case 11 | BBS + action

I've tried asking the teachers this already, but it looks like I'll need tutors this Quarter. Again. Not for languages this time - unless any of you know Japanese - but for actual classes I'm taking this Quarter, like Boxing, Survival Skills, and the "age appropriate" math classes I've been forced to take.

If anyone's interested, let me know. I'll pay you well in something, even if it isn't in cash.

[Sometime later today, after he's made his BBS post, Damian's chilling in the Quad underneath a shady tree. (There's even a banner for "VOTE AANG FOR HOMECOMING PRINCE" over his head.) He's got a math textbook on his lap and a pencil in his hand as he's attempting to do math homework. Judging by the amount of eraser shavings, it looks like he's struggling a little bit... with basic 7th grade math.

There's also an old-fashioned (by Damian's standards) phone lying a little to his side, but it's not immediately obvious until someone's sitting next to him. As it is, he's not really aware it's there. After a moment, he hits the back of the tree in frustration... and immediately sticks his hand in his mouth. Right. Some things just can't be solved with violence.]

[Well, the banner with his name on it draws his attention, so Aang heads over to join Damian beneath the tree. He plops down next to him on the ground (not without using a bit of airbending to cushion his landing) with a smile.]

[He casually waves, then shrugging as he gestures towards his textbook.] Maths attacked. I'll legitimately fail this class if I don't keep up with my studies.

[He leans over to look at the book.] Do you need help? I'm not great at math, but hopefully I can keep you from failing.

I'll be fine if I work on it a little more, I think. It's just graphs and slopes and linear equations. [His concept of "failing" this class is.... having a B+.]

Not entirely, zift. [It's been a while since Damian's been this harsh, hasn't it? He's not even totally conscious of it. He facepalms, rubbing his temples] Just because I'm your manager doesn't mean I do all of the work.

That'd work. The whole point of a campaign's so that they like you and remember your name enough to go "Hey, I know this kid, so I'll vote for him."

They're both trolls. Although you're still the Avatar, you still look more human than either of them. [He's actually playing the race card. Good lord.] So, you'll grab the xenophobic vote no matter which way this swings.

The "afraid of off-worlders" vote. [he'd sigh exasperatedly, but there's no getting around this one.] Basically, the trolls you're running against don't look like they're human. So you're guaranteed votes from people who're scared to death of trolls.
