[ he gives the hatch a little test kick but it doesn't budge. there's probably a trick to it. like the elevator not being in motion. that would be a good start. he glances back over at her. ]

[ he gives it another kick for good measure...except this time, there's a CRACK that makes him pause, foot mid-air for another kick. ]

C'mon, it's this or the baby mission. What if they're hiding something down here? The basement is off limits for a reason.

[ There goes Lightning's circular logic, complete with more glaring. She's almost tempted to not follow his demand, but... The baby mission doesn't sound too appealing right now... A loud sigh escapes her before she jabs the Stop button, and the elevator slows to a halt. She kneels to watch Yuri and the hatch. ]
