001 Ⓐ lobby

[ Enter the lobby and you'll find yourself a redhead, rubbing the back of her neck as she looks at the directory. What was she doing here? Amy was blaming this on the Doctor; somehow this had to be his fault. One way or another. How else would she end up back in school? Ugh. Wasn't she done with this?

Don't get her wrong. She was all about new planets, but she was promised Rio. Or at least some beachy, Rio-like planet. ]

I won't get marked off too much if I skip my first day, yeah? Probably just give me a warning - since, you know, I'm new and all.

[ She's debating with herself because she really doesn't feel like going anywhere. Especially class. But, she wouldn't mind seeing what other sort of places there were besides classrooms. Just a bit of research in case she wants to play hooky gets lost later. ]

I should get myself sorted first anyway. Hang on. What's a... Quad?

Oh, 'course not, been here for about a month! But look at you, all alive and fine, and--here.

[ a beat, and he stops, pulling away and keeping her at arm's length. ]

... not good. How did you get here?

[ She pulls her head back, furrowing her brows. ]

A month? How is that possible? I was just with you, in the TARDIS -- well, that's where I thought I was going into. But I just ended up here. I don't know.

Ooh. Not good, very not good. What happened, Amy? Anything odd, did you feel a pull or a push, anything?

I can't really remember. I mean, suddenly showing up here is pretty odd in itself, wouldn't you say? I might have felt kind of strange before coming here, but no-- I'm fine.

Do you know why we're here? And if you've been here for a month, then where have I been? This is really confusing, Doctor.

I slipped in through, quite possibly, a crack in time, like the Calvierris. You might've slipped in the same way, could've happened, might've happened, but very unlikely.

As to why we're here, well, why not, really? Come on, Amy, walk with me.

[sharp]

A crack in time? Like the one in my bedroom wall?[ Oh she looks nervous now. ] But you said that's unlikely, yeah?

'Kay... [ She starts to walk along side him. ] Yeah, but are we ever going to get out? And I'm all for a holiday, but this is school we're talking about.

Very unlikely. The school matter, you're just going to have to deal with it. It's either this or the shelter. You have a bed, food, and education. And, well, technically, this--is a parallel dimension of what could possibly be a different planet. You wanted a planet, you got a planet, Pond.

[ He got her with that one. And there really isn't any way to argue around it. Regardless, she looks over, pouting. ]

Not like that. I was hoping for something much more... Rio-like. Maybe even Fiji-like. I don't know. [ She shakes her head. ] So, what have you been doing this whole time without me, then?

Studying on what exactly's happened to this country, the time compression they keep babbling on about that's supposedly the reason we're both--well, most of the students--why we're all here.

Oh, and I made a robot cat, very nice. Named her Skitty.

[sharp]

You would be. [ lifting her eyebrow at him. ]

You made a robot cat? Seriously? Well, obviously you've been bored out of your mind without me.

Oh, please. Don't kid yourself, Doctor.

[ smiles. then stops to think. ]

Ehm. Hang on. Oh! It's B101. Whatever that means. Do we get to be flatmates?

What? You're joking. Can't we switch? [ she frowns. ] 'Cause this means I gotta stay with someone I don't even know. And we might not even have classes together? Ugh.

I'm most probably going to become a teacher in a semester or so, maybe a year, so that really isn't the least of your worries.

What?

[ she lifts her eyebrows. ]

You could be my teacher? Well, actually, that'll work out fine. Means I won't have to do anything for that class, yeah?

... what do you do in detention? Sit in corners?

[ grins. very serious about this: ] No, actually you take them outside and drink tea.

[ a pause, and he thinks about it. ] Drink tea...

You really want me blowing things up, Doctor?

[ keeps smiling. oh yeah, she can do this. ] Yes. Even with biscuits, if you like. And you chat. It's a long process. Not very much fun, you know, how detention is supposed to be.

Well, that's no fun. But, suppose it's better than lecture.

[ smiles, shaking his arm. ] Yeah. You can make them as horrible as you want. Just no writing. Only talking.

Me? No, never. [ she pokes his shoulder. ] I'm the human one, remember? I definitely know what a detention is. And that's it.
