To all cadets going on the Heaven mission, and any SeeDs helping out on it:

I'd like a role call in order to assess team lineup. For cadets we seem to have more healing specialists than previously believed. I know at least three have spoken up, and I know of at least one GF specialist. [That's not even an official thing, but fight him, he's hoping that other cadets will step forward to brag about their own GF skills.] However most of our straight forward fighters seem to have either graduated or they're holding their tongues, so I'd like to see who else qualifies in that respect. Likewise paramagic or anything else, thank you.

On a purely conversational note, have any of you done anything like this before or do you all come from worlds more peaceful than this?

[Truthfully Marco is aware of those who have declared their specialties, however, he knows a lot of the kids haven't declared it yet, and more importantly, he's hoping to get them excited about the prospect and eager to prove and establish themselves rather than just be afraid.]

[For anyone looking for him, Marco will generally be outside around the Quad whistling to some birds, but he also discreetly patrols the Training Center hoping that a bunch of the kids will try to get in some last minute training, and this way he can keep an eye on them so they don't burn out. And for his own peace of mind, he's busy practicing free falls and backflips. It's been a long time since he fought something he would consider truly challenging, and if anything, he knows he needs to practice his own restraint. It's the kids' chance to fight, he's just going to be flying in and taking out anyone too close to dying. Feel free to catch him singing with the birds or while doing a few backflips, he wouldn't mind some company at all.]

I don't know if I'll be any help on the mission. I'm not a very good fighter, and my specialties are in business, not fighting.

War isn't just hand to hand or weapons to weapons combat. There is strategy, healing, protection, and assessing team's advantages and the disadvantages of foes to consider as well.

My father was the strongest man in the world for two reasons. The first was because he always knew we had his back and that he had to protect us. The second was because he was also the most brilliant tactician I've ever known. He was brilliant.

Find what you're protecting and help your team, you'll do better than you expect.

What if no one wants to be on a team with me? I don't want to end up with the last person because I don't have any other choice. It's not fair to them.

[She pauses a moment, searching for the man they had all described. Seeing SeeD Marco as he whistles to the birds. She promptly walks up to him and quickly salutes. There was no point in wasting time. And quite frankly, she was tired of staring at books all day. If this place was to be her home, then she had better damned well protect it.]

Sir, I was wondering if I could have a moment of your time?

[Vaguely salutes back. He might have aced his Cadet Basic Training, and even memorized the handbook, but it was only because he was trying to beat out Azula for the Disciplinary Committee. Marco is forever, and always will be, a pirate at heart.]

Certainly, how can I help you Miss? [Just don't mind the birds perched on his shoulders. They'll fly away if startled.]

[Honestly, she was surprised at how casually he saluted. It was something that kinda reminded her of a wounded comrad from back home. Lowering her arm, she sighs before speaking.]

Are you Seed Marco?

I am. You can just call me Marco though. My title rank back home is different and can't really be used here.

[He tilts his head though.] Unless you prefer it this way. [He's been in this world nearly three years now, long enough to know that some people are more comfortable for formality than without, even if it still seems strange to him.]

[Sorry, Marco. Angry lizard is still angry, and he's taking it out on some Grats. He sees you, but his expression and the way he turns his head away... yeah. Pretending not to know you right now.]

[Sighs and whistles to himself, grabbing a spot at a nearby tree and leans against a trunk.]

[Ooops, sorry, did Espio throw that Grat at you then, Marco?]

I'll be participating, of course. Either with para-magic, fighting, or a combination of both.

As for your question, I haven't done something like this before, but I've had extensive training. Hopefully that, the schooling, and missions will allow me to use those skills I earned.

[Koriand'r isn't exactly looking for him, but she's out walking, trying to clear her head. It's not exactly working. But she happens to be in the Quad and hears him singing to the birds. At least it was something for a distraction. So she walks closer listening to the song]

[He tilts his head when a bird mentions a redhead coming near, thinking of course, that it might be Grell, but when he sees Koriand'r he waves from his tree branch and finishes up the song.]

[She waves back, but its much half-hearted than it usually would have been. She waits while he finishes the song. It at least was a nice song though she had no point of reference of what it was about and she was actually kind of disappointed when it ended]

That's part of it. Thinking... about what's been on everyone's minds right now.

[She's been ignoring the BBS ever since because she didn't want to see either of the reactions to it, those who supported and those who didn't]
