[A SeeD stands in the middle of the Quad, holding a clipboard as he addresses all the attendees of the event.]

Welcome to the first event of the Sponsorship Games, the 'Dares Challenge'! This challenge will test how far you will go to help your team succeed in the Sponsorship games. Here is how it will work;

Each member of a team has been randomly assigned a number. Depending on whether the Dare is an individual or team-centric challenge, a number from each team will be selected for these players to complete the assigned dare. The dare must be completed in order to win points for their team; failure to complete the dare will result in no points being awarded for the player's team.

Every dare can win a team a maximum of ten points; points will be distributed according to how well the Dare was carried out. This can depend on how creative the dare was done, if only part of it was completed, how well it was completed and other criteria.

The first team who manages to complete all their dares will be the the winners of the challenge.

Two hours will be given to all participants to fulfill their dares. Good luck to everyone!

[A whistle is blown, before the SeeD begins to recite the numbers and dares.]

I can't swim. [Deadpan, but no really. He'll drown.] Does splashing count?

[Stares at Marco.] ... You can't be serious.

Right... So then what are we going to do?

How deep is it?

And... nothing upside down.

It's shallow. Your feet should be able to touch the bottom.

If it's beyond my waist I'm not getting in. I wouldn't be able to move anyway, eh.

Then we're going to fail this dare. There's no point in getting in then, is there?

What if I sit on the ledge as a bird and dance like that? I did something like that before for my Pops.

Don't ask me. Ask the guy in charge. [Gestures off to whoever is available, probably the one with the clipboard and whistle.]

[Well. Damn. If they see him switch over though, it'll be a problem. So he's switching into phoenix before they get there. It's not cheating to be his true self. Yeah. Or something. Hope you're willing to speak for him Zuko since just about no one speaks avian around here.]

[Gawks at Marco who is now all phoenix-like, then flails his arms.] H-hey-! Wait!

Croo? [Struts. Sparkles. Is a pretty blue phoenix.]

I'm practically made of fire. Whatever. So long as we don't have to even fake swim. [Since he likes showers. But he'll pass on the birdbath idea thanks.]

Made of fire? So you, like, go out or something when you hit the water?

It's more like becoming immobile and being pulled downwards.

It's a curse I got in exchange for the fire. Rain and showers are okay, baths are tricky.

Oh. That don't sound too good. [Ponders.]

I could fly you around over the water, I guess...but that ain't exactly synchronized swimming...

Oh, I can fly. Except Gakupo said we're not supposed to use magic or other world powers.

I guess if I sat on the edge as a phoenix it'd be out of the stream and maybe people would be distracted by the sparkles enough?

[Yes. He sparkles. So manly.]

[Sparkles? ...the hell?]

Uhh... yeah, man, I guess. Whatever works, y'know?

[Phoenixes sparkle okay? It's not his fault he's so pretty. Or something.]

Here what do you think?

[Turns into a flaming blue phoenix when Gakupo and the judges aren't looking.]

[Sparkles notwithstanding, Kazuma thinks that's pretty cool and nods approvingly.]

[Salutes a wing and poses on the ledge, demonstrating the dance he did to make his Pops laugh once.]

[It makes Kazuma laugh, too--something about a big, blue, sparkly bird dancing on the edge of a fountain just has that effect on him. Especially when he envisions himself and the rest of their team mates trying to do the same moves. In the water.]

Looks good, man. Dunno how that'll work for the rest of us, but it'll probably be funny as hell to try.

[Excellent, because it's definitely supposed to be pretty funny. And distracting.]
