001 Ⓐ lobby

[ Enter the lobby and you'll find yourself a redhead, rubbing the back of her neck as she looks at the directory. What was she doing here? Amy was blaming this on the Doctor; somehow this had to be his fault. One way or another. How else would she end up back in school? Ugh. Wasn't she done with this?

Don't get her wrong. She was all about new planets, but she was promised Rio. Or at least some beachy, Rio-like planet. ]

I won't get marked off too much if I skip my first day, yeah? Probably just give me a warning - since, you know, I'm new and all.

[ She's debating with herself because she really doesn't feel like going anywhere. Especially class. But, she wouldn't mind seeing what other sort of places there were besides classrooms. Just a bit of research in case she ~~wants to play hooky~~ gets lost later. ]

I should get myself sorted first anyway. Hang on. What's a... Quad?

[ and suddenly, the Garden's got a collapsed Doctor. ]

Doctor!

[ her eyes widen and she rushes forward trying to catch him before he hits the ground. he's heavy for her, so she just barely manage to keep him from falling. ]

I told you. ...Doctor?

[ JOHN SMITH, AMELIA :| yeahhh, he's not responding. but he sounds--at least, from his breathing--that he's sleeping. ]

[ SHE'S PANICKED, OKAY? he wasn't supposed to collapse right there on her. she shifts his weight, looking down at him, frowning. ]

Great. What am I going to do with you?

[ she tightens her hold on him, trying to move them away and to the floor. she can't keep him up like this for long. besides, someone is going to ask questions. ]

[ maybe calling a nurse? that might be nice. ]

[ nurse? she doesn't even know where the infirmary is. and leave him here? she'll get him situated first at least. she slips to the floor, propping him against a wall. or tries to. he keeps sliding to the side, but eventually she sits in front of him, cupping his face. ]

Ugh. Come on, wake up.

[ because she knows if he's sleeping, then he's going to dream... but he needs to rest. DILEMMA. ]

[ after a moment or two, there seems to be a sign of a struggle--he wants to sleep, but these damn nightmares--he'd rather choose to be awake. ]

[ he twitches under her hands and she knows he's dreaming. now she forgets about letting him sleep; she wants to wake him up. ]

Doctor, can you hear me? I know you can.

[ she leans in, still holding him. she's whispering, but her tone is sharp. ]

[ he suddenly jerks awake, looking a bit more dazed and weak than before, his hands shaking. ]

Ah. I collapsed, didn't I?

[ she jumps, taking back her hands. but she's still kneeling close in front of him. ]

Yeah. You did. You alright?

I'll be fine. [ brushes it off, even if it does look like he's seen a ghost. ]

[ frowns, shaking her head. amy is the master of 'i'm fine' so she sees through that. ]

You fell into a nightmare that quick, didn't you?

They're... rather quick to take over.

[ worried, she leans forward. personal space, what? ]

Can I help? Do you want to talk about them?

[ ~~aaaa don't snog me again~~ he presses his forehead against hers. ]

No, Amy. No, I've spent too much time dwelling on the past, before, it's time to move on.

[ ~~hey! it's not always her solution. it requires near-death, okay? or maybe alcohol. who knows.~~ siiiiigh. oh doctor. ]

Alright. But is there a way to stop them? I can't be clingy and follow you around in case this happens again.

[ ~~probably alcohol. nurse!amy~~~ ]

No, I haven't found out a way yet, if there is one. These sorts of things are tricky.

[ ~~well, she does have a uniform.~~ ]

Well, we need to find a way. Soon. Or at least how to let you rest without sleeping. I mean, if that's even possible.

[ finally manages a small smile. ]

[ starts getting up. ]

[ reaches down for his arm and pulls him up. ]

Walk me to my room without collapsing this time, yeah?

Oh, it's all Amy Pond today, is it? [ jumps back onto his feet, before taking her hand and leading her out. ]

[ smiles and closes her hand around his. she swings their arms. ] Hey, I'm the girl who just saved you. I think I deserve it, yeah?

Yes, of course. Now, dorms... this way.
