[Waking up in a strange, new world is nothing new to Riku. After all, it happened when the islands disappeared into darkness. However, he didn't end up enrolled in a military academy back then. So, needless to say, this whole situation is different and a little overwhelming.

Time compression, Sorceresses... it's all a bunch of strange jargon to him. Still, if he's going to be stuck for a while, he might as well get used to it.

Which is exactly why he's planning on exploring every nook and cranny to get a feel for his surroundings. First stop? The cafeteria, to grab something to eat. While there, he'll probably find a quiet spot to sit on his own. No need to draw attention to himself, after all.

But once that's over with, he'll head on down to the Training Center. There, he'll showcase some of his sweet moves, including elemental magic, Keyblade techniques, tossing it at enemies like a boomerang or ramming straight into them, adding in a flurry of rapid combos... just to name a few of his techniques. He'll keep at it for a good while, noticeably keeping to himself. Obviously, someone should pester him before he overworks himself. KH folk might notice he's wielding Oathkeeper.

But after a while, he'll go ahead and park it in the library at one of the computers. By then he's blown off some steam and types up this message...]

You know, maybe I shouldn't be surprised. I've been pulled from one world to the next for a while now. Just wasn't expecting to wind up on my own again.

Or to end up back in school. So... anything I should know before classes start? Looks like I got pulled in here at the last minute. Might as well get an idea of what I'm getting into.

[ooc: Feel free to bump into Riku at any time, really. I tread to leave some options open!]

[He understands what she's saying, even if the light and darkness bits are something he'd normally shrug off. It's Kairi, so... he can deal.]

I did what I had to in order to keep my promise.

[But he appreciates her understanding, even if he's not outright saying it right now. It's... pretty darn reassuring.]

Just means I've got my work cut out for me.

[ She breaks away from him, tilting her head. ]

What promise? [ Undoubtedly something between him and his Sora and Kairi. ]

[Give him a second here. He's glancing down at that charm for a split second.]

I promised that I wouldn't head home until we found Sora... if anything was left of him.

[ Her face goes ash-pale at the thought. When her Sora had been missing, she'd lost her memories of him--and the pain had gone with it. But the idea of Sora lost, alone... ]

He's in the dark?

[Sora, in the dark?

Riku shakes his head immediately. There's no way.]

Even when he worked with Maleficent, Sora didn't even step close to the darkness. He just... lost his heart.

[ She swallows thickly. She gets it now, and the thought makes her miserable. ]

He's still a Heartless, isn't he? Your Kairi couldn't get him back.

Get him back?

[...oh snap.]

In Radi--Hollow Bastion. After you two fought, he realized that my heart...was inside his. So he turned the Keyblade on himself and turned into a Heartless. I woke up and I was able to find him. [ A tiny, rueful smile. ] The only Shadow who wouldn't attack me. I brought him back.

Sora and I didn't fight. Not really. After we beat Maleficent together, he just... told me what happened. How he had your heart inside him, and how he'd have to set it free.

[He looks pretty upset now.]

We sparred one last time, and then he just... disappeared. There wasn't time to look for any Heartless; Ansem showed up, and when he couldn't take over my body, he sent an army of Heartless after us.

It was too dangerous; we had no choice but to leave.

[ She feels anxious just envisioning the scene. Hadn't there been another way? Couldn't they have--taken her body and run? But then, she tells herself, between Donald and Goofy and Riku and Sora, if there'd been an alternative, they would have found it. Her head drops. ]

He could still be out there, somewhere. He's...aware, inside that body, he knows what's happening. Your Kairi'll be able to tell if it's him.

I found his Nobody.

[He winces, glancing the other way. He thought...]

I thought he was the only thing left. He still goes by Sora, but his memories... they're a trainwreck.

[ She looks up sharply. ]

You mean...Roxas? [ Why would he go by 'Sora'? How strange. ]

I'm sure you'll find a way to fix it, Riku. Your friends'll help you, won't they?

Roxas?

[Blinkblink. That's a new one...]

He never used that name. Same goes for my Replica.

[A beat.]

Either way, I'm not giving up on him, even if his memories are a mess.
