As a computer scientist specialist in training, I'm amused that with all this technology at our disposal, we STILL have to type out our names when we make BBS posts.

Because who will really remember cadet numbers?

I can't be the only one noticing this.

I don't really care who I'm talking to on these things.

I'd say that either they don't want to identify us by something as personal as our names, or whoever designed this system is lazy.

I think it would be nice to know who we deal with, at least. You'll never know what nutcase is on the other side of that monitor.

Not everyone has freakishly good memories. I know of only one person who does, and he isn't here anymore.

That's a very odd name. But then again most humans do have unusual names.

I don't know why, but there must have been a reason for it. If you truly believe that the change is necessary and will be beneficial to others, then I think you should go ahead and do it.

Even with my SUPERB skills, I think me fiddling with the system might not be a good solution. Now, having assistance, or dare I say it, TEAMWORK, would go a long way.

The issue is: why are we STILL typing out our names for each and every post or comment we make?

Example A being your comments so far.

We can capture those pesky GFs and share them with all of Garden easily, but we're still so behind with using actual names and not numbers. Or why not BOTH? OR! Why not give us an option to use either?

Most cadets are more vocal about the use of numbers and not names. The option's up to you, however, it's preferred that names are used instead.
