[1) Action: Marco can be found wandering about the Garden's open areas, whistling to birds, and perhaps more astonishingly, having them whistle back or come land on his shoulders or pineapple looking head.

2) Later the following BBS post pops up:]

Heading out on the honeymoon soon, before anything else can pop up to drag my new wife or I away. So I need someone to help with a few loose ends while we're gone. Souvenirs &/or babysitting gil can be rewarded upon request. Can SeeDs field out smaller jobs? I should know this by now... well if we can, count this as that, but you'll have to be very trustworthy. Let me know if you're interested!

Yes... Garden doesn't allow pets.

[She looks a little disappointed. Apparently, there's not much she would like better than a pet monster.]

They still train how to take care of chocobo though. [Sly grin.] Would you be interested in looking after one for a couple of weeks? Then you could decide whether you want to get one for yourself.

[She falls very quickly into silence, looking like she's having some sort of inner conflict. On the one hand, EEE CUTE THINGS. On the other hande, argh, potential thing to get attached to...]

Just for a little while, that way it's a trial run. [Strangely he seems to understand this inner conflict despite the lack of words vocalizing it.]

Me neither, since I view them more like friends. You could just view it like that though, eh?

Okay. I won't force you. Tell you what, I'll just teach you a little about how to make birds trust you, if you want?

[A nod. Yeah, that would be good.]

Okay. I think you've got a good start already, right? With the whole birdseed and staying still, eh? Just practice that a bit.

Do you talk to them?

[She doesn't mean in general. She means Marco, specifically, talking to birds.]

I do.

I can teach you a bit of that too. Most birds don't have a giant vocabulary so I found it easier than a lot of the foreign languages they teach here. A little like a cross between sign language and music.

[She didn't mean bird language, though come to think of it, it makes sense. He spoke bird when he was a bird, right?

And since she's a bird herself, this seems like a very good idea.

All right, do you have weekends free?

[She usually does craftwork on those days, but she figures she can spare a few hours to learn Bird.]
