[ Merlin's information on the BBS was helpful enough to get her started on making a post, but for the most part Gwen is still struggling. Sure, the keys and characters are much more legible than script, but finding the right one in the rows took her quite some time. After writing it up she longed for quill and parchment. ]

Hello Garden Dwellers,

I am having an issue with my standard Garden cadet uniform. I am not at all fond of the cut and location of the hem.

[ Translation: her medieval sensibilities make showing her legs not an option! ]

I am, however, quite adept at sewing. If anyone knows where I might obtain fabric, needle, thread and perhaps some beading I would be in your debt. If anyone is interested in a dress or anything else please do not hesitate to let me know.

[ Gwen's going to pretend she isn't excited to meet all these crazy new people. ] Hopefully none of them are too off.

I know he does... but he was the one to stress how it cannot be. [ Maybe Merlin didn't need to know that. She's just venting a bit. ] And Lancelot...

clearly he's going to become a relationship counselor in addition to everything else :P

[Merlin bit his lip, remembering Lancelot. He remembered all too well Gwen's face when she realised Lancelot had gone.] But what do you feel?

[ She laughs because Arthur is kind of a prat, though she'd never say it herself again. ]

But what happens when we go back and I still have these memories. Wont it hurt that much more?

[ She watches Merlin a moment as she considers that question. ] I feel like... I care about him more than I should. Which is ridiculous. Isn't it?

Are you so sure that it's as impossible as you think back home?[Merlin grins, and leans forward conspiratorially.] Do you want to know about your future?

It's never ridiculous to care about someone, Gwen.

Yes, especially after what's happened... [ She gives Merlin an extremly curious and highly skeptical look. He should be used to it by now. ] What do you mean my future? Did Arthur tell you something?

Well he did mention something about being married. [Merlin pauses for dramatic effect] To you.

"merlin, have you been down at the tavern again?"

[ Her heart sinks for that second he pauses. Then he's saying something that makes very, very little sense to her. She shakes her head and lets out a nervous chuckle. ]

That cannot be... Uther would never—

[ A pause of realization. ] That's why he hugged me.

No, Uther wouldn't. But by Arthur's time, Uther is dead. Arthur is King.

He's not upset because of anything you've done. He's upset because you're not from the time when you're his Queen.

oh god Gwen if only you knew.

[ Gwen's having a hard time processing this and trying not to enjoy the phrase Uther is dead. Admittedly, now, she feels even worse about the incident with Lancelot. ]

Queen? I'm a maidservant and he makes me his Queen?

[ As happy as she would have been about this news, and that future version of her probably is, this version had spent quite some time talking herself out of thinking being with Arthur was a good idea. ]

You must be mistaken, Merlin. Why would he throw away his relationships with the other kingdoms hoping to unite with Camelot like that? It's...absurd.

[ She doesn't even really believe herself...It's the shock talking. ]

Because he loves you. And I'm not mistaken. Arthur told me himself, and you know Arthur - he'd never lie about something like that.

No, he wouldn't...Perhaps I should reword that letter.

[ She's still skeptical. I mean, how is she suppose to know she's the same as this future Gwen? Can't destiny change? She's opts not to mention that just now though. ]

[Merlin takes out the letter again, and holds if back to Gwen.] Whenever you're ready, I can take it to Arthur for you.

[Merlin might not have lived through Arthur's future yet, but as far as he's concerned Gwen will always be Gwen. Although the question of whether destiny can change is much more complicated and tends to involve a lot of confusing dragon riddles...]

[ She stares down at the letter for a moment and puts it back into her pocket. ]

I think it might be best if we spoke in person. Could you just tell him to... let me know when he's free?

[ She's not really sure what to say to him, but maybe Arthur will have just as hard a time with this...then she can has a few days to sort this out. ]

I will. [And if need be Merlin will tell Arthur to get his head out of his arse and drag him over to talk to Gwen by force. Well. As much force as a scrawny manservant can use on a fully trained knight, which means he would probably just refuse to do any of Arthur's chores until he talked to Gwen.]
