... Hey. I guess I'm not the only one here who's a bit concerned with what we're going to be doing. I mean, they're throwing us to the strongest monsters on the planet, right?

I mean, I just completed my first quarter here. I barely have any of the training. It was a just a good thing that I decided to take PMGF 101 first thing.

And, the commander said we're not allowed to use "otherworldly powers"? Or can we use them if we have to, and we just won't get recognition for it?

[She sighs.]

I don't know, it just doesn't seem like a good idea. I mean, what if your limit break involves BOOSTING "otherworldly powers"?

Well, okay, sure! We should probably meet up before we do any thing else anyway. I can introduce you to Piyomon too!

Uh-huh! They're creatures from my world who helped trainers fight.

Do you wanna meet up in the Quad now?

... That sounds kinda familiar.

But yeah, we probably should. See you in around... twenty minutes, I guess?

Yep, see you!

[And sure enough, around twenty minutes later, Chika and Piyomon are waiting around the quad, looking for Tobias. It's... not that hard to know its them really. Piyomon's a giant pink bird, after all.]

[Tobias isn't all that difficult to find either, though that's mostly from the large yellow lightning mouse on his head -- his sense of style is fairly subtle and fitting to Garden.]

Hi. You're Chika and Piyomon, right?

[Well, even if he was hard to find, him saying that would've made it perfectly obvious who he was.]

Yep! It's nice to meet you in person Tobias!

It really is. So... is that... mouse thing on your head Pikachu?

Nice to meet you guys too!

[Said "mouse thing" gives a rather irritated "chaaa" at the bird, her ears back and sparks flickering across her cheeks.]

Yep, this is Pikachu. [A quick pat on the head seems to calm her, at least slightly.] She's a little wary of new people, but she's really nice once you get to know her.

[Piyomon flinches back, but Chika smiles, looking over at the mouse.]

Aww, she's so adorable.

[Chika kinda wants to pet her, but Tobias just said she was wary of new people. Maybe next time.]

[Or maybe not. Pikachu's ears perk at the compliment and she gives a rather pleased "Chuu," looking proud of herself and causing Toby to giggle.]

Wow, I think she likes you already.

[Chika giggled, looking over at the mouse creature.]

Do you mind if i pet you?

Pi Pikachu.

[Tobias gives a slight nod as Pikachu moves to his shoulders.]

She doesn't mind.

[Chika smiles, walking closer to Tobias and Pikachu, moving her hand to gently rub against the rodent's head.]

Aww, her fur's so soft.

[She's going to keep petting her a little more, at least until Pikachu tells her to stop or something else happens.]

[That may be a while. Pikachu seems quite pleased to be pet and she makes a happy, quiet noise.

Tobias, meanwhile, is looking at Piyomon.]

Could I pet you, too?

[Oh dear, that wasn't really a good question to ask, Tobias. Piyomon doesn't look happy to hear it.]

I'd rather not.

[Well, that was a bit more civil than Chika was expecting. She was used to him being really adamant about the whole not being a pet thing.]

Oh, okay. I'm sorry.

[Tobias does look genuinely apologetic -- he really wasn't thinking of Piyomon as a pet, more a "ooh pretty feathers" thing, and the displeasure was... fairly clear. It comes from having a phoenix as a Dad, though, so he clearly didn't mean to insult him.]

[Chika giggles. Sure, he didn't mind it at the orphanage, but the girl was a little girl after all. Also she's still petting the Pikachu.]

She came with you back from your world, right?

Yeah, she did. I have Charizard too, but he's the Guardian Force I keep junctioned. He wasn't very nice anyway.

[Pikachu is still allowing this, her eyes closed and almost looking like she's dozing off gently.]

[Chika blinks, looking at Tobias for a moment.]

That's right, some things that come through here end up as Guardian Forces. I can't imagine Piyomon not being here with me.

Maybe it's just things that are big. Because I still have Pikachu with me, but Charizard was really huge. Taller than adults.

[Okay, maybe not by too much, but still.]

I'm glad Piyomon is normal, though!

[Chika giggles at that, turning to Piyomon.]

Yeah, I guess we really lucked out there.

It's really nice having a friend from home with you.

[Even if his memories are just scrambled here and there...]

[Chika smiles, and so does Piyomon.]

Yeah. It really does help a lot.

And this place let us see each other again too!

Again? Were you separated?

[Chika nods.]

Yeah. We were. Before coming here, we haven't even seen each other for five years.
