[This place doesn't make any sense, as far as Arthur is concerned. And while interrogating what faculty he could taught him a little more about this whole school thing, it took a great deal of calm on his part not to draw his sword on them as his kidnappers. The fact that they were so congenial about the whole thing is the main reason he hasn't threatened anyone. Yet.

It wasn't until after a humbling talk with the headmaster that he calmed down and really began to look at his situation. After which he began wandering Balamb Garden, feeling unusually lost in more ways than one. A king without his kingdom, his people, was nothing more than a man. The only consolation he had was Excalibur, sheathed at his side. A small comfort, but a comfort nonetheless.

So that leaves one (1) King of Camelot, in full chainmail, a bright red cape, and a crown, wandering around exploring the place. And occasionally asking questions, because displacement aside, he's not exactly up to date on the modern technology.]

Magical creature? We're not magical creatures, silly. But you should purrobably know that magical creatures as just as much people here as nonmagical ones. In fact this school purrty much teaches everyone who is willing to learn a furm of magic so I kinda feel the diffurentiation is moot.

[Small frown] You said you're a knight, right? That means you purrobably use swords or axes or bows and arrows. Those are dangerous too, but not in of themselves, but rather beclaws of how people use them. Magic is no diffurent.

I know. It is possible for magic to be used for good. But I've seen what destruction and suffering it can bring, how badly it can corrupt... No man-made weapon could compare.

...I guess that's true. I mean, that's the reason we're all even here to begin with [Even if for Nepeta, being here is a good thing] But it's all part and parcel of being taught it--how to use it right.

[He takes a moment to consider that, at least. If one knew how to use magic properly, then maybe it could be put to use, for good.

But if that were true, why were the most knowledgeable, powerful sorcerers and witches the ones who caused the most pain and destruction?]

Regardless of intent, relying on magic can only lead to suffering. No amount of instruction can change that. If magic is taught here, I want no part of it.

[You know. Maybe he has a point. Really, how can you control something like someone's intent? That was all subject to the person themselves and their circumstances, and that could change at any point.]

I sorta see your point. You should still reconsider though. As far as I know this is the only place that is helping out the people who are brought here furrom other worlds. And...well, there are some prejudiced people out there. Heck, even here who don't foreigners.

And in this case, although Nepeta doesn't seem anywhere near as unpleasant as Vriska, he still suspects foul play.]

I do have manners. [Huffpuff.] But only to those deserving of my respect. You would see magic used regardless of the consequences; how do I know I can trust you?

I'm not asking fur your trust. I was just trying to make a logical point--just where exactly do you intend to go? Where will you get food and shelter? In a world you have no idea about? Good luck with that.

I didn't say I would leave the school. [grumblegrumble. He doesn't really want to accept this sort of situation- he's certain that allowing and even teaching magic would be the downfall of this place, but on his own, what could he do?]

This place has its own laws and customs, and I will do my utmost to respect that. But I will not be participating in any magical practice while I'm here.

Well you might want to have a word with the headmaster then. Even if you don't specialize in it, there are still some mandatory classes fur it.

Participating in these classes is a temporary measure as it is, until I can return to Camelot, however long that may take. I'm sure I can negotiate waiving that requirement.

[And if not, then he'd just have to find other ways around it.]
