[ Merlin's information on the BBS was helpful enough to get her started on making a post, but for the most part Gwen is still struggling. Sure, the keys and characters are much more legible than script, but finding the right one in the rows took her quite some time. After writing it up she longed for quill and parchment. ]

Hello Garden Dwellers,

I am having an issue with my standard Garden cadet uniform. I am not at all fond of the cut and location of the hem.

[ Translation: her medieval sensibilities make showing her legs not an option! ]

I am, however, quite adept at sewing. If anyone knows where I might obtain fabric, needle, thread and perhaps some beading I would be in your debt. If anyone is interested in a dress or anything else please do not hesitate to let me know.

This make sense, though I do not think I would be comfortable in the female cadet uniform. Not that I pass judgement on the others for wearing it. Quite the contrary; I envy their confidence.

I've never had much of a dress code. I wear what I please to work and at home, thankfully.

She is. I'm sorry for inflicting him on her. XD

I have never worn anything else. What else would you wear?

Dresses made of linen mostly with an apron or smock. Now and then I would make beaded or embroidered corsets for nicer occasions.

Were your uniforms similar to the ones in the Garden?

A little tea and she'll be fine.

Your outfit sounds very impractical. To answer your second question, yes they're quite similar. Different color and a slightly different design, but they function the same.

I think there's little else that's perfect for scrubbing floors. I'd imagine that attire isn't proper for battling in.

No. Long skirts hamper quick and efficient movement. Uniforms also have the advantage of being easy to clean.

What does dancing have to do with things?

There is a course on dancing. I believe it's required for graduation. But perhaps I should adjust to the uniform.

A required course on dancing? Why would that be required? What does dancing have to do with the military?

Perhaps they will let you wear something else for that class.

Where I am from it's quite important for all nobles and leaders to know how to dance. Socializing in court is an aspect of diplomatic relationships. I'm not sure if the same rules apply here.

I never learned to dance, it wasn't applicable for what I was to do.
