[BBS] Resignation Notice

I'll keep this short and sweet.

Today I wrote up a notice of resignation. I've yet to submit it - I will stay through the break to support our cadets, but when we return, I will no longer be part of SeeD, and will be leaving Balamb Garden.

It's been a good couple of years, but I'm officially done.

ESPIO

[ooc: NO this is not a drop notice, or an impending drop notice! This is an "Espio is pissed off" notice. And no. I have no idea how this is going to work out =| ]

[And all of the wrong person saw it.]

Espio?

God damn it. Get your ass over here before I kick it. You're not allowed to be more rash than Ace.

Yeah, of course, Espio. I don't have a roommate anymore, so it'd just be us. And I'll keep it a secret, I promise.

While there would be no other better rival, I do understand your decision.

Do you really think these kids are so frail they can't handle a few monsters? And if so, isn't it better that they learn now where we won't let them get killed than later where that isn't even an option?

Don't assume someone is too weak until they've had a chance to prove themselves.

What?

Garden needs every SeeD it can get though.

[She loves Garden and hates to see anybody leave it.]
redcinemareel: (Grell: ...wha?)

Don't get used to it!

What torture?

Look, Espio, no world is set up so that people can simply stay within their own comfort zones and still get stronger. This isn't being strapped down to a table with no chance to fight back just electrocuted with pain. This is fighting someone who might be stronger. Given the numbers the cadets will have on their side, if they work together there really isn't a good excuse for them not to succeed except that perhaps they haven't learned enough yet.

But if they were anything like my crew, anything like most of my world, they'd be excited for an opportunity to prove themselves beyond expectations. And if not, then to just learn more.

Let's talk in person.

So don't support the Commander.

You have to understand though, this is kinda the way things go around here. Mind you, not to this extreme but it is an important lesson that we all have to learn.

I don't like it anymore than you do, but there isn't a whole lot that we can do about it.

Besides, don't you think you're underestimating the cadets just a little bit? The cadets have been training since they first enrolled in Garden.

Well. Guess that's a thing that's happening. Gotta do what you feel is right, I guess.

I'm still tryin' to figure out what I think of this myself.
fierybluebird: (getting serious now)

Do not talk to me about torture until you've been tortured yourself. Do you know what my world does to those who fail?

Trust me Espio, this doesn't come close.

Getting a little injured now is better than being immobilized or killed later. And if the kids here can't say they would choose that on themselves, then they do not belong in this school in the first place.
redcinemareel: (Grell: oh well)

[personal profile] redcinemareel 2013-01-17 06:02 am (UTC)(link)
With our dynamic? No.
selphie_t: (Ummmm... right.)

There are all sorts of tasks that need to be carried out in these kinds of situations though. The greenest of the cadets can be set to running messages and helping with the wounded. And as far as I can recall, you don't begin junctioning GF's right away. Being out on the battlefield will help them learn to improvise.
