[In the library Merlin was staring at one of the computers. He'd wanted to look at the books (they'd said that he couldn't go home, but Merlin wasn't sure if he believed him. In any case, he had to try and find a way back to Camelot, and maybe something in them would help him understand this bizarre place), but when he'd asked the keeper of the library they'd told him that the catalogue was in one of these strange magic boxes. They had to be magic, because one side of each box glowed.

Merlin had no idea how he was supposed to get this catalogue out of the magic box though. Did it need a spell? But they'd said that people didn't like 'unnatural powers' here, and Merlin wasn't going to use magic when he didn't know what would happen if he did.

Gingerly, he poked at the glowing thing. Nothing happened.]

Open?

[he poked it again]

...Please?

If we're not supposed to open it, how else are we supposed to get what's inside it? [Merlin, he is confused] What do you mean, 'turn it on'?

Well, you're supposed to press things and then...um. That's all I know, really.

Buttons? [Merlin grins at you like he thinks you're just a little bit daft] I wouldn't think a magic box would need buttons. It's not a coat.

Not like that! They're, um...things you press, to make the machine do things.

Like levers, you mean? [Things you press to make things do things is at least something Merlin is familiar with] How come they call them 'buttons'? It's a bit of a strange name, really.

I don't know, really. I didn't name them. That's just what they're called, as far as I know anyway.

So I just need to press...[Merlin stares at the computer. It seems to have a lot of these 'buttons'] ...which one exactly?

I don't know. Maybe you could try one at a time?

[At that, Merlin just starts randomly pressing buttons, until suddenly one of them makes the screen come to life. Merlin jumps back, and looks at Emil.]

...I'm guessing that one was it!

[staring at the screen too]

I have no idea.

[staring at it for a few more moments]

Maybe it will just...open on it's own?

I don't know. Try pressing something else now.

[Merlin does so, and ends up hitting the 'increase brightness' button on the monitor, bringing the screen up to eye-searingly bright levels]

Maybe that wasn't such a good idea. Is there anything that can fix it?
