Okay. So... I know this place has some really weird stuff going on sometimes. But I turn around for one second and it's apparently over a year later, Sol Invictus is taken care of, and now Esthar turns out to be evil? Am I up to speed on everything?

Apparently my sponsor is also giving me a Chocobo. I'm kinda surprised that they knew I'd be back for that. I think Piyomon might be a bit jealous about that part though, but he's cute and probably strong if we're supposed to be using them to fight. But does anyone know why we're getting them and barely getting any instruction on how to ride them? This doesn't seem like it'd really go all that well with some people.

Also, umm... for those who don't know me, hi. My name's Chika Daimon. I hope everything goes well if we end up in battle together.

And yeah, it really looks like it. It's like everything's gone nuts. Are we really resorting to smashing Garden against things all the time now? If I didn't know better I'd say my brother came up with that plan.

that's the new garden masters's fault. zabala got really really hurt even worse than i did so he's in charge now. we gotta smash down the big barrier around esthar and we're doing it lots of places so they don't know where to expect us to attack.</font?

But you said you got hurt? How hurt are you? Are you alright?

And where are your right now anyway?

it's nothing. just been in the infirmary for a while. they're gonna release me today though.

[She's underselling this a LOT, needless to say.]

Okay then! Piyomon and I are going to go visit you real quick before they let you go then.

well i'll be here for a bit so head on over if you want.

[ And with that, Chika's going to get off the laptop and she's going to start heading over to the Infirmary, Piyomon following after her eagerly. Or desperately, as the case might be, because Chika's running pretty fast.

Once they make it there though, Chika's not going to waste any time getting over to Dash. ]

Hey Dash! I'm sorry that it took me so long to get here. [Not to mention the whole thing where she hadn't been there to help against the fight in the first place. Because she was sure she and Crossmon would've been really useful with whatever put Dash here. ]

[Rainbow is parked in her bed, reading a book, with Tank by her side. She sits up immediately when Chika enters, grinning. The pony looks perfectly fine except for a line in her fur on her chest, evidence of a pretty major scar beneath it.]

Ha, that's pretty literal. You've been missing forever!

[ Chika nods, though to her it was only a couple of seconds. She and Piyomon didn't even get to go home.

So Chika's going to head over to the bed and move to throw her arms around Dash. Making sure not to hurt her in case there's still a bit of the old injury. ]

Yeah. Sorry about that. The Time Compression just sucks.

[ Piyomon looks a little annoyed himself. ]

Yeah. We missed almost everything important. And we were so close to finishing school here too!

[Rainbow returned the hug with a cheerful vigor that ought to say more than words that she feels just fine.]

Hey, we're heading into a giant battle, maybe you can cut a deal. Win and you get to graduate!

[ It does, and Chika's smiles now that she's sure that Rainbow Dash is okay. ]

Yeah! We should. I mean, we'd obviously competent enough after this, right?

And even if they don't, it's not like school and the final exam can really be harder than what's going to happen.

I'm not sure it'll be harder than the fight with Sol Invictus though. THAT was rough. I'd rather have gone back to the Island Closest to Heaven than that!

... I guess. I mean, Piyomon and I weren't there for that one. But isn't Esthar blowing stuff up with Time Compression? I mean, that seems a bit more dangerous than what Sol Invictus was able to do before I went poof.

Nopony from Esthar can take me and Ed both in a fight. [That's half irritation, half anger.]

You and Ed? [ That was... kinda interesting. She didn't know exactly what that meant. Was it even something that was important?

Well, Piyomon sure seemed to think so. ]

So... you two are working together now or something? I thought you didn't like each other very much.

Piyomon, you do remember that we've been gone forever, right?

...What are you talking about? Me and Ed have always been like this. [She holds up her hooves, clasped together.] Our friendship just tends to be a really yelly one.

[ Chika giggled, and Piyomon pouted, but she moved her hand to rub at his head. ]

Don't mind him. He and I only really ever saw the two of you yelling when you were together, so that's just the only impression we got. That's all.

Naw, Ed's the best. He just needs some yelling every now and then.

[Did she mean that Ed needed to yell, or needed to be yelled at? The answer is both.]

I'm glad to hear that things with him go so well. He doesn't really give the impression of being friendly.

... Don't you mean that he acts like a jerk a lot?

[ Chika just sighs. Maybe Piyomon needed a refresher course on tact? ]

Sure, he ACTS like one. But inside he's a really great guy!

[Rainbow's eyes practically shine.]

[ Chika can't help but giggle a bit in response. God, Rainbow really had it bad, didn't she? It was kinda hard for Chika to assume anything else here. ]

Well, I'm glad that the two of you like each other a lot. Ed really seems like someone who can use all the friends that he can get.

[Boy, Chika sure isn't wrong.]

Yeah, that's really true. And SOMEpony's got to look out for him. [She unconsciously touches the scar.]
