Well since we're breaking away to begin with, why not go all the way and just become pirates? Floating the seven seas, waving our battle flag from the massive white dome. Pillage and plunder and the occasional panty raid. What do you think? Shall we put it to the vote?

"Man...I'd give anything to go back..." It had slipped out...but he'd meant it too. This place could never be enough. But that being said... "And if you even think about apologizing for it I'll tweak your nose off, brat."
no subject
"You know...this could be a blessing, Thatch. We're in overtime...when we go home there is no future. But here...well here we could enjoy everything to the fullest. Treasure every second we get and never let anything slip by us. I don't want to miss out on anything...and well...I don't want you too either.. We need to make sure we spend enough time with Namur and Marco...to make up for later. And enough time with each other to do the things we never got a chance to do."

"You sound just like Marco." He fished a cigar from his glove compartment and searched around for a lighter. "But yeah. Let's enjoy ourselves." Since agreeing with the sentiment was always the best answer even if it felt like trying too hard sometimes.

"Thatch. Why do you not want me?" Subtlety? What was that? Ace knew something was bugging him, but as long as it wasn't him he wouldn't pry. The question was, he didn't know how to word it right....and this was the best he could come up with.

"It's not you, Sparks-- I don't do that kind of thing" very well "anymore. I just don't have the drive for it exactly." Plus he would only disappoint him in the end and it was better to just leave it where it was.

"It's a shame though, I could have rocked your world." He teased as an afterthought.
no subject
"You always do, babe. But listen, anything other than that, anything, and I'll do it." He glanced at Ace. "You know I'd move the world for you."
no subject
"How much longer till we hit town?"

Ace would fit in and stand out there, as he fit in and stood out everywhere and Thatch couldn't help but be proud of him for that.

"I love the smell of the ocean. The only thing that has ever come close to being this good is Marco fresh out of the shower." Ace smiled brightly over at Thatch. Ironically he would have originally chosen to tease Thatch and say that about him instead, but after their previous talk he had kind of made a mental note to not pick on him as much...after all. He wanted Thatch to hang around. "Which way to the bar?"
no subject
"This way, babe," he said, jerking his head and starting down the street. He just wants to cut loose on this place. Show them what they really have to worry about--but wouldn't want the Garden to suffer. Partly since he still needed money to take care of everyone. There were a couple of girls eyeing them, well Ace probably, and giggling but Thatch more or less ignored them.
no subject
"Hey Thatch, we're gonna let loose right? I mean...well I can let loose right? You'll make sure I get back alright?"
no subject
"You can get loose as much as you want. Even start a fire or two, why the hell not? Whatever trouble you get in, I'll get you out of." Just like it always was. Seeing Ace be as free as hell was just one of those things that was going to make life in this place that much better.

He opened a tab and got two mugs of ale and a few munchies that would be brought to their end of the bar. Then he turned with beer in hand and headed to sit with Thatch.
no subject
"Thanks, babe." He didn't belong in this damn little town and that damn fussy Garden. Figures the afterlife made him even more trapped.
"How do you like things so far?"
no subject
"It's different, that's for sure. I can't say I completely hate it...but I do miss home and Pops and the rest of our brothers. Though I have to say that I think I would like to stay here for as long as possible. Getting to spend more time with you....and prolong the inevitable for myself back home....yeah, that sounds good." Ace gave Thatch a half smile and took another long drink.
"Even if you are an old man, in your head, I doubt there's anyone else around I would rather do this kind of thing with."
no subject
"That's because I am an old man. An old man whose trained you well. You're going to get laid more than a red carpet, my friend." Okay that didn't make a whole lot of sense but who cared. "Any lass catch your eye?"
no subject
"One or two...the blonde in the corner is pretty cute. Seems like she's interested in me to boot." Ace said to Thatch as the barmaid brought over their snacks and another round of ale.
"I still wish you were carousing yourself. It really isn't as much fun without my smoking hot wingman."
no subject
"That doesn't interest me any more." He wondered how long he was going to have to keep saying it. "But don't let that ruin your fun."
no subject
"Hi, My name is Priscilla. What's yours?" She asked. She had dark brown eyes and a little mole on her left cheek that just made her look that much classier. She rested her head in her palm and crossed her legs. Interested in nothing more then a conversation she waited patiently for Thatch to respond.
no subject
"Thatch. Can I get you a drink?" The words were out of him before he knew they were in, instinct taking over. But eh. What the hell. What was the worst that could happen?

Over in the corner Ace was having a grand time that was very much improved by the fact that Thatch was not left alone. He hoped that the woman beside him could keep him company. She looked smart. He hoped so anyway.
