To all cadets going on the Heaven mission, and any SeeDs helping out on it:

I'd like a role call in order to assess team lineup. For cadets we seem to have more healing specialists than previously believed. I know at least three have spoken up, and I know of at least one GF specialist. [That's not even an official thing, but fight him, he's hoping that other cadets will step forward to brag about their own GF skills.] However most of our straight forward fighters seem to have either graduated or they're holding their tongues, so I'd like to see who else qualifies in that respect. Likewise paramagic or anything else, thank you.

On a purely conversational note, have any of you done anything like this before or do you all come from worlds more peaceful than this?

[Truthfully Marco is aware of those who have declared their specialties, however, he knows a lot of the kids haven't declared it yet, and more importantly, he's hoping to get them excited about the prospect and eager to prove and establish themselves rather than just be afraid.]

[For anyone looking for him, Marco will generally be outside around the Quad whistling to some birds, but he also discreetly patrols the Training Center hoping that a bunch of the kids will try to get in some last minute training, and this way he can keep an eye on them so they don't burn out. And for his own peace of mind, he's busy practicing free falls and backflips. It's been a long time since he fought something he would consider truly challenging, and if anything, he knows he needs to practice his own restraint. It's the kids' chance to fight, he's just going to be flying in and taking out anyone too close to dying. Feel free to catch him singing with the birds or while doing a few backflips, he wouldn't mind some company at all.]

[Gakupo gathers his things and drops them off at his room. He'll do his best to not be too late!]

[Wanders over soon enough. He's bored and a little tense, he's going to have to do backflips later he can already tell.]

Ossu! Ready to see how far we can go?

Always. Care to race?

[Not a good idea, Marco cheats.]

[Of course Gakupo expects the best of Marco, which means he wouldn't expet him to cheat...]

You're on! We should choose a direction first, though.

That one. [Points vaguely to where the closest city should be.]

On your mark....

Get set....

Go! [And Marco's off running like a bullet out of a shotgun...]

[Gakupo sees where Marco has pointed, and gets ready to dash off. Hopefully he understood where they were going.

With the race underway, Gakupo keeps pace. He may not have ran for long distances for a while, but it won't mean he'll be beaten! Unless Marco cheats.]

[Oh yeah, he's going to cheat, all right. Eventually he slows down to let Gakupo catch up, acting like he's out of breath. Birds take a lot of oxygen to breathe you know!]

[Gakupo is running like his life depended on it, so when marco slows down, he's not even thinking twice about leaving him in the dust.]

[As Gakupo pulls further ahead, Marco takes a "shortcut" to dash up to a hill and switches to phoenix mode up behind the trees to fly further up the hill. He switches to human to run his way down so that when Gakupo sees him again, he'll suddenly be running down the hill in front of him. Cheater.]

[Not hearing anything behind him, Gakupo glances back and sees...no one behind him. Finding that odd, Gakupo slows down to a stop and looks about in confusion.]

...Marco?

[fierybluebird]

[And he goes running down the hill in front of Gakupo and whistles to himself.] Well that backfired eh. How'd he get so far ahead?

[And then he catches Gakupo out of the corner of his eye and bursts out laughing.]

CATCH UP SLOWPOKE!

[eggplantallergy]

[Gakupo blinks and looks over to Marco, astounded.]

WHERE DID YOU COME FROM?!

Ahead! Catch up or you won't have a chance of winning matey!

[Run run run.]

[RUNNING!! Gakupo is still perplexed but he'll settle for trying to win!]

Hey Plum, you still behind me or did you get lost? [Jogging jogging lalalala]

[He'll get you one day, Marco! For now, he's running and catching up to him! Gakupo is no stranger to training and being able to run a lot.]

[fierybluebird]

Damn, you've gotten good at this, huh? [Okay so they might be neck and neck now, but Marco can still regenerate! If his legs get too tired, don't mind the quick burst of blue flames. Seriously, he cheats.]

[eggplantallergy]

I've gotten good? No, I've been this good for a while! [Okay, now he's just being cocky.] How close are we?

[Hes getting tired and hungry!]

What really? Damn! Why didn't we race before?

Right over the ledge. See it up ahead?

[eggplantallergy]

I just thought you were too busy being married~!

[Gakupo looks and nods, heading in that direction. He forgot why they were racing in the first place, but he wanted that pizza when they finished.]

Oh right! That's what it was.

That and I don't usually on long runs, eh?

Eh? Why not?

Because I can fly.
