001 Ⓐ lobby

[ Enter the lobby and you'll find yourself a redhead, rubbing the back of her neck as she looks at the directory. What was she doing here? Amy was blaming this on the Doctor; somehow this had to be his fault. One way or another. How else would she end up back in school? Ugh. Wasn't she done with this?

Don't get her wrong. She was all about new planets, but she was promised Rio. Or at least some beachy, Rio-like planet. ]

I won't get marked off too much if I skip my first day, yeah? Probably just give me a warning - since, you know, I'm new and all.

[ She's debating with herself because she really doesn't feel like going anywhere. Especially class. But, she wouldn't mind seeing what other sort of places there were besides classrooms. Just a bit of research in case she wants to play hooky gets lost later. ]

I should get myself sorted first anyway. Hang on. What's a... Quad?

[ Fancy that. Just the man she was looking to blame for all of this. But why is she all wide eyes and smile when she sees him? ]

[ She runs toward him, reaching for his arms. ]

You're here? I mean, 'course you are.

[ --oh, that's surprising, he's all wide eyes and shock. ]

Amy? --Amy! Yes, brilliant! [ and he goes ahead and hugs her tightly, lifting her up lightly. ]

--Ooh. Okay.

[ Guess she'll shout at him in a bit. She wraps her arms around him, laughing to herself. ]

How long have you been here? Did you just show up, too?

Oh, 'course not, been here for about a month! But look at you, all alive and fine, and--here.

[ a beat, and he stops, pulling away and keeping her at arm's length. ]

... not good. How did you get here?

[sharp]

[ She pulls her head back, furrowing her brows. ]

A month? How is that possible? I was just with you, in the TARDIS -- well, that's where I thought I was going into. But I just ended up here. I don't know.

Ooh. Not good, very not good. What happened, Amy? Anything odd, did you feel a pull or a push, anything?

I can't really remember. I mean, suddenly showing up here is pretty odd in itself, wouldn't you say? I might have felt kind of strange before coming here, but no-- I'm fine.

Do you know why we're here? And if you've been here for a month, then where have I been? This is really confusing, Doctor.

I slipped in through, quite possibly, a crack in time, like the Calvierris. You might've slipped in the same way, could've happened, might've happened, but very unlikely.

As to why we're here, well, why not, really? Come on, Amy, walk with me.

[Ken had just finished one of his exams and was on his way back to the dorms to get some rest when he hears her remark. Very politely and quietly he walks up next to her.]

A quad is basically like a courtyard.

[sharp]

[ She jumps not expecting anyone to be listening to her. Even though she was being quite loud about her thoughts. ]

Oh. What? Sorry. Didn't hear anybody coming. But you said a courtyard, yeah? Why not just call it a courtyard? Is there anything special about it?

[He gives a small bow following his apology.]

I don't think there is. Maybe it's called a Quad because it was shorter to write on the directory.

[sharp]

[ Whoa. Little boy bowing to her. Was everybody here going to be this formal? ]

Oh, no, it's fine. Don't worry yourself.

[ Then he makes her chuckle. ]

Suppose you gotta point there. Quad does make it sound cooler. Much more mysterious, you know?

Yeah. What gave me away? [ She's joking with him. ]

[He laughs softly. Probably the quickest straight-face to laugh, yet!]

Yeah, most definitely.

[ She laughs back. ]

[Larsa notices her rubbing the back of her neck. Such a gesture usually means they're a little lost. So he approaches her, books in arm, and peers at the navigation.]

Madame. Are you lost?

[sharp]

[ Amy looks over. At first she wasn't sure if the girl was actually speaking to her because of the 'madame' comment. ]

Oh. Me? Kind of. I'm just not sure where I should be.

Maybe I should rephrase that. I know where I should be, just not sure I want to be. Know what I mean?

Oh, good. [ eyes his books. ] But it looks like I won't be able to avoid it.
