[It had taken some time, but after enough tinkering and watching others, Rin has finally figured out how this technology works. Which is a step in the right direction, right?]
Ugh. How do you people stand this place? It is just absolutely disgusting inside out, no one seems to take any kind of manners about this place and no one seems to believe you if you tell them you deserve some form of respect. Iwas AM still a princess, the next in line to become ruler of the Yellow Country and yet no one around here believes a word of it! I do not appreciate being talked down to as if I am some kind of child who has not a clue as to how the world works, I have studied and I have seen things that many have not seem. I am a capable ruler and am a capable member of the royal family, I do not appreciate being treated in any different manner!
And this... this gallivanting about the place is absolutely ridiculous and uncalled for, if one is here to learn, then they should do everything in their ability to get out of here as soon as possible with all the information necessary. Instead people are leeching off the system like common beggars and making the rest of us seem just as bad. Disgusting. Absolutely and undeniably disgusting.

And yet I am very hard-pressed to care what they think of me in that regard, I know what I am and if they are not inclined to care, then I will find a way to make them care. [Even in text there is a hint of threat with those words.]
I did what I had to do when I was back home and I will do what I need to do while I am here, whether that makes people love or hate me it matters very little. Though, I suppose, blustering on on the first day may not be in my best interests until something has been established.
And, instructor, believe me when I say I will not remain silent for long.

[The bit about doing what she has to do? Well, Ellyn can respect that, because really, isn't that what every offworlder here is doing?]
Oh, you don't have to remain silent. Personally, I prefer you don't. The question is, will your words be heard? Or will they be just a passing wind from a pair of flapping lips? Will they be worth it? From the attitude so far, I'm thinking the latter.

[Flapping lips... Well, she supposes she might have been a bit more harsh than usual, even with her annoyance and everything else piling up.]
I admit I perhaps spoke too harshly, but it was out of a combination of various things. As I'm sure you are used to, being stuck in a place unfamiliar, being told you have to work for someone else, being forced into situations you do not want, it's a very hard thing for one to take in all at once.

Yes, I will agree with you on that. It was all difficult to take in, and it wasn't something I was incredibly fond of. I'll be the first to admit that I'm something of a mule when it comes to being told what to do. [Hello understatement of the century.] And yet, I turned it around pretty quickly. Because if I had to do things this certain way, I could at least come to it on my terms. So far, it's worked out.

I cannot see how I can make this work on my own terms, particularly when I am without the one person who would make any of this a lot better than it seems. But perhaps that would lead to... growth and an opportunity to be better prepared to defend myself if things continue on as they had back home.
