despite having been in the Garden for months. However, she has had this question nagging in the back of her mind for some time, and she's not sure where else she could ask.

So, here goes!]

I have questions.

There are people here who aren't human, dwarf or elf. Then there are those who look human, but turn into something else. Half-Monsters.

Is this common?

Second question. I haven't seen dwarves and elves here yet. Do they exist?

What you call 'half-monsters' are uncommon around here, but they exist.

From what I understand, they keep mostly to themselves since Cadets tend to mistake them for harmful monsters every now and then. No idea about dwarves and elves, sorry. :(

[Raven fails to realise that "if I do say so myself" means he is one, and just settles on thinking she's weird. Weird and cursed.]

Half-monsters? In Spira, some humans were turned into fayth, but it's very rare.

What are dwarves and elves?

Dwarves and elves are people. Just different types of people.

Why would you call them half-monsters if not all of them are bad?

That's what they are.

[See, when a human parent and a monster parent get together, they make... a person with transformation powers? YEAH.]

Not all full monsters are bad, either.

But isn't a monster someone or something that does bad things?

Unless your definition of a monster is different than mine.

A monster is just a creature. Some are destructive. Others aren't. Where would you get milk, eggs or wool from if not monsters?

Can't we be all monster? Being half human is a drag.

I think I've heard of an elf being here from another world awhile back, no dwarves to my knowledge though. It would seem they're a lot more uncommon than monsters.

Yes. Detailed craftwork is difficult as a monster.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by that.

Monsters is a very derogatory word to describe people who are different from you. Non-humans are not automatically as dangerous as that word implies.

Monsters aren't dangerous.

[Practically all animals are "monsters" in her world.]

I do apologize then, as that word carries less than kind connotations in my world. We have other words to mean beings who are not necessarily human.

Monsters are monsters. Humans are humans, elves are elves, dwarves are dwarves. It's just what things are. The world wouldn't work without them.

I suppose it wasn't true to say monsters aren't dangerous. Some are, especially here. But without monsters, at home, where else would we get eggs, milk and wool from?

I believe you are forgetting common animals. Eggs come from fowl called chickens, I believe. Milk comes from cows. Do you have these creatures on your world?

I have not yet met anyone that appears human but can transform into something else, but I believe appearing human while really being otherwise is not too uncommon here.
