Guess what.

You're now trapped in the elevator.

Maybe you were too lazy to take the stairs; maybe you just needed to get somewhere and this was the quickest way from A to B, despite the janitor's warnings (and the signs on every floor).

Whatever the reason, it's too late! You're stuck in here. The lights are out, none of the buttons are working (or maybe they're jammed?), and it's unlikely you'd be able to pry open the doors — this elevator is one sturdy son of a gun, and between floors, there's nowhere to go.

Anyway... who's that with you?]

(OOC: Garden's undergoing maintenance and construction now that it's docked at Fisherman's Horizon, and now the elevator is out to get you.

Anyway, this will work like a meme!

1) Tag in with your character, one per comment. Others will respond.

Characters responding can roll the RNG to get a date and time! Already see something you can work with? Go for it!

1 - weekday
2 - weekend

TIME
1 - early morning
2 - peak hour [right before/after classes/lunch; your call!]
3 - between classes
4 - dead of the night

If using the RNG, put your results in the comment title so that your threadmate knows what they're working with — alternatively, if there are options in the RNG that are completely unlikely for your character, make sure you specify what they are so that you get a scenario that you can handle.

Trapped outside of curfew? Beware the Disciplinary Committee.

2) Are you crowded against the wall? Is there only one person with you? What if you're forever alone? React accordingly! Make sure you work things out with each other if your thread is going to have more than two people in it.

Note that getting out through the ceiling hatches may not end well. No telling when the elevator will mysteriously fix itself, after all.

Please don't cling to your castmates; this event is to help foster CR that would otherwise never happen!

Not at all. The nature of my universe allows me to be several degrees more outrageous, if such a feat is possible for you to imagine.

The long run when applies to me is actually quite short. If things had worked out better I'd also be destined to create a new universe.

If anyone is still on the ruined planet I honestly wouldn't know. Even before I was brought here I was no longer on Earth.

I don't know what there would be left to survive on, though. The damage was quite extensive.

I think that even if it was uncharacteristically cheerful for me my planet was at the very least on par with Earth. Evolution no longer held any merit where my friends and I were - it was all pure engineering.

I didn't have a choice in it. Even if I'd been directly involved in the creation, not allowing the work to proceed would have wiped me from existence.

I call it being entangled in an unwanted string of paradoxes and time loops that unfortunately hold the key to keeping me around. I can break the future, but the past is beyond my reach.

I don't know what's more ridiculous. The fact that you've willingly gone along with this and claim to have no choice, or the fact that you seemingly have done nothing after the fact. What merit is there in having some abilities -- [ which is a cheap way of putting a bag of tricks ] -- if you're not going to use them against the people who have harmed you the most?

The genetic engineering of myself and my friends is relatively harmless. I prefer to focus my abilities on the oncoming threat, which I deem much greater.

If allowed to run unchecked, when my friends and I return to our home universe we'll be killed before the day is over. The mechanics which allowed us to be saved from the destruction of earth have deemed our session barren, which cannot be allowed to continue.

What I'm doing to prevent our fate from occurring has nothing to do with experiments. I'm going to acquire the power needed to break the infrastructure apart.

How exactly do you plan on gaining that power? Abilities like that simply aren't so widespread as you make it seem.

By arriving here so far back on the timeline I've been able to collect information about my future that I intend to carry back and use to my advantage. Barring the success of that plan, I'm going to make a deal with a mostly uninvolved third party.
