... Hey. I guess I'm not the only one here who's a bit concerned with what we're going to be doing. I mean, they're throwing us to the strongest monsters on the planet, right?

I mean, I just completed my first quarter here. I barely have any of the training. It was a just a good thing that I decided to take PMGF 101 first thing.

And, the commander said we're not allowed to use "otherworldly powers"? Or can we use them if we have to, and we just won't get recognition for it?

[She sighs.]

I don't know, it just doesn't seem like a good idea. I mean, what if your limit break involves BOOSTING "otherworldly powers"?

Though it does still seem pretty dangerous.

It's not really a good thing you took the course - if you didn't take it, you wouldn't have had to go in the first place.

If it gets too much, just run. I doubt anyone's going to expect much from us new guys anyway, so there's no point throwing yourself in at the deep end.

I assure you, there is little choice to this. Would you rather not have the training and then an enemy that is stronger attack the Garden?

Well, no, but even so...

You'd think that if this training was necessary, it'd be built into the course work.

I don't think it was necessary before because there was a tenuous peace between us and everywhere else. But not too long ago, it was proven the slightest "provocation" will earn an attack. So there's a need to adapt quite suddenly.

What? I must have missed that part of the announcement... I noticed that assisting SeeDs without them get a rank increase, but nothing restricting anything we the cadets do...

Well, it's not that we're not allowed to do it, but she did mention that if we beat the monsters without them we'd get... something.

You are allowed to use otherworldly powers, particularly on this mission. It's a bad idea in public around people native to this world who aren't part of the Garden, because they might assume that you're a sorceress, but they will not be around on this mission at all.

May I ask what those powers include and how your limit break boosts them? This way I know what to look out for on the field and avoid it if it's rather large.

Well, umm... didn't she mention something about beating them without powers though?

Though I guess I misheard or misunderstood or something.

Anyway, my powers let me use something called Digisoul to strengthen my punches and kicks, and also turn Piyomon into bigger forms. The limit break just makes it more powerful, and well... we haven't tried this yet, but from the looks of it and what I remember from others who used it back home, it should let Piyomon go into an even stronger form. We didn't really have time to test that part out though, not during class anyway.

You just get an extra bonus if you you can kill one without using very strong otherworldly powers. For instance if I had a magic power to create black holes, I could just sink the monsters into one so it couldn't fight back, and for the purpose of this training mission that would be cheating.

I'll ask the Commander about your particular limit break, but would you be willing to give me a prior demonstration fighting against a T-Rexaur in the Training Center? From the sounds of it, it just enhances your GF and regular fighting strengths which is something spells here could do, so I don't think it'd be a problem.
